Multi-brand HEALTHY RIPS FURY

Hi. New member, but long time reader. I thought I had an account before but I can not access. Anyway, I have several vapes, but looking at the Fury 2 and the Xmax Fog as a unit that ticks all the boxes for my needs. I have dynavap, boundless CF and the CFC (junk), an Xmax Starry and an Xmax Pro 2. I am a microdoser or small amount user - usually all in one short session. Don't care about visible vaper, just getting relaxed. I often need to be discrete.

Any comment between the two. Both seem to have a convection component which I like. Prefer the battery of the fog, but not the lid and the mouth piece. Is the Fog too much like the Starry, and thus too much overlap?

I was hoping for a better sale on the Fury 2. 10$ is only 6.7%. Half as much as Thanksgiving sale. BTW, I see PIU is seeing the Fury 2.

Thanks.

Welcome! We mentioned it a bit in each thread, but not really supposed to compare models here, just talk about the one the thread is for. So best to mention more Fog specific questions there (it is like Starry only in form btw not function). I will say that the mouthpieces on both units are far from perfect imo

However Fury2 gets you the wpa which is an ideal microdoser, though it also does seem to work well with smaller loads on its own (plus these new capsules). Of course it has a smaller chamber than the Fog (which can work with smaller loads too thanks to the convection, also its early do maybe there will be more accessories for that too eventually)

In use, Fury2 smells and people can notice, still unsure about Fog in that regard but seems to be a little less so, but Fury is more stealth hiding in your hand as you hit it. Battery life ofcourse better in Fog with larger replaceable batt, but can get a usb powerbank for Fury if you need...

Honestly it seems like you know the ins and outs of each, so just need to decide what is important features for you. They both will feel like a huge step up from the session conduction units you listed, Fury2 might feel a but more unique just because you have xvape experience already

It’s like riding the gas tank down, even when it says empty, it still gives you time to get to the station. (Which I remember reading in an article a few years back is a very “American” thing. Gas tank empty gauges are made differently for every country. In USA, Auto manufacturers build in a hefty cushion, while in Germany, empty means empty!)

Don't get me wrong, as a german I like the nimbus about the precise and quality driven germans but SOMETIMES ;) even the germans are just as casual as everybody else in this world ... if the gas gauge lights up ... even in germany there is still some kilometers left in the gas tank ... at least about 50km should be possible with most cars. Be asured, because else I would have walked many times.

Maybe 50km sounds like a ridiculous small amount for others though, since unlike in certain US areas in Germany there is always a gas station around the corner since the country is tiny compared to the States or Russia or Canada and lots of other countries.

For not being completly off topic. My Fury2 went into my girlfriends hands, because she liked it so much. When I got it, I loved how great it performs without anything to consider, it even was such a smooth experience that I almost considered the Fury2 boring. Now I am just missing it and see how wrong I was with my assumption.

I especially like using the Fury2 with the WPA, because of the better taste, easier cleaning procedure and the small chamber. Great move from HealthyRips to offer both WPAs, I was afraid they would only offer the new WPA with the bigger chamber from now on.

Even with all the hassle ordering from the States, I am considering a second Fury2 ... or the Fog ... can't decide, because I really enjoy the Fury2 and know what I get but I am also curious about new Vapes and the Fog looks interesting as well. Decisions, decisions ... :\

Thanks Shit Snacks (not sure I fully understand your user name - ha ha). That helps. Sorry if I broke any rules.
Couple more Qs
1. Is the air from the Fury 2 hot? I run a straight glass off the WPA on my CF and the air gets a bit warm with long slow draws - Fury looks like a straight shot with not much distance from the bowl so wanted to ask. Does convection help in this regard?
2. What stops ground material from getting in your mouth when you draw? I did not see any good pics of a screen or anything between the mouth and the bowl - maybe a courser grind is better.
3. Does the heat go high enough on the Fury 2? I ask because if in a cold air (snow/skiing), the very cold air seems to affect vapes and you really need a good heater, particularly for convection and less for conduction, IMO.

One other comment is that with these convection vapes, it seems like you could load a full bowl (which I usually don't for a session), take a couple hits, shut off the vape to stop the heat, take a couple more hits to cool everything down with cool air, and then preserve the remaining material for a later session. Like if on the ski hill, would not have to reload. Do you think this is correct?

Cheers.

Haha my user name and avatar are from the animated comedy series Archer, a fun show to vape along to, hiiiiighly recommended

The air is hot, as you said no cooling unit or anything, so depending how high your temperature how hot the air will be. You can control this a bit with your draw technique, taking small puffs, or even using something like hemp fiber as a filter. However yes I do find convection smoother than conduction, but technically there is even more hot air involved.

There is indeed a screen in the mouthpiece, never seem to get herbs in my mouth (both vapes have mp screens, they are steel and easily cleanable, but yes both do work best with course or medium grind to stay cleaner longer) and the wpa has a built in glass screen.

