Dear Mr. pp,
Since Ms @Squiby is calling dibs on blanks and going so far as to attempt to butter you up with her Canadian charms, could you use one of the Bocote blanks w/a darker species (think root beer color ;)) for accents on my stem whenever it pops up in the latest queue? I won't pick a special blank as I think it's just an unreasonable demand upon an artiste of your brilliance. I also feel that my appreciation of your artistic nature and requirements should move my stem far ahead of @Squiby and her hypothetical lidded stem. I'm not even sure what I want exactly but it should be well in front of hers. :D

Love ya Squiby!

Nobody will be getting jack shit until I've finished insulating the shed.

The logistics of compressing the contents of an 8' x 18' shed to a third it's original size is proving to be a challenge as I move stuff around and insulate and rebuild my way round everything.
At the moment you wouldn't even know I had a lathe.

When everything go's back I will have to be ruthless and get rid of some of the unused 'crap' as Mrs.PP calls it.
The contents must only be things that are needed to continue PPWS.

@pxl_jockey I have a separate draw for the 'Vapcap Lady' and as much as I would enjoy seeing yourself and @Squiby wrestling in mud only the largest plank has been earmarked for another job so there is plenty of Bocote to go round.

Mid January kick off is still happening and I'm looking forward to seeing what you've all got planned for me.

Hope everyone had a great Xmas and it's not long until 2018 comes knocking.

Mrs.PP has offered to help @Squiby which sent me into a blind panic and I was reliving the actions and words of the compulsive hoarders you see on TV.

'No I'm keeping that bit of used masking tape it's still got some stick left on it'
Or
'I'm not quite ready to throw that away'.
As I'm going thru everything she bundles into a black bag.

The shed was originally built to store all my parents stuff when I moved my Mother down nearer us, I never imagined I'd be spending so many hours out there.

This is my opportunity to get it set up and running properly once and for all.

Squiby my Grandfather is responsible for my inability to throw stuff away and for the same reasons as yourself, one day everything comes in handy. He had a fantastic shed to explore as a kid.

Lol, that's too funny as the offer of my sweetie's help in organising/reducing of my crap always sends me into a panicked state. Every time we've moved since leaving the states, I've let go of precious junk and it kills me when the perfect project/opportunity arises and I realise that I've previously shed the perfect piece of rubbish. My wife finds the whole "throwing gems away" experience to be invigorating and good for the soul in some way. I think she's a debil:evil:woman who can't see potential.

Best wishes for you on the insulation installation; it is going to be a massive life upgrade. You shouldn't have to wear all your clothes at once just to make our dreams come true! And to have the whole space organised for PPWS rather than fitting it in around other stuff is going to be amazing I'm sure. When starting this thread, I bet you didn't dream you would be spending the amount of time in that shed that you do to keep your fans happy. I would be disappointed with you as a businessman if the VapCap Lady didn't have her own draw! She wields incredible influence in the VC community plus did you see how quickly she got in my head?! Intimidating!

... I'm pretty sure I can take you.
The way you state this with calm confidence scares the HELL out of me! Lol, I knew I was poking a bear and I did it anyway... :mental: Knowing that you split and stack 3-4 cords a year, :ugh: yeah that's enough for me to forfeit. I really like how pp stepped in, like the responsible adult: "Now children, there's enough Bocote for everyone to have a piece." I never knew I liked Bocote so much until I saw my DSXL in RL, I can lose myself just staring at its grain pattern. Very psychedelic! I'm so glad you are who you are and that you "get" my off-kilter humour and are always willing to play!

Such good vibes in the Wood Shed this holiday time! Thanks for letting us hang out here! Best wishes to phattpiggie's Wood Shed in 2018! Can't wait to see what you come up with next! Whoo-hoooo!

I buy most of my wood, so splitting is not a very taxing chore. Plus, these days I use a mechanical splitter rather than an axe. I haunt used an axe to spit wood for years now. The main chore is lifting the log, placing on the splitter, pressing a button, then stacking. Still good exercise that.

I predict that 2018 will be a very very good year. I've learned to increase my lung capacity significantly just from holding my bated breath waiting for the next PP miracle stem to be posted and displayed for our viewing pleasure and our pocket book's dismay.

I can't wait for the New Year to see what he comes up with next!!

Hush @Squiby don't ruin the mental image I had of you in a Rocky workout montage! I believe it's Rocky IV where he goes up against the Soviet baddie? Except it's not Sly Stallone, this time it's Squiby!

Yessir, that Squiby's a real sweetheart and a genuine saint but get in the way of her VC accessories and she will most assuredly put the smackdown on your ass. Believe that.

I only now realised I never shared a picture of the Bocote stem I snagged when thehedonistclub.co.uk had them briefly in stock. I am loving it, took it for a walk today.

I really need to add some more to my collection.

I wondered which one you went for @Cl4ud3 glad you're enjoying the Bocote.
I was looking at the new bits I bought recently, it's got some weight to it.

Had some quality time with Mrs PP and my little one over the festive period and made some progress on the upheaval of the contents of my shed from one end to the other and back again.

