Boundless CF / CFX / CF-Hybrid

I just ordered the CFX and it's going to be my first vaporizer. Any good advice how to pack it and how to draw to get the best results? I will do micro-dosing (.1G)
I take any kind of advice though.:)
It doesn’t really matter how you pack the cfx it works well. I find a medium grind to work well. I do recommend to do the ELB top hat mod and get rid of the stock mouthpiece screen. It will help improve air flow. It doesn’t matter how you draw on it you can sip it or rip it and get great hits.

How often and HOW do you guys clean the CFX? I will use it with the stock screens.

i use the elb's with mine and find that i rarely have to clean it. The oven stays really clean. After about 6 or 8 sessions I soak the mouthpiece in iso for a little while.

@dll the stick screens gunk up really quick ..invest in some evo screens ..but in the meantime..after you finish a session wipe the mp screen off and blow through it a few times to clear it out and prevent any clogging....daily cleaning and wipe down will help keep it clog free until you get the elbs

First, this thing is an AMAZING deal, I got it on price match through PuffItUp for $109... So for myself, I've found that if you simply remove the cotton from the included wax/concentrate pod and put your dry herbs in there, it creates a higher percentage of convection with its little feet creating additional space from the heat source. This also saves on having to buy the overpriced baskets/screens for other devices. I'm not knocking that method, this is just a good option to avoid spending $20 on other baskets/screens.

Also highly recommend simply using inexpensive 1/2" screens to replace the original one in the mouthpiece that has just a few holes and clogs easily. In conjunction with using the included pod, the only thing that has to be cleaned is that top screen itself. It has so much airflow you only have to clean it rarely, maybe every 10 sessions by just scraping it while still warm and ball that into your flower for next session. Using the included pod does take up a good third or so of the the available space, so you can put in a very small amount or fill it fairly loosely to maintain airflow. For multi-session portability, go ahead and fill the main chamber AND the pod for a 2nd load, but the more you use the main compartment without the pod means you will have to clean out the bottom of the main chamber. Also replace that original bottom chamber screen with one of the 1/2" screens there to improve airflow as well... So for only $1.59 for a dozen screens shipped, you can mod yours very cheaply for less cleaning and more airflow. Using the pod, I do 1 session for flavor at 380 and a second at 420 to get most of the good stuff out... Hope this helps!

I highly recommend using 1/2" screens to replace the stock setup in the mouthpiece. If not, you will have to soak that round metal piece in alcohol quite often. The replacement screens are super cheap and can be scraped easily and rarely clogs. I also recommend using the included concentrate pod for herb, just remove the cotton and it creates more convection over conduction for free and leaves only the top screen to clean.

Question for the masses: Has anyone tried generic cupped/bowled screens for the mouthpiece? They have 1/2" around with a 1/4" deep cup pre-made on eBay HERE and also ones for "Crystal" pipes HERE that look even more refined with a deeper 0.3" deep cup and finally THESE look like are good quality but maybe too fine mesh and will clog quickly? Maybe an interesting option over the ERB or whatever... (I hope clean, affiliate-free links are OK for reference?)

Thanks for all the replies! I live in a country where the vaping is not so known and this will be my first vaporizer so it's hard for me to play with screens. I have ordered extra screens with the cfx from the website (not so known website) but there are no details about them.
It seems like I have to search on ebay or something. I live in the EU btw.

Edit: I started to read all the pages of the topic and everyone said the mouthpiece screen definitely has to be changed but now i saw a video where the guy mentioned "this is the updated cfx screen". So the screen has been updated since the cfx has been released? How is the updated version? Is it still that bad?

I'd have to look, but I just got mine a month ago and unless it's old stock the mouthpiece screen is still far too small. It's built in to this piece that drop down loosely, it's an easy one time process to spin that loose and replace the entire assembly with a screen that pops right in flat. Also keep in mind the mouthpiece itself splits apart easy with the included tool, it just has a silicon seal.

So, honestly, if your point is that you want far less maintenance, just buy the 1/2" screens. It will require cleaning quite rarely while maintaining decent airflow.

So how much will I hate this product (CFX specifically) if I don't get the ELBs or do any sort of screen modification? Just leave it how it comes?

You'll be cleaning it often. The CFX is my daily driver with the ELB's. Without the ELB's, I doubt if I'd use it much. Low maintenance is a big factor for me.

Afternoon Boundless folk. I don't own this particular vape and I'm not sure how good the sale is but I just got an email from PotV that says:

"Boundless just dropped the price on both the CF and CFV. The pocket-friendly, huge cloud blowing CF is now an even better deal at $109.95 and the full convection portable CFV is now $149.95."

Broke down and ordered a cfx! Hope I love it! Are you able to cutdown how much herb goes in the chamber with the basket mod? I don't like using .3-.5. I like using much less than that. Thanks :)

It’s a great pure convection portable but the battery life sux and you really need a good set of lungs to get the most from the cfv. It’s definitely worth $60.

Hmm I guess I can just settle with the cfx and keep it at that. I saw a post of ou saying your wife would kick you in the balls if you bought another vape. I laughed and thought the same thing for me ahha

The battery sucks but if you have a good high current USB charger, you can really get enough juice back in for a session in 15-20 minutes worth of charge.

So as long as you are close to a power outlet it's fine. But for going out partying all night, yeah it sucks. Great vape otherwise.
