Underdog Log Vapes

Hey now Dogs,

Took delivery of my dog a week ago today. It was door to door 7 days. For the Canadian pack, COD $19.95 tax to the feds & $8.95 Can Post processing. At least they didn’t open the box.

Really had no troubles getting started, dialed up to 10 and hit the glass stem. A few more hits, a few more stems & adjustments. The finite control helps when switching strains. So happy with my choice. Cannabis, heat, wood & glass. It has organic elegance to me. For me, all the flavors & effects are simply controlled.

Got my first wood stem ever, as a gift with my order. Lower settings for sure with those stainless tips.
Gonna take a while as I'm pretty attached to glass...

Thanks for letting me share

Word up, dude. That's cool. They are a very generous company, that's true. So here's the thing with the stainless steel stems. I feel they work best through water. I have found that the direct draw nylon stem fits well enough to make a seal with my 14mm female pieces, though your mileage may vary.
I really thought I would prefer glass, but I really enjoy the quick and thorough extraction once you get it dialed in how you like it. I have mine all the way down to 8.75v and I do it through a dry bubbler. Oh baby the taste is there, I do a long pull and it comes out even and light brown. The thing is I save THAT and reuse it

Long time no visit, despite telling anyone who would listen about both this great site and the glory that is Underdog - guess I have been really enjoying my old spalted tamarind dog for many years. Still works great despite the occasional drop, fluctuating temps from old/resoldered wall wart, and the rare inhalation of flower due to screen blowing out on the previous hit! (I tend to inhale a "line" to load it up each time; find it packs it nicely, is really easy to micro-calibrate dosage, and is also amusing to my friends!)

Turning my best friend on to cannabis in general, and the dogs in particular. He's probably getting one of your walnut specials, and I see much has changed since I last was here. Going to up my own game by getting a VVPS (greater temp control, and prolonging my old dog's life FTW!), and get both of us a bubbler to preserve our aging lungs.

That being said, I have grown very accustomed to the flavor from glass stems, ease of use/cleanup, and the elegant simplicity of my setup. My goal here is to find something that allows use like I already have - no hoses or inverting the doggie to sub for flame, is actually effective at cooling/moistening the vapor, keeps the terp flavors up front, and is discreet: i.e., does not look like a bong / can be easily thrown into a tube of alcohol after uses.

Came up with these two after a night of searching:

https://www.dhgate.com/store/product/pinnacle-pro-glass-smoking-water-pipe-vaporblunt/184494946.html

http://www.planetvape.ca/f-bomb-jet-diffused-micro-bubbler-tube.html

You can see what I am going for with these. I know that everyone recommends the d020, and saw the brief discussion a year ago, but what can I say? After graduating to vapes after a lifetime of bongs, pipes, and joints, I like the esthetics of loading up a GonG my usual way, and just fitting the bubbler on it!

Can I have my cake and eat it, too? Thanks in advance for some guidance.

Yeah I used a DHGate hydrotube before I got the sidecar bubbler. Might want to get some spare GonGs if you really want to go that way though, I've broken one by taking a hit, lifting the bubbler away and assuming the GonG was still tight in the joint when it wasn't. Now I only do that with the NonGs :p

So many great looking logs available for the Winter Sale - I might need to sit this one out for something special next year.

Are the 14mm long gong expected back in stock before the sale ends?

The short Gong is actually pretty long. Pictured below from the top down is
1) 18/14 male reducer
2) 18mm Arizer Gong
3) 18/19mm Underdog OS Nong
4) 14mm Underdog short Gong

Thanks for the pic. It looks like that will work as a direct draw stem also. That's how I use the long ones. Switch between glass and direct draw.

I wanna get one of the 18/19mm Underdog OS Nong when they're in stock.

Also a good excuse to order another glass piece from dhgate since I don't have any 18mm glass.

I'm a huge fan of the 18/19mm OS Nong, but what I really want for Christmas is an 18mm Gong* for my Underdog.

The things I would do for that glass.

Ordering new pipes is always fun too. I'm trying to avoid Dhgate until the boxing day sales - as I say that I have 2 pieces on the way to Canada.

*so there is something I would like even more than a standard 18mm Gong - I want one with a glass screen to keep the flavour even more pure (like an Arizer Solo stem).

Just received my walnut underdog from the recent sale.

First of all I had high expectations, and they were met!

The device is smaller than anticipated but don't let that fool you. Two snaps from the direct draw were a game over for me. I'm about to do the third and take a bunch of pics.

Thank y'all for the amazing quality and service. Let's just say I may be going vape 24/7 over combustion.

What wood did you get? I am actually trying to make it to the 15th for my check to buy my first dog...

@Stu happy birthday! That dog is beautiful! Reminds me of a nice shotgun  enjoy it brother, you deserve it! Way to go pops.
Thanks, KF. My dad's hobby/side job is doing custom checkering for gun stocks, so I asked him if he could put his skills to use on a vaporizer. After I explained what a vaporizer was (and that his son was actually a giant pothead) he was surprisingly open to the idea. I hope to get him to try it out himself someday. He's in his 80s now and has never partaken, but at that age fucks start flying out the window so I'm hopeful that we'll have that father-son vape session at some point. Being legal here now, he may be more open to the idea of cannabis. That's my hope at least.

coming across an issue i haven't had in the past. tonight my dog seems to have begun to go intermittently cold. but will warm back up after i bump the VVPS, seems to have to be above 13.8V to get hot.

i'm assuming this is a VVPS issue? i've had this VVPS for quite a few years. unfortunately i seem to have lost my wall wart so i can't test to see if this problem is due to my UD.

thinking i might go ahead and just grab this unit to replace what i have now if these are signs of the beginning of the end.

edit: i've also found my VVPS dial to be more sensitive than it used to be if that means anything
