Discontinued The Grasshopper

GHL said that they have new components now and that the flashing/flickering blue is normal on the pull and it should still produce vapor.

Apparently I have a new model now and when I tried it the first time I was soo annoyed by that flickering blue light, as with my first Hopper this would vaguely indicate trouble and would like initiate hot backend, short battery life and so on. Not this time. I googled it, found it's supposed to be normal with the "new" units and everything's fine (til now). I get a solid 3 bowls per battery and only have warm backend after several draws. I'm loving it, but frankly speaking, wouldn't be really surprised if it went to sh!t anytime soon. As I said: my current mindset is that I enjoy the time we have together and have some backup if it happens.

you know how if you leave the grasshopper, it normally shuts off by itself, leaving it in a 'standby' mode.
OG GH's you had to click it 'off' and then click it again 'on'. Two clicks.

New units don't do that, you just click it once and it will turn on.

In an earlier post I mentioned my new Hopper did not have this bug/feature of heating up when you just move the clicker a few mm so it gets contact. Seems it's a bit different than I thought. I let my new Hopper lie on the table til the lights got out and there this bug/feature was again. As I wrote earlier, I'm not too fond of that in general. So without thinking too much, I just clicked it to turn it on, and waited until it shut down again, and was back to what I wanted: no heating up without a massive click on purpose. All hail the new backend!

Oldest boy alive
Here is avb from old hopper on 4,5 left and on the right is avb from new hopper on 4-5

4 seams nearly same as 5 but it's kicking ass with longer battery life

Well, at least I know the flashing is normal now, though I really don't like the flashing. I find it a bit distracting and it reminds me of when my Grasshopper stopped working properly. I think it might be triggering me...

But with that said, the vapor is still not even close to what it used to be. It used to be a monster, now it's not that impressive. And I don't trust it.

I'm getting exactly what I got with the 'old version. Same as @Hjalmark I think the temp is hotter at highest setting than it was before. I use it at a lower setting and enjoy the longer battery life and have the intention of not letting any of what I read here trigger me. I'm trying hard to relax ;)

My friends call me "Menz"
i am milking a bubbler right now with my grasshopper on 5. i have two hoppers i did have one from the first round from the indigogo campaign. that one had 2 or 3 warranty repairs abd was eventually replaced as i got a new serial number. i bought a second when i temporarily lost my first one and it was purchased in the summer. it had one warranty repair one week after receiving it when the back end exploded on me when i was adjusting the temp. that resulted in them replacing it with a new one, again new serial number. both that i have now have been working fine. my lights do flash blue and i can say when i had my OG it was solid and only flashed when the batter was getting weak. so they did make some kind of change

Still "working" but the battery is already a bowl and charge which is even more annoying when your USB charger has never worked. Only shop in country I know who stocks them is out of battery stock. The proprietory battery nonsense is almost enough to bin the device but the output as long as it keeps working work in great. Current battery charging every bowl set up can't keep up. Moving very soon so didn't wanna order from overseas as I don't know address of where I'll be when they may rock up, but may just have to ask a friend or use parents address because wanna keep using but can't use it like this.
Any links to shops with good priced battery in stock?

SSV w/ Standard HC, LSV HC, thermovape all,
UNFORTUNATLY I HAVE 2 NON WORKING HOPPERS.
i got back the Ti unit and it lasted 2 loads, i am very dissapointed i have sent back several times already, it is IMO the best hitting discreet portable, at least for dense clouds, any onw know of another portable that gives same thick clouds, i am in the market again which is a shame because if this vape was reliable it would be my top 3.. Silver Surfer (With Life Saber HC and GG whip with a DDave 18mm screen at the top for loads) Enano-(Clouds on a budget load,) then my Hoppers ( both currently not working) so i want something that hits like these beasts do

(yes, edited a bit from the original haha)

You may remember that after a year and change, my Ti GH finally stopped performing the way it did. It would still vape, but weakly and it no longer milked my can nor did the AVB look done.

So, I blew it out, I cleaned the threads, I sacrificed a virgin to the gods (and you just don't know how hard it is to find one of those these days), all to no avail.

I despaired of having to send it to Hopper and go through the RMA cha-cha with them.

But, I did think to order a new set of batteries first to eliminate any further possible causes. I had been using my second set of batteries, GHB-2s, and I religiously rotate and charge the four batteries I keep in the line up.

Now understand, it wasn't that I wasn't getting as many loads as before...it was that the vape was not running as hot as previously...by a long shot.

Got my batteries this past weekend, topped them off in a Nitecore charger, and ran it last night with a PFE in a stevenlmz79 FC-188, 14 mm, Mobius knockoff. The new ones are GHB-2 also, but with what appears to be a thicker sleeve on the outside.

Seriously, performance was back to brand new.

I did try different batteries out of the four when I was having issues, but since they were all rotated religiously they all had the same number of charge/discharge cycles and apparently they all got puny at the same time also.

So, if you are finding your GH running a bit cold, you may want to consider new batteries before RMA.

Not really. Sure batteries wear faster if they get hot but still I use my Grasshopper as session vape 95% of the time and my batteries last for a year or longer. Depends on how much you vape I do on average two bowls per day. It also cools down really fast. Batteries are too cheap too change the usage pattern for them imo

I've ordered (and kept spares) of brand new batteries so I could test this most of the time, but that was never the issue for me. Glad it was for you! :)
