I got the Yocan Hive 2.0 yesterday. Upon 1st impressions , it is tiny in size. I was very surprised. It is super easy to pocket and the function is very simple and easy to use. 5 clicks on to turn on/off , 3 quick clicks will change voltage , you have 3 settings low , med and high. I am unsure of the exact voltage each setting puts out but it is definitely a great addition to any battery in my opinion. It comes with a usb cable for charging , brush and dab tool, two tanks - one for liquids and the other for concentrate plus two magnetic bases to attach any 510 threaded cart to. My prefilled carts would not fit as the opening to slide them into the device is to small for them so i believe you would have to strictly use yocans tanks based on this due to the size unless you can find a skinny cart. I tried a 710 king pen cart , brass knuckles and maxvapor cart and they do not fit. Usage wise i have to say the concentrate atomizer worked very well , i loaded a small dab on to it around the size of a bb and the taste was great , no different than any of yocans other carts as they have been making these for awhile now. I than took some liquid i had made out of one my maxvapor carts that happened to taste great as i melted close to a gram of live resin with just a few drops of terpenes and loaded that into the juice atomizer. The taste so far is not so great , it has a burnt taste to it and i am using the same juice i was using in my maxvapor cart. I'll update more as i get some use in.

Mine failed to deliver as my girlfriend went for a walk at about the same time they attempted to deliver. Excited to post my first impressions.
Excited to hear them man , have you used other carts ? I am interested to just see if mine is delivering that taste. Other than that it seems to be a really nice small vape and the wax atomizer worked nice. I am wondering if the juice atty may just be meant for thinner e liquid.

I'll be joining you fellas on Monday... no interest on the juice side, but looking forward to testing out that single coil! Nice feedback @Justpassedu !
No problem buddy , you should be happy with the single coil , it works well. Unfortunately the juice coil is what I was most interested in as the device is perfect in size to take out .

I received a Hive 2.0 to review, and am still using it. I’ll put out a good review once I’ve had a chance to use it more.

I bought a version one, and I appreciate that they went to variable temperature control of version two, as, for me, it seems version one runs hot for my oil.

So I went online and found version 2.0 for a pre-order price of $20. Vamos a ver.

I never tried a HIVE?

Do they work for CONCENTRATES?

Yes. It's a tiny, single coil wrapped around quartz, I believe. I think it works OK for on-the-go hits. Additionally, the inserts are also 510 threaded, so a person could use an insert on a regular 510 threaded battery in-a-pinch. Options are good.

Yocan review for the Hive 2.0. $65 retail, and replacement cartridges will cost you $39.99 for a pack of 5. You can choose if you want ejuice CBD cartridges or concentrate wax coils.

The Hive has variable voltage, low (3.4 volts), medium (3.9 volts)and high (4.2 volts), 650mAh battery charged via USB. Five clicks to turn off and on, three clicks to change temperature. Fifteen second cut off time. I prefer the medium setting because the hits are smoother, but I do use the high setting as well.

Multi function for concentrates and ejuice, and there is a different cartridge for each. Both are magnetic. For some reason, the magnet doesn’t always make a good connection on the unit that I received to review. I have to remove the cartridge and put it back in, sometimes several times. I’m not sure if this is atypical or not.

I do wish Yocan would provide a replacement wax coil, but they does not. That kinda surprised me.

The Hive 2.0 is very good for small wax hits on the go. Very small, very discreet, and easily fits in the palm of your hand. About the size of a lighter.

This is not a heavy hitter unless you use the ejuice cartridge. The concentrate coil is small and only holds a little bit of concentrate. I’m ok with that, but others may not be.

I like the Hive 2.0 a lot because it hits really good, but it also helps me conserve my concentrates. This is my favorite Yocan concentrate vaporizer so far, even though I don’t use it for ejuice. I really like the small wax coil a lot. I haven’t tried to clean the coil or mouthpiece yet, but I am sure a short 91% alcohol soak would work just fine. I think it’s a great little concentrate vaporizer.

Has anyone found a good way to test new replacement quartz coils? Because of the design, I don’t see a good way to do this because you can’t put just the coil part in the unit without the mouthpiece because of the magnet.

I’m about to purchase some replacement coils, and this problem popped into my head. Thoughts?

Yes just place them on a regular stick battery , that should work so as the magnet can attach or put on without it.

I just realized you can use commercially available oil carts in the Hives. What a great form-factor for hits on the run. The Hive insert for oil indicates 1.3 ohms in my box mod, so I imagine too high a resistance may brake a cart. My commercial metal stem carts work. My plastic tipped, O.pen-style cart indicates 2.8, so I don't know.
