I'm not going to even worry about tc mode when I get mine. Others have reported success using wattage mode, and I plan to use it like that. I have an alien box mod, it's a two battery with a squeeze trigger. It'll be able to go way way way way over what the iheat cartridge will require, but it should give decent battery life. I've read that the tc mode on this device is sub optimal, but again, I don't care.

Maybe I'll have cake on face after I try it, but I use log vapes all the time....I think I'll be okay finding the temp I like and just rock n roll. But yeah, I'm looking forward to this tiny beast.

Honestly, when it works, TC is night and day.

In VW mode it's exactly like a Milaana: forget to count properly just once and you end up with a big center brown spot and the taste is spoiled for the remainder of the session, no way back. Plus when it happens, your brain is tricked into thinking the bowl is nearly done (because of the roasted taste) so you end up not extracting fully (the center spot gets worse and worse over time, since it's more advanced compared to the rest)

You can stir to mitigate that but you end up with a blended taste...Half fresh half crap.

With TC mode you just hit it and hit it until there's no vapor. I stir just once before the end to get what's left on the border (like all stems based vapes the center of the bowl is extracted faster than the exterior ring) I don't even touch the temperature, as it ramps up naturally (or rather you end up drawing harder and longer without noticing, which has the same end result)

All of that to say that when you had a taste of TC for on demand convection, you don't want to look back. MVT, Milaana, Firewood, they don't get much use since I got regulated equivalents like the Project and iHeat. I can vape while being distracted or doing something else, I can vape while walking etc. In manual mode it requires your attention at all times and a single error spells goodbye to the taste.

I’m using an Alien box mod with my iHeat and I haven’t had issues with it. There might be better stuff out there but the Alien has worked for me. As a fellow log vape lover, I would encourage you to try the TC because I find it is similar to the experience you would get from a log.

Same here I bought a smoant charon tc 218 with a great deal 44 € in a shop near my home cause great review and firmware adjudstable TCR. I'm only waiting for my iHeat.
I'll let you now how it's work

Question for mods experts ? Are 510 extensions-heat sink usefull with iHeat?

No wait don't get the Witcher! Might be a lemon but the one I got is defective and no way to make it work in TC mode so far. Fasttech is asking me to send them a video of the problem but I didn't find time for that crap... but I intend to get refunded or get another go if they are ok to replace it.

And yes, definitely use a 510 extension. I'm already having severe issues with my iHeat on the Primo mini and traced that down to the 510 connector. Both were new and the Primo only saw some use with the iHeat and nothing else, no frequent swapping like I did with my evic VTC mini when I tested tons of custom RDAs (cf BULLI thread)

All long time e-cig users will tell you: that bloody 510 connector is the Achile's heel of these devices.

Thank you @KeroZen I was thinking precisely of you when I asked to mods experts :)

I guess I can live with only power regulation, but if TC work in a similar setup (1battery+metal collar. Smoant knight ?) I would consider few extra bucks but for what I think this metal belt is a must for my use

Edit : smoant knight allows only for 23mm cartridge while witcher 25mm, so knight out?

I think that wood/510 connection is the only weak point (correct me if I am wrong but small unit, thin wooden walls..) and I am afraid that an all out/"on top" configuration may be to fragile for my use (carried in bag or pocket cartridge on)

I'm using a lot the I-Heat with a watertool in power mode (I didn't tried again the TC mode since my last issues) and got some hot spots until I lowered power from 28-30 to 23-25W, need +10s hits (I pre-heat 2-3s and heat again for a 10s cycle) but no more hot spots and crazy clouds!

I prefer to use it like that cause, dry, I can't handle this stream of hot air for a so long time without to cough like hell... so I increase power to get thicker clouds faster... and the hotspot appear (with the bad taste) and I ruin my load. With water I can manage this very long hits more easily for sure!

A bit too dark someday but I like my hobbit house (my previous dog was called Bilbo)!

This room was originally the place for the animals of the farm.... that's our living room now.

About the I-Heat, airflow makes a big difference, if very wide you'll get airy hits, if too restricted you'll get hotspot. Smaller loads works better and may offer the option to vape a load without to stir it.

I'm awaiting a blackwood stem from Alan too... it will pair better than the stem I got from Pipes.

Sorry for the back to back post but I want to share how much I like this vape under some conditions:
- water filtration (helps to handle the hot vapor)
- small amounts (avoids hot spots)
- more Watts for micro loads (28-32), less Watts for larger loads (20-28)
- stirring needed except for micro-doses

The I-Heat is sadly difficult to use dry for me, hot vapor, stirs and the separate stem don't make this vape a good candidate for vaping "on the go"... but it's a perfect micro log you can carry around. Although I still hope the blackwood mp I'm awaiting for will fix my dry hits issues!
I remenber to like the dry hits while using the device in TC mode, I will try again but encountered some issues with this mode despite some success in the beginning.

ps: I want to confirm and say you "sorry sir" @KeroZen the wood shield might become very hot if you chain hits without any pause, although never tasted the wood at all and most of the time I take 1 and half or 2 hits per minute. I didn't noticed the hot shield cause, with my Evic, I haven't to touch the I-Heat shield while in use. Not a real issue imo.

A quick question please.... Is the new firmware from the Tubo would work with the Evic Mini and the I-Heat? Is it a true upgrade?

@KeroZen did you still downloaded this upgrade? did it help for TC mode and I-heat?

Someone asked if I could make a 18mm male to 14mm female adapter so they could use their Touch tubes with the iHeat or any other vaporizers w/ a 18mm female connection. The answer was, yes. I recently purchased a tool that allows me to make them. Here is how it looks in satin wood. It can also be done with cork.

The sleeve helps keep material from falling out when stirring. It will also work with any of my 14mm WonG tubes. A great way to micro dose.

I have one but it looks different. Actually I have adapters from Alan for a variety of vapes and they are all beautiful and work well. Also love the whip.

How can we find out where we are on the list? I'm recovering from pneumonia so can't vape right now but I can hardly wait to get my hands on an iheat.

Finally! Soon I will have the possibility to try portable on demand convection (and from one of my favorite vapes maker), no more truth than: if you relly love something learn to wait :)

I am very excited about my new iHeat arriving soon. Will post pics for sure. Really love convenience of the Witcher box combination. Out and about, it looks very *eCig*, sorta like hiding in plain site.
