Sticky Brick Labs Vaporizer

I have both, and I've always preferred the OG over the Jr. Unless portability is important, I'd go with the OG. It's easier to control how much heat the material is getting in my opinion, and you don't have to keep the flame as close to your face and hands. It also has more cooling power with the larger mouthpiece, but there's just no concealing an OG brick like you can with the Jr.

:sherlock:Well..

He claims $100 shipped in CONYS and $135 shipped to Germany.. seemed reasonable, as it’s a shipped brick
I would just by a fresh one from Sticky bricks labs ... does not seam like this is going to be a saving for you and the LAST VAPE I would wanna travel with or ship anywhere is the sticky brick because your never going to get it cleaned spotless

part of its charm is the fact it ages like a good quality hardwood pipe and the flavor profile will change over the years

I push out a 0.3-0.5 gr of residue after maybe 2 to 3 weeks of use so I dont think it would ever work to ship it safely

also @StickyBricks treads their customers good so better to have their warranty then not

Hey, all. New to the board, fairly new to vaping, very new to the OG Sticky Brick. All three months of my previous experience were with the Magic Flight Launch Box, and what I've learned with that hasn't really translated well to my Brick. I'm getting really inconsistent results, ranging from being hit with a truck to sadly waving at the truck as it passes me by...and it all comes down to my technique, or lack thereof, I'm sure. I'm either getting smoke from minor combustion, or very slow and subtle effects after prolonged use, and I want to change that.

I'm currently using an Honest torch, filled with 14x butane, with the heat intake from the Jr., and with a second screen covering the top of the bowl. I've been trying to watch the mouthpiece for vapor production when drawing, but can't see it well enough to determine the results. I very rarely have visible vapor -- which I'm fine with, frankly -- and I'm red/green color blind, so I can't even detect the difference between green and well-vaped when checking the bowl unless there's obvious charring.

Any advice on technique, even of the most basic sort? I'm in my late forties, with no previous experience with either cannabis or tobacco, so I don't doubt that I'm doing (or not doing) something both obvious and stupid with my draws. Have a new Scorch torch, which I'll be using this evening, and I'm hoping it will work better than the somewhat unreliable one that I'm using now, but I'm certain that there's more to it than that.

Welcome! I had the same problem you are describing but what I found was my flame angle was not right. I was more heating the inside wall of the intake from too steep an angle than letting the heat take a straight path. Do you cock your intake off at an angle so you can actually see what your flame is doing?

I generally set my inner bright flame at about .75” to 1”. I let the lighter outer blue of the flame dip into the intake and the tip of the inner light blue just sit at the opening.

Then I slightly move the flame up and down and side to side just a few degrees of angle until I feel the heat and taste my bud starting to cook. All while just sipping lightly. Once I know I’m getting something I inhale harder, not too hard but more regular than a sip. Able to get giant clouds this way. It almost seems as if I’m combusting but when I check it’s perfectly vaping instead of catching fire.

Oh and I’ll add that once I’m sure I’m getting vapor, as in I can feel my lungs filling up, I will start to move the flame away slowly until I’m ready to open the carb and end my hit. Other than some light scorching every now and then I’ve never combusted a load.

I've just discovered that no, I haven't been angling it properly. If you're not keeping the base of the completely flat, you can easily see the vapor flow. Painfully obvious now, as well as perfectly shameful.

The torch was the problem tonight. Scorch Torch was a mistake; every time I had it at more than a 45 degree angle, it went into blowtorch mode and shot out a flame six inches long. Going to return it to Amazon, i think. On the other hand, I'm more certain than ever that my existing torch is just a little too weak to do the job properly.

On the other hand, the creme brulee torch that I have is way too powerful, even with the flame at its lowest. Any good torches out there, at a reasonable price?

Honestly, and I’m very sure I’m in the minority, I use the torch that came with the Brick. I do have a slightly larger one that I got before buying the Brick for use with my Dynavap, but I don’t really notice a huge difference in performance. Both are single flame. I am sure there are better torches but I Just chose to get good at using what I had instead of spending more money. The Hornet torch isn’t too bad. A higher quality or multi-flame torch might help with having to fight finding the right angle, but I guess I haven’t really felt the need to find a different one.

I do have a big torch I used to use for dabs with my old glass dab rig but it’s wayyyyy to powerful to use with the Brick

Could very well be that I got a defective one; on its highest setting it's creating a flame smaller than the Scorch does at its lowest. From the brief moment that I had it working, I've rediscovered that "hit by a truck" feeling. Going to wait for a bit to replace it, damn the luck.

