They currently call them small and medium. Even though I microdose, I opt for medium as they are easier to handle IMO.
My pics on photobucket disappeared/ held for ransom / but pics would help.
Wire basket plus rimmed screen to contain herb plus Flexicone snap on top with ultra-thin degummed hemp fiber filter in Flexi to catch those nasty micro-dust ABV bits and keep them out of your bubbler or mouth/lungs.
Herbie rocks with this setup, super clean chamber

very cool!!! do you get a little less vapor clouds with the hemp filter by any chance?

I spin a thin thin hemp fiber disk, like the Milky Way :)
When it's time to change it I notice mostly ABV dust and not that much resin. But you can then vape the hemp in the chamber.
The vapor clouds are not noticeably less with hemp filter. The hemp is only a few strands thick.

Another effect is my hydratube stays much much cleaner and the resin is like pure gold. Prior to filters, looking at hydrtaube with magnifying glass showed major amounts of ABV dust in the resin :(

i just ordered my 3rd volcano solid valve set up. the place where you pinch the thing to put the bag on gets weak over time and the the mouth piece just falls off.

i go through about 20 bags a day but i'm not real happy with the quality of these things.

my 3rd one in what a year and 1/2 or so? i might have a problem. :)

Apologies if off topic but would an Herbie or a Supreme compliment my collection better? Leaning to the Supreme cause so much cheaper but the $400 Chongs Choice is really enticing to me.....I've always wanted a Herbie and feel it may bring something different to my collection but I'm not sure.

That steak and lobster comparison really got me thinking lol. I have an EVO.....love it.

I don't have any real experience with the Supreme.

There are quite a few differences between the EVO and Herbie but the biggest difference for me is session speed. In an earlier post I mentioned that with the Herbie I can empty the bowl, brush it, fill it and get that first draw between 30 and 45 seconds. I could finish an entire Herbie session in the time it takes my EVO to reach the 12 o'clock temp.

Best of both worlds example.....The first session of the day/night I reserve for the EVO. I take my time, savoring that superb EVO tastiness (I prefer to use it dry). While I was waiting for the EVO to reach temp I get my ELB filled/inserted and I also fill up the Herbie for the day. After the EVO sesssion.....When/If I need to top off my high or blast off all over again the Herbie is already filled and waiting to vape at warp speed. I push the Herbie's vapor button and in 10 or 15 seconds or less I'm taking that first full fledged hit. Dinner done and want to get a couple hits in before the food is cold...Herbie. Movie is starting in a minute and want a couple hits...Herbie. Spur of the moment a friend says he's picking me up in a few minutes...Herbie. Feel like filling a bag ....Herbie.

Everyone is different...but for me the Herbie isn't what I use for flavor chasing....the EVO is. If we were talking Tequila I'd say the EVO is a perfefct frozen Patron margarita and the Herbie is a quick salt lick, lime and shot. Either way is great.

It looks like you already have vapes that are close to the Supreme end of the vape continuum.
Herbie would be a great team-mate to your Cloud EVO.
Herbie for super quick sessions and precise temp control and bag option and fan option which is also great for bubbler/hydratube/whip "turbo boost".

The CC unit is also a great deal as the aroma therapy port on the regular Herbie is a waste IMO--never use it!
$399 for a great piece.

My daily driver duo is miniVAP and Herbie. Your EVO and Herbie would be a similar pair and an awesome pair.
IMO--Herbie all the way :)

Hi everyone,

I'm considering the Herbie as my first ever desktop vape due to the great reviews and potential of the unit.

I do have a few questions though, because if I do pull the trigger on one, I want to make sure I get everything I need for it to be perfect (accessories wise).

I tried to find a compiled list of things to buy; however, came up empty handed. So hopefully this post can help some people while also getting confirmation from the Gurus here:

Herbie Accessories List:

Going to call on @MinnBobber for help, as I'm essentially going off of all your posts to combat some of the apparent downfalls of the Herbie. (Apologies in advance, but lot of your previous posts with images are broken).

I think this is the complete list; however, I think I also need a male adaptor for my water pipe, just not sure what mm right this second.

Thank you all in advance!!

PS: I would be picking up the Chong's Choice model.

So I have a couple of questions in addition to this. MinnBobber, your help is much appreciated.

Where is the hemp fiber placed and is there any useful technique to know about when placing it?

I read that you said the 7th floor tubing will not attach to the V2.0 adapter... but I am also reading that the 7th floor tubing increases the vapor/draw significantly. Is there a way to use the 7th floor tubing with the V2.0 or is it not needed with this mod, meaning the original Herbie whip works better with this mod? If I can use the 7th floor whip, is there any drawback to using a 10 foot whip> Is it hard to draw from? Seems like it would be better for 2 or more people....

I read that you said you don't have advice for a Hydrotube that will go with this setup.... does anyone have a solid recommendation on an affordable HT that attaches directly to the V2.0? Is there an HT that will also work with a 7th floor whip attachment, or would they be two different setups entirely?

Thanks everyone, I have tried to back read a bit to figure all of this out, but I have limited time to spend. Sorry if all of this has been answered, but maybe these questions will help someone else in my boat reading this thread. Good stuff all!

Edit: Also... can I not order the Minivap flexione mods living in the United States? Where do I order these from if that is the case?

