Im not in a hurry (the vom still works so I’m good): nevertheless are the screws somewhat special made for the vm?

I suspect so, in fact I think I saw the drawing posted? Whatever they are, they're sure to be metric making Digikey a poor choice of supplier I think? For sure 5/16 is all wrong. In SAE designations it's probably a 00 size thread forming screw of some sort, perhaps 'sheet metal' based on the threads?

Custom screws like this are made on 'screw machines', automated machines the make them from wire stock at very high speed. In times past they were kluges with cams and all sorts of stuff, these days a computer runs things unattended. Setup costs can be high (hundreds even thousands of dollars) but the per piece prices is usually less than 'off the shelf' screws in smaller volumes that carry profit from 'middlemen'. I can easily see a guy like René understanding that and to have ordered a box of them made years ago, clever fellow he is.

But very importantly, the thread pitch will be much coarser than machine screws (intended for nuts or threaded holes in metal or other hard materials), the risk of 'stripping out' the wood in VM is very high it it's not the right thread pitch (and diameter) match.

My advice is to stick with the factory screws. I bought several (they were like half a dollar?) with my first VM, therefore (since I have spares handy) I've never lost one.....

noticed today that my bowl wiggles a bit if I touch it - even if the mid section is put on it wiggles a bit. What could this be? I don't remember dropping it or something like that - the inner screws seem to be tight either..
Any ideas?

i did a comparison between all my vapes trying to find out, which can get my the highest with the least amount of material (i am a 20 years hardcore bong hitter) and guess what? vapman on first place.

Did you try it with the station or with the torch (or both).

This is my main issue with the Vapman, even with a lot of care if I use it often (especially not at home) the pan invariably gets loose. Usually the problem is in the area where a tube connects to the pan.

If your Vapman is one of the newer ones with the larger hole I think you can just buy a new pan and install it by yourself.

That's my understanding as well. I also believe it's Mojo's fault? That is he suggested this excellent (and like so many obvious.....looking backwards.....) improvement on the little fellow.

Is this a great Forum or what?

I'm microdosing with the Vapman, real tiny amounts. I've always liked the taste of the vapor with the Vapman and I use a Magic Flight Finishing Grinder for the herb as I find it works very well with the Vapman. Recently I installed a concentrate pad because I thought I will have to clean my Vapman less regularly and... I'm amazed how great the vapor tastes now. I use a Station for heating. That setup is a dream. I mean, it doesn't change the effects at all and if I'm in a hurry I will most likely use a Vapcap - but this is what taste is about. And efficiency is top anyway.

That’s a Vapman lighter with a selfmade wood adapter.. handy. Who else wants one now? Slanted side for coolness and better grip

Here’s my new stash box. It’s primary for usage at home so I should have gotten a bigger case ;m mine us 18x10cm

Thanks for the kind words.. reason for this „invention“ is my vision in the dark is fucked up badly and beside it’s easyness it makes me not worry about burning myself again.

From a technical point of view that tube would not make sense, would it?
The wood on wood seals pretty well depending on pressure.
If one puts the lighter inside a encasing to mjffle the sound that’s gonna be dangerous.

Fun fact, around 1/3 if the hole is filed by hand: I wanted to get the hole really snug fitting.

No, it's a lame attempt at humor. It could no doubt be done with the right materials and could probably get a fair bit of sound reduction, but it would not be 'dead quiet' for sure. After all, firearm 'silencers' and auto and lawn mower mufflers have to deal with very high temperatures and do so just fine. For 'dead quiet' I think, we're back to something electric like the station?

Don't worry OF, I thought it was funny. Your humor is kinda like my friend's...if you don't know him, he just seems awkward haha

Been on a week long tolerance break in the Bahamas which means the Vapman comes out to play as the first sesh. Running low on herb so the keif also comes out to play. Year or so ago my friends and I poked a hole in a 14mm screen and that slips around the center post of the Vapman bowl and makes for a perfect keif screen. Such a great way to vape!

Happy holidaze

Poor fellow. But he's got at least one friend to share it with. Not everyone does. Humor only works if it's shared I think.

Best regards for your 'get acquainted again' event. Nice to have a plan. VM does not disappoint.

Could someone walk me through how I should clean the middle part witch acetone? From what I have read here acetone does the job 100% and I think my Vapman (middle) is ready for such a treatment. But I would like to do it the right way - is it soaking in pure acetone for 30 minutes, then put it out in the sun for 48 hours? No rinsing, just taking out the wooden piece to let the acetone evaporate? Nothing else to do? It seems too easy.

Blurry I know,
So was using it around Silvester and all of a sudden the metal secure-stick came along with the hole mid section off.
Pushing it in isn’t working that well either, as it keeps falling out from time to time..

How can I bring it back to service ?

I've had my Vapman for 3weeks now. It's looks are both delicate and sturdy. The craftsmanship is second to none , It must take the patience of a saint to create each one. It boggles the mind how the less I use , the more I taste. Let me explain, it's as if I'm a K-9 and I don't smell the marinara sauce
but I detect the tomatoes, onions, garlic and spices individually! Could it be the strain? Only Rene knows. The flavors and effects are extraordinary yet simplified.Yes I know my comments may sound 180 degrees apart at times but this Swiss Miss continues to be a mystery and who doesn't love a good mystery? Rene, your creation is a work of art & mind.

You can use the splinter of a matchstick. Push the splinter in the hole, then put the metal stick back in. If the splinter has the right size you won't need much force for it.

It is as easy as you wrote: Remove the filter and mouthpiece from the middle section, scrape off as much condensates as possible with a small knife or similar. Make sure not to touch and harm the rim on the bottom where the mid-section stands on the heat protection ring! Cotton swabs with acetone or ISO can also be used for removing the coarse part of condensates. The wood can now be submerged in acetone. In order to economize acetone, use the smallest container possible. For a higher degree of cleanliness, the process can be repeated by rinsing the wood part in fresh acetone.

Acetone evaporates very quickly, the wood will be dry almost instantly and there is no need to wait for days for the wood to be dry. With a dry burn you can make sure, all the acetone is evaporated and your vapman is ready for usage again.

FYI, cleaning with acetone is not a must, it makes most sense when traveling and having to go through baggage check.

I wish everyone a Happy New Year!:)
