Discontinued Zion vaporizer

@AJS Get off the phone. There are Zions that need to be looked at. 2 Hours, 2 HOURS! that is longer than my 8 week repair wait. I wonder if I should bug RBZ but that interaction takes away from working . I had mine for a week and it seems like a dream I once had but now cannot recall.

Free the broken! :rockon::myday:

So, I know I'm gonna need more batteries when this baby finally gets here (the ones I was saving for her were sitting too long and had to get to work in my rotation to avoid damage). I have been getting HG2s the last couple times. I know there are new choices and there are always the Sony's y'all keep mentioning. Should I try something new (for me)? Battery sale ends soon and I may as well take advantage...

You have been recommending those for a while. I guess it's time to try them out. :) It was those, not the Sony's I was thinking of.

The fact that they say 15A is not a concern?
I use the HE4s that I had from well over a year ago (new and unused, just stored) and the 2 HG2s that I believe came with my Zion. Don't really notice a difference between em, but haven't really measured either.

Been using the small inlet trick and it's been pretty damn enjoyable. It took me some time to get used to but I'm finding it much more consistent, can pull harder, and flavor is thicker. More testing though!

Yeah recent testing seems to have me back on the "mine is fine" train, thinking it is an airflow issue. I tried covering the intake hole for the first third or so of my hits of a full bowl, and it gave me the performance I expect vapor-wise, milking 50-60% on the dial quite effectively. Smooth and tasty with that strong signature, even extraction, we'll see how this helps with battery life too since it helps shorten my preheat time. Going to test more if this can even eliminate my preheat altogether. Since you got such consistent performance before without the intake adjustment, I am curious how this restriction affects your useage @AJS, since I feel like now I may be getting what you were getting before... Hopefully I can find and fix this air leak myself, should prob try that cork trick near the batteries

Mine arrived back with new glass and a new potentiometer. The new pot is very stiff and firm compared to the action on the original which was super loose.
Light visible vapour on the low dial setting, and power increase as it goes up :tup:

now the negative:- Parcel marked wrong and cost me over $60 in fees, with the cost to send it back once I'm now down well over $100 just getting this sorted. :mad:

Well at least it works properly and I have a full functioning unit.

And mine is exactly the opposite - pot turns much easier than before and actually has some play in it, as in it is not firmly seated and can be wiggled back and forth a bit. Not level to the top of the unit, either. *sigh*

Won't actually get to test it for a while, though. But I'm none too pleased with the quality control of the fix at this point. Not sure how or why it would be sent back (although I was quite pleased that the turnaround was so quick) in its current state, working or not.

I am not impressed with turn around...
I shipped mine sept 23 still no zion

I don't want people to think that because the button action feels different that there might be a fault. My pot might be feeling tight now due to it being right up against the vape body and causing extra friction.

My original button was lopsided and loose, but that might not have been an issue apart from cosmetically.

I would contact Ryan as Zion QA repair and testing is being done now and yours should of been looked at :(

It's not economically feasible to build. One of the parts that go into the Zion have sunset as well.

That's too bad. It seems like the perfect vaporizer. I'm in Canada and it looks like Planetvape won't be restocking them (they seem to have been "out of stock" for a while). Does anyone know where I could get it at the best price?

mine was shipped to wrong address (again! -- computers are hard, especially when the span of product delivery is a span that encompasses life change) but now en route, I hope. I'll repeat my plea: I work in the customer experience industry and will provide some free pro-tips. You can do so little to provide so much if you do it smartly. This is, from my perspective (and who cares about that?) a total shitshow BUT 1) the Zion is technically great (yay!) but customer-wise support is not. Anyway, still eagerly awaiting my NOT ALWAYS RUNNING HOT unit.

Mine has arrived!!! It is beautiful. It came too early in the day for me to really try it out, but I DID load it up for a quick hit and it was very nice. I will play with it more later tonight.

Zion has ARRIVED! :cool:

:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

One of those spalted capped ones perchance? :drool: you deserve it bud, about time! Looking forward to your thoughts:tup:

Meanwhile mine is headed back for a confirmation check after all, just gotta be sure its properly set and better to do it now while other Zions are still being worked on. Then it can be all Splinter focus before a Milaana2 :brow: Anyway here are some shots of that stunner #69 who remains nameless for now:

:love: I must say again the build quality on this one really impressed me, everything so refined compared to my rougher betas, then the wood with its popping grains and smooth as silk feel, knob turned perfect and everything truly had that high end luxury feel it should imo. Looking forward to its eventual return whenever :luv:

Yep! And it's a stunner. I'll drop some rough pics but I only have a phone camera and a cluttered work environment.

It is silky smooth to the touch. Ryan really made an effort. It hits very nicely and does a significantly better job with hot spotting. I haven't pushed it yet but it may be a little cooler than my hot beta. Gets to temp about twice as fast. I had no problem getting solid hits at about 75% which is where my beta is set. I love my Milaana, but I really like not having to feather the button.

So far it's all good...

It is really a shame that this wonderful vape will have such a small audience. It is still the best vape I have used and I am very happy to have it, but I feel a little guilty that so few will have a chance to get one. Not too guilty, of course. :p

The good news is that RBT, knowing finally that this would be a small run, didn't cut back at all and followed through making these really artisan handmade vapes we will be proud to own. I am very pleased.

Added: I guess the OTHER good news is there is still Milaana, and there will soon be Splinter, so all in not lost if you missed Zion...
