I just flew from LA to Oakland with my vape pen in my luggage. I had vaped most of the c02 cartridge. They did request I remove my sock so they could check me for drugs. I didn't have anything in my sock so I was good to go.

After edibles, I think CO2 oil is the safest to take on flights. I had no trouble flying Denver-SF-Beijing-Shenyang with this small battery in my carry-on. I put the oil in an empty toothpaste tube. I picked up a smaller battery and brought both back with me. I had another cartridge with a bit of oil in it and hit it multiple times in the airplane toilet. It is totally odorless. I dumped the cartridge before going through customs, both ways.

I'm not much into edibles, but on the long return flight I wolfed down a 100 mg chocolate bar, queued up a Dead show from Europe '72 (Wigan). As the jam faded into drums we hit some turbulence. What a nice trippy experience. :)

Flew Canada to US and back with my OmniVap in the little plastic tube. I just gave it s good cleaning before departing and again before returning. The return trip my back pack was flagged for additional screening. They didn’t care at all. They actually wanted to see a few small shampoo bottles I had. Didn’t even bat an eyelash at my OmniVap. Of course they also had no clue what it was.

Why does everyone explain how they got their vapes on planes & trains when they are not illegal, they are not looking for paraphernalia . If you wish to be educational, tell us how all of you got your cannabis on to these vessels .

true and true, but I feel there are a lot of hypothetical people who sneak their hypothetical goods into some magical vacation spots and I ask them how?Hypothetically of corse.

Hypothetically, I think people that hide shit, get their shithole FUCKED and found out.

You hide a plastic bag in the lining of your suitcase or inside a bottle of shampoo, they will want to know what the fuck you are packing.

It is not faas job to regulate mmj. It is their job to find hidden shit in luggage and carryons.
Get it?

...NO TOUCHING!

It’s because travelling with any paraphernalia that’s got residue of illegal substances is not legal. The device is only truly paraphernalia if it’s shown to be used and have evidence in it. No, it’s not illegal to travel with a bong that’s brand new. Once you use it and it has any remnants then the intent of the device goes from “tobacco use only” to illicit drug use. That gives probable cause for as a minimum search and potential seizure. And in many areas, possession of drug paraphernalia is at a minimum a misdemeanour.

VC is IMO the only true travel piece.

Fully 100% cleanable, and breaks down fully to resemble absolutely nothing.
Nothin to see here.
my travel piece is a Titanium OmniVap. And you’re right, simple to clean, tough as nails and easy to take on a trip. I have a VapCap M as a backup. They are not my daily drivers when I’m home, but on a trip it can’t be beat. Not that they wouldn’t make great daily vapes, but my Jr Brick kinda has my heart.

Search on Carmex in these forums. A lot depends on what, how much, where to, and personal presentation. Please don't take this sensitive and caring advice the wrong way, but...

SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS, BRO! ;)

Full-body scanners & metal detectors cannot detect this method, but if you are wearing your Fuck Combustion t-shirt and smell like weed they will introduce you to a much more thorough X-ray machine they keep in the back room.

The issue isn’t vapes. The device doesn’t fall under anything specific. It’s the intent and purpose of the device and if it’s containing anything illicit inside. TSA are looking for things that take aircraft down. If they find illegal substances though the best they can do is report it, but get that TSA agent fresh out of school, and that young cop looking to bring their stats up and you’re looking for trouble. And as much as it seems stupid, they can fvck you any which way they see fit. I know this because for 12 years I was on the job. And in my early years, I was out to get you. So don’t take my kind words as anything but fact. I’m a toker now, don’t have any interest in carrying a firearm anymore. I did my part for god and country. And I do travel with my vapes. But don’t be stupid, or if you plan on being stupid, and you get caught, own up to it.

I'm still looking for a vape I may travel with. VapCap I have traveled with and the problem with that on a sunny beach is you cannot see the flame and it's difficult with a stiff breeze to hear the click. I have two VCs, a Da Buddha and a Vivant Alternate in Jamaica, but now that I have the new ArGo, this may be the one. I could take stems and leave them, or given they are all glass clean them. (Only problem is 99% Iso is impossible to find and you're lucky to find 70%. I may have to try over proof rum.) The body itself does not seem like it would build up much of anything that an alcohol wipe wouldn't take care of.. even on the way to the airport. Thoughts on this one? I'll be checking my ArGo throughly over time, perhaps even with a bore scope to see if there is any build-up

@YaMon why not bring ISO with you when you travel? My friend always brings some back to Mexico when he visits the US so he can clean his Volcano parts.