Why is the Chong's Choice verbalizer $100 less? Inferior product? Is it different at all? My sister and her bf just moved in together and I am trying to figure out what they should do.

RE miniVAP Flexicones- @stickstones is the US connection. See the miniVAP thread and note that he has a very recent thread so easy to find. Flexicone is used with bottom half of Herbie bowl and the V2 connector. OR-- it can be configured with bottom of herbie bowl + Flexicone basket module + hydratube directly mated to Flexi.
With V2 it's a more secure connection.
Superb vapor quality with a hydratube.

Chong's Choice is a "budget model" but all the top quality construction is there. It's just missing the "aroma therapy port" where you'd put some aroma oil (like lavendar) and Herbie would kick out lavendar vapor to fill the room. I never use this unnecessary feature. CC also has a feature the higher priced model does NOT have---ability to preset 4 temps/ your favorites. Great deal vs regular

Water use is basically 2 options:
1. my much preferred is direct connection with hydratube direct onto Flexi or V2.
2. whip connector to bubbler. This offers better ergonomics of bringing bubbler to you instead of leaning over hydratube.
For me, I'd rather not use tubing vs direct connection.

Stock Herbie whip is somewhat small inner diameter so some opt to rig with bigger diameter tubing. Originally I did tubing to glass joint to bubbler but now love the hydratube .

VapeXhale is having 20% off sale and they have very nice hydratubes AND they have "seconds" on sale too for approx $100 minus $20 sale plus almost $20 shipping so about $100. Fully functional but cosmetic imperfections.
I don't own any Chinese HT knockoffs so cannot advise on those

Degummed hemp fiber goes in my Flexicone lid/cover/ the top silicone cone. I have some great pictures BUT they are in Photobucket which went from free to big big cost so I can no longer link them here. I think I can attach pics to email from my computer storage of those pics??? If you PM me your email I can try to send.
Flexicone module is assembled: bottom wire rimmed basket, screen to contain herbage, tiny hemp filter above screen in the Flexi, Flexicone. It all snaps together into a "module"

Is anyone having problems actually ordering the flexicones and baskets from miniVap?? The transaction keeps getting declined, I emailed the company in Spain I believe multiple times. They told me to try and purchase as a guest instead of registered user. I tried, but to no avail they also sent me a link to make the purchase and the same issue. Any help is greatly appreciated. My credit card is valid so no issues there, I also dont want to use pay pal because someone once hacked into that account.

That's just the company covering their ass and following government rules/regulations.

Queries relating to age are to ensure you are responsible for reporting your eligibility to own the vape as per the government set rules. Usually greater than 18 or 21.

Queries relating to information and data protection are related to any personal info you pass on as the company has to follow guidelines to protect individuals personally identifiable information. They probably ask you to also sign a waiver to allow them to forward that data to 3rd parties maybe for warranty info or just plain marketing.

Statements relating to the legality of purchase laws by state are because not all states have legalised the use of cannabis so the company are covering themselves and ensuring its the responsibility of the individual purchasing to know their local state laws.

Basically, you have to be over a certain age to buy a vape, if you use it to imbibe cannabis its your responsibility to make sure you are completely within the law to do so and finally any personal data you provide like name, address or whatever within their accounts is your problem, if you use shitty passwords and your account gets hacked its on you, not them.

The last one is a little bit of a grey area as any company regardless of what is signed is expected to protect personally identifiable information within reason. However the user is also expected to use reasonable measures to protect their own information, such as proper use of passwords, not sharing accounts, etc....

It's all sounds like standard stuff.

More than welcome.

Some companies have more mature policies in place to protect themselves than others. Most of the time it comes down to the company absolving themselves of any responsibility in case a user or government agency tries to take them to court.

It's not always the case but usually the larger to company the scarier the T's + C's appear but it boils down to:
  • They own your data or meta data and can sell it or use it to do data mining
  • You are responsible for using their products / services in a legal fashion.
  • You are responsible for your own health not them
  • If they are scientologists then you agree to everything they say or do for your next X many reincarnations <this last one is tongue in cheek, don't take it too seriously> :p

I don't grind at all. Just cram a nugget in there, hit it gently a few times, pop it out and crush it up (if it's not ready for the 'crumble,' flip it over and hit it again), dump it back in and buckle up! The next two hits are more intense than anything I get anywhere else.

Fuck, I gotta go do that...

I do all that shit at 390 and then start temp stepping from there. But you hit it anywhere you like. If you're a low temp guy, go low!

Oh...and by gently I also mean don't huff on it. If you crank on it you'll get a dark spot and we don't want that. So massage the taste out of it.

Do you use the Herbalizer bags or did you mod to volcano? I see alot of people use the solid valve. The easy valve set up now alows to make your own bags. It seems the easy valve step up works with less moving parts opposed to the solid valve. Especially having to use the yellow o ring so the Herbalizer plastic dosent melt with the solid v. Either way it seems we have to hold the bag while filling, though the easy v seems more like a form fit.

I could be wrong this is from doing alot of reconnoissance work reading reviews and forums, my unite gets here next week.

I just use the bags it came with. It’s not like they’re a failure. At least they have a valve so even if one leaks it’s not as bad as a bag with no valve. Mine worked fine on the few times I’ve used it. No need to run out and get a bag mod without using it first, I think.
