Quick question, how does the colored anodising stand up on the tip? Does it get discolored like the silver ones do after they have been in use for a while? Has anyone got that far yet?

Thanks

No they do not get discolored.
They get "dirty" ( brownish tarn ) but with an old (wet) toothbrush and some baking soda,
the original anodised hue can be easily restored .

The anodised tip can (and most probably will ) be discolored
-the anodising will wear off - where the tip abrades with the cap .
But this is just a small area of discoloration, mainly located at the ACME triple threads of the tip.

Cheers.

Just a week ago I got my latest s d s stem, an xl length tree bark anodized the colors of space. Banded mouthpiece section being so highly polished makes an exceptionally pleasant tactile experience for the user. Titanium is the f,ng shit. So is @stardustsailor , so is our new year of not smoking or burning stuff. A friggin amazing stem. Thank you sir and cheers, D. Edit: when you tilt the stem in the light it looks like city lights from space. Only way I can think to describe. I cannot name the color because it can be green/ pink /purple / weird combo color with no name. All at once and again as you turn it. Truly a jewel.

Admission of New Perspective: After coming back to this thread (a few times!) to look at pretty pictures, I really have to admit the neobium stuff is crazy looking and I'm fairly certain that the photos don't do justice to RL holding-it-in-your-hand. They rarely do with these things IME. But I still prefer my favourite Greek VC Accessories Artist to be in one piece. With his limbs, fingers and eyeballs intact and functional. Plus in all honesty, I find that SDS's stems all have a breathtaking quality for me across the board. Of course, some really grab me in a special way; I'm sure we all have our favourite textures or treatments! I'm also fairly certain that 2018 has a SDS Custom Carbless Creation in store for me at some point, as long as some unforeseen doesn't kill my meagre herb/toy budget. I'll find a way! The thing is the longer I wait, this guy keeps adding techniques & trim profiles to his repertoire so that it will be IMPOSSIBLE to decide on just one! I'll just have to continue to come back and admire all the killer stems that SDS continues to send out to lucky souls in our Dynaverse. My crystal ball says lots more success for @stardustsailor in 2018! PEACE

sorry for the bad quality, sun seems to be gone forever here, so light conditions are not the best :(

Anyway, stardustsailor is a great guy, can only recommend him! He not even let me decide if I would like to buy his stem after I could take a look here in the forums, he offered to send the stem back to him, if I didn't like it. And he gave me a discount cause he was not totally satisfied with his work too. Shipping time was fast like hell, took only three days through nearly whole Europe. Sent a postcard from Peloponnes last May, which took 3 weeks, so that was quite a surprise :D

Don't hesitate to get a stem from him, you won't be disappointed!

I love looking at these pictures! I received two @stardustsailor stems shortly before Christmas, but haven't had an opportunity to take pics until now. I apologize for the lighting/focus on these, as my lighting was not too good. I like to take pictures outdoors, but it has been so cold and gray here lately, I had to resort to indoor shots.

These are so much more beautiful than the pictures. The silver one is a 79mm hammered finish, and is quite elegant. The 62mm stem has a green anodized bark finish, and is gorgeous. The texture is much more pronounced than I was able to get in the picture.