It's really flammable and while I sure people bring it, I would rather not. Over proof or what they call Fire Wata! may be in order.

I'm in San Jose del Cabo at the moment. I brought along my Yocan Hive 2.0, my PAX 3, and an Aspire CF G-Power 510 threaded electronic battery with the requisite supplies for all to last me 6 weeks. Life is a beach, and then you fly.

I might add that I'm retired with no job nor kids to lose. I speak Spanish after a fashion: I lived for a while in Costa Rica.

So a little word about traveling with Vape or drugs in Europe. European Union. Flying to Amsterdam with a vape soon and asked a friend who works at the airport (not security though).

Every country has their own law and they all take seriously bringing illegal substances to their countries. Even Netherlands. It's ok to do drugs in the country not so great to bring it there.

That's just for the record. Because drugs at the airport are not the main target (European Union at least). Explosives and guns. This is the target.

When it comes to vapes - the device itself is not forbidden. It must be clean. If you can get new mouthpieces - go with it. Especially fyling with portables. If you cannot - clean it.

Don't hide it. Just put it next to your laptop or phone. Mostly no-one will take a look on it. If asked - say its for smoking, e cig or vaporizer. Just act like it's a normal thing.

Taking stash is not recommended at all. It is the easiest recognizable drug to take. If you take some crushed pills in your cosmetic box no one will care probably. But weed looks ... Well like weed.

He said also - no one is really looking on European airports for some people traveling with 2-3g of drugs. Sure - if they see it they will go after you, but no one is actively looking for drugs in the check-in area. They do check the checked luggage bcoz there you can smuggle significant amounts, but very on is not so popular. Plus - most drugs smuggled in Europe are trafficked by cars/trucks.

Dogs that you see - mainly for explosives or just police dogs. Drug dogs are going through your checked bags, but quite rarely. The reason behind it is - many people have contact with drugs over the day or night. Especially from or to party destinations.

Imagine a drug dog on amsterdam or ibiza airport. This poor dog would smell on every 5th person some drugs.

Swipe control is for explosives as well.

Any one able to confirm this? Sounds legit, but this dude works at the airport but not in security. So he has 2nd hand in for as well.

My European experience is similar to yours. I remember Charles de Gaulle had lots of guys, well armed (Israeli machine guns), that would come through the line with dogs while you were waiting for your X-fer flight. They sniffed every bag, leisurely, as they went up the line from behind.

If you want to know what the dogs are up to try to look at the badges of the people that are handling them. Most of the time they are looking for traces of explosive residues or components of their construction.

Which brings up immigration and customs . . . Asia is a completely different trip . . .

Yes. Charles de Gaulle is a big target for terror attempts, so dogs are most likely for explosives.

Since I've been talking a lot recently with my friends about this, as my flight is pretty soon.

Other friend yesterday while having a pint said (he is Irish):

I fly all the time with stuff man. Sometimes in purpouse, sometimes just forgetting to take out my stash out of the pocket. Who the fook cares if you have 2g weed or coke on you.

He told me a story how he was fully scanned and searched through bcoz of a broken firework he carried in his pocket after new years eve. And no one cared about one g coke he had in his wallet. Just the swipe control went crazy bcoz of this powder from a firework.

So seems like traveling with a vape is ... Well nothing.

If it isn't Asia or African countries where you can go to jail for years.

I fly once a month for work purposes and I always bring my firewood 4 with me (along with herb, of course). I keep the firewood in a pelican-style case from 420edc and I keep the capsules separate. I usually tuck the glass/silicone capsules into various pockets in my clothes. I figure it's best to keep this part separate from the vaporizer body.

I bring a small nalgene leakproof bottle from the container store with ISO, a few q-tips, and a daily vitamin container (the ones with individual areas for each day). I keep this all with my toiletries inside a clear ziplock bag. Inside the vitamin container, I keep the various vitamins I take daily along with gel capsules filled with ground herb. the ground herb capsules look exactly like an herbal supplement and do not smell. I only bring exactly how much I will vape and nothing more. a 3-4 day trip usually means 3 or 4 capsules.

I keep the 18650 battery inside a delrin battery holder from countycomm and a portable charger from xstar. I keep these separate from everything.

I've never had a problem. I was searched one time due to the battery/charger/cables looking suspicious. they wanted to see the battery. I said it was for my ecig and they took a quick look at the battery/cables/charger and then told me I was good to proceed.

I always carry-on. US domestic only.

Before returning, I wipe the capsules clean with ISO/q-tips.
