Am I seeing things correctly, the HexNail is on sale for $150? Is there a new unit coming? Is that the reason? Someone please advise as I have had my eye on this for awhile now

The are working on a screen less model I don't believe they are taking buys for HN02 round two yet.

It is 150 now , 150 at shipping. There are only a dozen left what i saw. Then theyre doing 25 more at regular price of 300 right now

May be I'm wrong but so far as I've understood it's just a different due date for payment:
150 at once and further
150 at shipment!?

Yes but if you look at the site the $300 is crossed out and then under it sats $150? So that had me wondering? Shouldnt it still say $300? Was it at one time $600 and $300 due to hold place and $300 due on delivery? Its very confusing how they have it on the site. @HexNailAva can you help me out with this? Thanks in advance.

It isn't confusing you're just reading into it too much. It's $300 total, 150 down now, 150 when expected the units will be shipped.

It's written out on the site :
"The Red Queen (HN-02) - Reserve Slot [50% Down NOW / 50% Due @ Shipping - $300 Total] "

$150 now and $150 when the item ships , totaling $300.

It is slightly confusing due to words like Sale and on Facebook the price showing as $150 was $300. So there is confusion due to wording here no matter what is written elsewhere, also the down price is slightly over 50% and asks for a shipping payment too when that is usually asked for in the second with shipping.

Thats how I felt. Seesm silly to cross out the $300 and put "SALE" $150. Unless as I stated earlier it was at one point $600 total. The word 'SALE" makes it confusing. Thanks for the clarification everyone. Guess I got a bit too excited.

Hey Guys,

Just an update. The software portion is taking them a bit longer to nail down and so things are still in a holding pattern for shipping out the new units. It sounds like they are all built and have been getting tested, but they keep finding issues with the software. Fix one bug to make 2. When they released the first units the software and hardware were not completely vetted and so they ran into lots of little issues that they quickly corrected. But it also cost them a lot of needed time and resources. So this round they are taking the slow and cautious approach, so they do not send out the newest units to find out there were some fundamental issues in the new OS that needed to be surfaced. I am not an employee of HexNail and am just a devoted customer that wanted to pass along the latest gravy as Ava and Liz are deep in bug squashing mode.

The hardware end of things is solid and it is the software at this point. This is also why you see the latest round open as the hardware is squared up and they are just working to nail down the new OS, so it will be solid when released

Also please understand that this is just 2 people and a dog doing all of this. So to me, they are tackling the issues, just with the speed that 2 people can. I know they would gladly hire an army of people to help. But until funds are flowing like rain. They will only be able to work with the speed of 2 (Super Awesome) people and a dog(Also Super Awesome)

Hope this helps anyone that has been waiting for their units to ship

Really appreciate the update! So are we just on hold until further notice or is there an ETA?

We are all on hold until further notice. Part of the issue is they keep setting ship dates too aggressive and crush themselves in the process of trying to meet the goal. They are close and I know this will be double rainbows for all of us, once they lock the software down more. I am biting at the bit like the rest of you. But also appreciate the delay to make sure we all get a solid product that really relies on the software being solid.

If I get more info I promise to pass it along (Scouts Honor)

I always thought it was Liz & Ava, plus 2-4 minions. Not sure why. I'm even more impressed now with the company's products and reputation in the community. Product roll-outs will always have hiccups, especially when software is involved. IMO, it's so much better to wait for a solid product that's nice to use than a rushed release that's buggy and crashes. Some companies would grab the cash and let the customer continue with the beta test. So when they say "We want to get it right" I'm thinking "I like this company"

Not taking anything away from the dog's contributions, but knowing it's only 2 people working as hard as possible to make all you fuckers (of combustion) happy should make everyone here extra-patient. Thanks @mutten840 for the update!

Sorry to say but with each disappointing update I wish more and more that I had chosen an August Haus. It doesn't feel right to release a new round of orders when people are wondering where in the world their $300 product is.

While I can't say anything for the...."modern" business models a lot of folks seem to use these days as Im right there with you on pay for product thats ready to be shipped and used.....
I will say it'll be worth the wait and as someone who's had both a Hex and Kube for a while now I can tell you hands down no contest the Hex interface is , IMO much better, much more robust with more features that are being added to via continuing software updates....while the kube has, to my knowledge NO update implementation/plan/roadmap/desire whatsoever so no separate nail tunings other then its quartz banger with a temp offset that never changes.

The Kube is a great controller, I just feel the Hex is significantly better (if you're looking for more than just heating a coil)

As I'm anticipating my HN-02 that's on order, I started looking at stands to use my old iPhone with it. I plan to keep the phone with the Hex Nail as others have suggested. While looking at stands, I saw quite a few simple docking stations that are little more than a weighted base and a lightning plug for an iPhone on top. That got me thinking how cool it would be if the Hex Nail was offered with an optional dock outlet on top. Then you could leave your iPhone docked on your Hex Nail and if you needed to fiddle with temps or whatever just grab it off the dock charged and ready to go.

Hey all I'm having an issue with my HN-01 and would appreciate some feedback. Lately my nail will not find and maintain the temperature I set. Running in coil mode if I set temp to 600 it will fluctuate between 570-630 while never landing on 600. This issue has only just popped up so I am not exactly sure what changed. Recently I have had a power outage while the unit was plugged in and running, perhaps the software was messed up somehow? Could someone please tell me what the PID settings should read roughly? I have not changed these but perhaps the power outage messed with something. Is it possible to reinstall the latest software update? Thanks everyone, couldn't find any contact info on the hex-nail site.

Try changing the coil preset and back to your preference

My 30mm bucket w/ Obsidian just shipped so looks like I'll be ready to go when my HN-02 arrives :D

My 30mm Liger with obsidian and sapphire dishes arrived today and I just finished setting it up. Coincidentally, my AH coil also arrived today. I'm 3 dabs deep in some Agent Orange rosin and my rig is hot and ready for the red queen's arrival.