I can't speak to the cold air yet, seems it is fine, could affect battery life perhaps is all. Haven't seen anyone taking the Fury2 out on the slopes yet but @BuzzDanklin tends to with his vapes...

And yes, that is correct, but taste suffers, and may work better with a full load. On demand vapes do this better, session vapes whether conduction or convection just aren't as efficient used this way in my experience.

1 - The vapor coming off the Fury2 is surprisingly cool. The mouthpiece is a straight shot on top of the bowl and there is no cooling unit - but the vapor is somehow very smooth and does not bother your throat at all. When you pack the bowl directly and use the plastic mouthpiece, the vapor is 'thinner' which is excellent for being discreet. The unit is really easy to palm and sort of looks like one of those pod-based ecig systems, so I think it's pretty stealth.

2 - I use a basket screen installed inside of the stainless disc screen in the mouthpiece. This keeps small particles from coming through that screen - it catches a lot of stuff and requires some attention/cleaning as it will fuck up your airflow if you let it get dirty. I don't use anything in the WPA - I maybe would if I could but it's so tiny.

3 - I do wish that the Fury heat went 20 degrees higher. I have not yet used it outside in the cold, but I do run at 430 a LOT, which is not something I do with any other vape.

Everyone's definition of microdosing is sort of different I guess... In my experience, the WPA (v1; waiting impatiently to get v2 on order!) holds about 0.05g to 0.06g full and the bowl holds about 0.10 to 0.13g

The WPA is the better tool for microdosing, and can product really thick vapor - but it is not very discreet for public use. You will be shocked at the amount of vapor you can get on your first draw with the WPA. Especially if you crank the temp and give it a few seconds to warm up before you draw.

I don't have a Fog - but I do have a Starry, which is a great vape!

I heavily favor portable vapes with replaceable batteries, but I would still vote Fury2 over Fog :luv:

Cheers

Volute of Vapor
Hi @Dirtrider , I don't have the Fury 2 but only the first iteration. In another hand I get the Fog.

Here my thoughts:

- Fury produces a very smooth vapor, I never cough using it. Vapor density is pretty good but taste is on average since a lot of conduction is involved here (hybrid convection/conduction)
- Fog is more convection vaping which can induce slightly harsher hits but better taste/clouds, it's instant heatup (no wait), replaceable battery

Both are tiny and are very nice to vape around, Fog mp might be pretty hot if back to back hits or very long ones. No issue with the Fury mp but in another hand it looks dirty pretty quick and the light is not stealth during the night (IDK if the Fury2 get the same light or if it's possible to turn it off), not a big issue although.

If you are an experienced vaporist the Fog is very nice but require a small learning curve cause the very long and deep hits needed in order to get thicker vapor, short puffs don't produces any vapor. In another hand the Fury is more a no brainer, I like it to vape while speaking with friends since it doesn't require very long draws and since i never cough with it. Both get pro and cons....

@HealthyRips.com already mentioned the Fury 2 has a stealth mode, most recently mentioned 1 page back!

Hey guys,
I'm looking into buying one of those small Furys.
Can anyone point out the new features or differences the Fury 2 comes with compared to the Fury 1? Price difference isn't that much between those two.

Is this device available at any reseller in Europe? I only found it at HR official shop, the Fury 2 at least - Fury 1 got some muich cheaper clones available in Europe.
Shipping from USA would be so much additional costs including the shipping itself and the taxes/customs what has kept me from buying it so far...

not much difference - mainly 3-klick on vs 5 klick and abillity to turn out the 'light'
some say the silicone is less smelly, but didn't notice any smell at the fenix mini

afaik there is no HR reseller at all - yes with custom etc it costs in the EU over double the price of an identical rebrand like the fenix mini...

Cloudy...
Thinking about getting one of these, how will you compare it to a CFV? That's my main stealth vape ATM.

My main problems with the CFV are battery time (I think they're close, right?) and specially the super slow draw needed... Is the draw in this one better? Will I be able to walk around puffing without loosing a lung? lol
How harsh are the hits with such a small air path? I have sensitive throat/lungs, but as long as it isn't harsher than the CFV it should be ok.

I get 6-7 4m sessions out of mine (for comparison I get 5x 4m sessions out of fully charged 2600-3000mAh 18650 on my Vivant Alternate). The hits are surprisingly smooth. Draw is airy (in the good sense) and not restricted.

Thanks for the reply!
So you would suggest to get a rebrand?

Any experience with a specific one, there are more than the fenix mini I guess?
But fenix mini seems reasonable at around 89 €.

hey,
im new to this forum so hello first of all. this is a great place. as many europeans importing is no option for me. too much cash and id feel uncomfortable importing something like this (it all gets checked in my country). the fenix is readily available here in the eu. can the guys who own both be so kind and chime in? are there any differences except for the better cured silicone, the stealth mode and added gadgeds?
thanks a lot!