The worst of it is now over as the last few days have seen me dodging the rain and wind.
I didn't fancy chasing 8' x 4's round the garden.

I can already hear less noise from outside and I can't wait to fire the burner up.

The hard part comes over the weekend as I streamline the contents. Commonly known as 'throw shit away'.

I don't know if this is the wrong place to ask this, but a friend got out of the wood working game, (sold his tools because of sight problems), gave me a Black Walnut blank, (6" x 6" x 2"). I have ideas but no tools to work it.
I have a Black Walnut WoodScents that would look really cool sitting on the corner of a square BW VapCap stand, and a "sherlock" display on it. Couple holes for VCs and BW stems, and a couple other ideas.
I'm looking for someone to help me make it happen.
Winegums has a box top on his page similar to what I'm looking for but he is kinda busy now. Any ideas folks? Doc

Given your location it would probably be more worthwhile asking @Winegums, I've no idea on the shipping costs from you to him but it has to be cheaper than shipping to the UK.

If it works out too much to ship it wouldn't be difficult to work out a design with you.
Print out a scale drawing and take it to a local wood shop for them to do the work.

NOOOOOOOOO! Not throwing shit away! I dread the thought, it's not really cool shit, is it? I'd hate that, I'm always on the prowl for interesting junk I can use in eclectic sculptures. I still like to create when my health allows. If you come across anything old or odd that's cool, please keep it and I'll get it when I pick up a stem whenever this spring. I'll be happy to talk to Missus P if she thinks you've invented me in order to hold onto to more crap. :D I get giddy thinking about worthless junk!

Really glad you got some family festive time, you gotta grab that quality w/ loved ones, especially the little ones, when you can! I felt really fortunate this year, our teen boys were still excited and happy to hang out and do the same ol' family Christmas/NY rituals. Still not sure how I wound up with really good kids, gotta be their mum's genes. Or they're rebeling against me by being "upstanding citizens" lol.

Nice to know Operation Shed-Overhaul is proceeding despite the crazy winds & rain. 80 mph rain beating against the house woke us in the night. But at least it's no "Cyclone Bomb" like our FC brethren on the eastern seaboard of US are expecting. Even the weather systems get weaponised in America lol!

@duff glad you like it the Sumac has some great colours and grain going on.

What a difference 100mm/4" of insulation makes, it's so nice being in a warm workshop.
It's even nicer when it gets so hot you have to take off a jumper, only to put it and a coat on to go outside.

Which means that it's time to kick all this off again. How does it go again:)

This weekend I will empty my Inbox of all conversations.

All the PM's between myself and your good selves will still show in your Inbox's.

To get on the next round of orders all you have to do is to contact me thru our initial conversation.

The date you contacted me relates to you place on the list so please do not start a new PM.

I'll have screen shots of the messages.

The list will be open for a couple of weeks giving everyone a chance to respond.

When I decided to start up PPWS I never imagined it would take off as well as it has, nothing was planned out. No business plan or any plan for that matter, I'm just going with the flow.

The hardest part is working out how to fit in orders, new stem ideas and other vape related projects so I'm having to prioritise stuff.

This will mean a couple of ideas will be put on the back burner as I concentrate on other things in order to keep everything flowing nicely.

All the ideas buzzing around my head will get done just in a different order.

As ever I have no idea what you good people have planned for me so again all I ask of you is a bit of patience.

@Mr. Me2 I have an enclosure to build before I start orders, after that I will be doing others as I juggle stuff around.
It just means if I take any orders for them they will get done as and when I can fit them in.

I'll be in touch as I need to take a better look for some wood for you, the guy I went to for the Bocote didn't have any pieces big enough other than a huge cap priced at £300/$400.

Okay that's my Inbox cleared so please remember to use the original conversation we had as the date it started directly relates to your place in this round of orders.

I will leave the list open for 2 weeks which should give everyone time to get back to me.

As I've 'spread my wings' outside of FC there has been more interest which has led to new enquiries and offers of work all of which I can not turn down.

Shed is warm and over the next fortnight I'll get back into the swing of it.
There are a couple of things I've to get turned which will help get everything organised and in place for when I get started.

Good things to come over the course of 2018.

Bocote I bought had a get together with my rip saw today.
Top and bottom pieces were split lengthways and the rest got turned into pen blanks.
Xy3U83F.jpg

A while ago I was given a piece of oak from a cabinet dated around 1730 it met the saw as well and I got a few nice pieces out of it.
Given it's age I could forgive the worm holes especially when I filled them with turquoise.

I'm no longer accepting any more orders this round. Sorry.

The response in the first couple of days was all a bit hectic and I'm over my usual number.

I'll be getting in touch with everyone over the next week when I've got everything in place to make a start.

The CNC shop gave me a reaonable price on one piece I want making.

Unfortunately they've been a bit slow getting back to me on another idea I had so I've given them a nudge today.

Fingers crossed I hear from them soon and the turn round time is quick, I'm hoping to include this second idea in every new stem made.

Thank you all for the support and please bear with me whilst I pull everything together.