Even with a tiny flame, you should be able to get Performance. Once the flame is slightly in the opening of the intake, just inhale very slowly with the carb closed. It might take a few seconds longer but you should be able to choke yourself out with vapour regardless.

I'm from the honnesto club

I use honnesto always !! the SBJ came to me without a torch!

I am so happy these torches I buyed a few more spare and I have not had to use, I like is to reliable, turn on the first shot and I do not like your little deposit so much.

Finally say that there are variations in the strength of the flame jet between my honnesto torches but all are perfectly valid some are more powerful than others and there the difference

Oh, I feel like an idiot now. What really threw me was my experience with the MFLB, and the need to keep it continuously level. Just tilting the sticky brick so that I could properly see the mouthpiece made all the difference. Why it took me so long to figure this simple thing I have no idea...but missing the obvious is a gift of mine.

Being able to see the vapor flow has solved all of my issues. Still having issues with the torch, but that's easily solved.

Excactly, I can use the SBjr with a big flame and get a pretty big hit right away, but with a much smaller flame, about 1/3” inner blue, I can put the end of my torch nozzle about 1/4” or even closer to the intake. Then I kinda swirl it and change angles, while I sip really slowly until I can taste the vapor on my tongue, then I inhale more a medium speed until the end of my hit. This way I can feel the temperature ramp up and if it gets too hot, instead of inhaling harder, I pull the flame back a bit to modulate the temperature. I keep the carb closed until my hit is over.

So it’s kinda the opposite of how some others recommend to do it, modulating the heat with intake speed, VS my flame control method, yet achieves the same results. And the best part is I don’t get dark hot spots this way. Also, if I’m taking more than one hit, I don’t let the intake tube cool down between hits because it retaining heat does help on faster subsequent hits as it heats the intake air faster on the next hits.

But with a smaller flame I get slower extraction, I feel as if I’m actually temperature surfing my bud a tad which does enhance effects for me. Just a personal preference, your results may vary.

I just got the hydro add on for my OG and it does not.line up correctly. The section that uses the butane is about .5 inch from the ground and the magnets don't match up so it is all crooked when attached. Is it supposed to be like this?

I am very tempted to buy the OG  and I wonder:

- There is no OG Brick thread, why? :hmm:
- I see that in comparison to Jr is bigger, his bowl too? Is it possible to use the minimum amount of flowers of a Jr in an OG Brick? :sherlock:
- far from using pieces of glass with my bricks, is my choice correct by the OG instead of buying a hydroBrick max? :science:
- someone can give me a negative point of the OG :goon:

Thank you

Piping in to say I ordered a black walnut brick for my brother and they took right to it! (They've used my Daisy/Lily) Super fast shipment before a trip and the torch even came pre filled so they could try it instantly without me spoiling the surprise of needing butane. Thanks again @StickyBricks & @Slow Draw McGraw! Oh and amazing work as always, it's fucking beautiful

I agree, it’s all about what works for you. I started with the flame control method and on a whim decided to try using only draw speed to control it. I found I preferred that but I still use flame control from time to time. Like several times a week. :D

What I love about the Sticky Brick vapes is the manual, customizable nature of the performance they provide. It almost feels like you’re playing a musical instrument. Cue the song Baker Street (thanks for making that connection in my mind @StormyPinkness and @WakeAndVape):

Hitting this shit reminds me of a saxophone

@Vapor_Eyes this is what @HellsWindStaff inspired me to try last night.

Ha ha man I love this one. This immediately started playing in my head when I saw it:

Also, if I’m taking more than one hit, I don’t let the intake tube cool down between hits because it retaining heat does help on faster subsequent hits as it heats the intake air faster on the next hits.

That’s an excellent observation and something I never considered.

Yes, you can use the same small amounts as the Junior in the OG and still get good performance. It takes about .03 grams to cover the screen which should give you a couple of huge hits.

For myself I prefer the OG to my Hydro add-on. The add-on is amazing when I want to use water but most of the time I prefer dry. The OG is so smooth dry feels like you’re using water anyway, just with better flavor.

A negative point? The OG is so fun to use that you might end up consuming more material, even though the OG is very efficient. It’s not very portable either. I look at it like a cordless desktop if that makes sense.

I’m still in love with my OG, it is powerful, tasty, and efficient. I enjoy holding it in my hand, using it, and looking at it.

I could not resist. The VAS was too strong after several exciting days with the Junior. I have just ordered an OG in Walnut at thehedonistclub.co.uk. The Junior was already that convincing - I cannot even imagine how much fun I will have with the bigger brother! :) 2017 is ruining me. I do not even dare to tally up my investments in Vaporizers this year. But I have a good feeling that I have built myself a great base with excellent vapes for every situation. Fuck Combustion, I am set! :)
