Well, if you're going for dabs, Id go with the lesser diffusing pieces, prolly the 1st one. If you're sticking with dhgate glass, I wouldn't be to concerned with a drop down.

For nails, IMO I wouldn't bother dabbing with anything less than a Liger or Halo, nothing else really comes close. If you want to stick with dhgate budget then you could go with something like a Boss nail but again, no where close to the Liger or Halo level. High5 also has some cheap controllers although you may be better served investing a bit of $$ and going with an Ewax or Auber and getting a better product.

thanks i didn't know much about drop downs and was going to get it but sounds like you're saying the glass is thick enough to not get too hot....would it help keep the percs of the pieces clear? it almost looks more of a breaking point to me as in it will tip or less stable/sturdy with it. although if it swivels thats kinda cool lol

yeah sadly i'm on a budget i'm going to look into that Boss nail. i don't understand the dnail and stuff about higher quality nails. like those replaceable dishes and new materials.

feel like i know what i want in general but having a hard time nailing down something between a few choices. i want function and had a bad experience with recylcer liked my sidecar thats what i like #1 it looks like same size (i wanted bigger but using just for dabs), and the incyvlar looks cool lol and less chance of water rt?

Drop downs can help keep things clean but I find if you learn how much your nail can take at the temps you run it at, you'll get much less reclaim in your rigs, they will definitely help keep heat off your glass but with dhgate stuff being so cheap you may find its better just to run without one and if there is any issues just replace the rig.

When it comes to nails the advanced materials make things easier to clean, have better and more flavors and the ability to use lower temps due to the nature of the materials......they do cost quite a bit more however. The Boss nail that i mentioned is, IMO, 1 of the best designed purely Ti nails, their carb cap also works very well with their nail.

i usually don't like titanium as much as quartz but those Boss nails look so legit

Yep. Companies like Boss and High5 are "american" companies that buy from china in bulk and resell from here with a better service setup, pretty much exactly how 99.99999999% of local head shops that have been around less than a few decades operate in regards to their products and glass that isn't otherwise noted as local or whatever. Id go with the silver unit as the other units they offer use micro xlr connectors and the silver uses a regular size, sticking with regular size components makes future replacements, in theory, easier and less likely to be vendor lock in.

i can't believe its only $150, but you said its china internal parts....so silver unit and for nail titanium? what would be the best budget one for nail just the cheapest? lol

if i go china route it will be 90 for enail (w/bag kit dab tool containers mat) and i don't know maybe 10-20 for nail. so thats still a 60 dollar difference but i guess would be better for that service you mentioned and warranty....

The reality is 99% of nails are chinese, there are standouts that make their controllers or at least assemble the parts in the USA like Errlectric, AugustHaus, Hex-Nail and possibly Auber, and you'll definitely pay extra for that. IMO the only real worry from china is getting something and having zero recourse if there is an issue, when you go through someone like High5 or Boss, they are kinda doing that legwork and taking the "risk" for you, for a small markup, and giving you an American face to deal with. I don't really think quality is an issue, I mean d-nails ridiculously overpriced controllers are all chinese, despite their claims otherwise, and they don't have many issues. As far as bare bones budget goes, I've always been 1 to spend a bit more up front to get long lasting rewards from a better product but in your specific question about the nail itself, comes down to if you prefer ti or quartz, IMO, the ti will last you longer and will get you by until you are ready to invest in something more fancy, and as an aside, both flat and 20mm coils from boss work fine with Ligers and the flat works with dnail Halos so you don't need to worry about your upgrade path

i just started dabbing again after 2 years and i have limited experience with nails outside what you get from headshops. and its been awhile since i've had ceramic or titanium.

i don't know they say quartz is good for flavor and aesthetically it looks nice i feel it holds heat well so the titanium from BOSS or highfive are china nails?

i mean i dont know now because in the 60 bucks i save going China route i can go warrentiless if the materials are the same and buy a new rig. 90 and 60 for enail and rig and i could use the container mat and dab tool lol

Don't get me wrong, you can have great experiences buying from china and dhgate, but IMO, why not remove the entire pacific ocean and do business way closer, with a higher likelyhood of hearing from the guy who sold it to you again. I think they do 1yr on the controller, not sure about the coils but its typically the same unless they get burnt or physically damaged.

Holding heat on an email is sorta irrelevant as the email is keeping the temp more or less spot on stable, sure there will be a little drop when you chug or first put the carb on but when your talking those type of nail setups they are going to be pretty similar in ultimate performance regarding cloud volume and whatnot.

gotcha so i'd be good with either. yeah i mean i want to just really limited budget and it seems like the one i have in mind has held up pretty well considering the reviews. if it even holds up 6 months it would pay for itself considering butane costs for me. and i don't have a proper dab tool container mats its a small thing but nice it comes with that and bag. plus i'm getting my rig from there for sure anyway so i have to wait :/
