1) Yes it does, but external is better for the batteries. 0.5A is fine. Most 18650 chargers do 0.5a or 1.0a I think, and 1a is faster, but it's worse for the batteries longevity iirc.

2) Not really. You can kinda go as big or small as you want, but if you're going to be doing .05g or less regularly (or just want a "capsule" like system) I suggest making at least one of these little guys:

3) I prefer a coarser grind in my tubo. I use kannastor gr8tr coarse plate.

Perfect, thanks a lot @muunch

You answered all my questions and topped it with the capsule system idea. Since .05g is indeed my prefered amount for a session this will surely come handy soon!

i am wondering what is the difference when micro dosing with or without that little trick.

I vaped my first bowl (.05g) just now and can imagine a slight difference. When stuffing without the trick the herb gets soaked to the top screen, so the distance from the heating element increases nearly an inch from the place where the herb would be with the capsule. So you need more heat for the same result and this could stress your throat a little more. And it adds the convenience of a capsule capsule method of course.

Awesome device by the way @funkyjunky, slightly bulkier in reality then I hoped but the build quality and the perfomance make up for this easily. Really like the buzz from this device and it is a joy to hold in the hand.

Been cruising 400°-410° with the whip lately and it is stupendous. Awesome bowl as is the bent stem.

Jetzt muss ich nur noch rausfinden, wie man die Whip reinigt. Iso?
the whip can be cleaned by running hot water through it, attaching a mouth piece helps to get the hot water from tap into it. will make a video of this. in the same manner iso could be used, i havent. without cleaning, they should hold up to a year with daily use.

on other notes:
am pretty busy with the dual batch. have all the parts in and am currently building the heater sides. next week i should finish complete assembly of the first ones! id say we are on track!

have a good second half of the week everyone!

I havent even updated the firmware yet and I'm absolutely loving mine, it's so smooth and tasty that I end up vaping wayyyyy more than I thought I would and then melting into the couch. has anyone tried DDave's vapor cooler with it I love using the whip at home but its not the most portable thing ever.

Portable I use the ddave with it double screened, at home it's over water, again double screened.

It's a wonderful vape, no doubt about it

What do you mean by double screened? 2 Screens just on top of each other? Or do you mean the rimmed basket screen "mod", where they are doubled?

I'm strongly considering buying the ddave cooler just for dry vaping. I got a water bubbler from dhgate for about 10 $ which I'm satisifed with - gets me much bigger clouds than dry vaping with the bent stem. But it's too big to take outside. And the taste isn't that strong compared to dry use.

Some folks insert a screen into the ground glass joint fill that screen with medicine and use a rimmed screen to keep the vape's oven clean.

I recently switched to this method and I like it very much.

I use the @DDave cooler dry and I like it very much. If you order from @DDave get the rimless screens from him. @DDave has a 20% off for Black Friday.

This is the best way to explain it....

There are three ways I pack a lot of my 18mm glass including the tubo.

1. just a rimless screen. it can be orientated in either direction in the glass depending on how large of a load you want.

2. Just a tophat or rimmed screen. This keeps the load close to the heater and is great for microdosing.

3. An internal screen and a tophat. This is probably the one confusing you. There is an internal screen that gets pushed down into the neck stopping the herb from being sucked up. You cap the glass on the end with a tophat so that you can leave the herb very loosely packed and it can't fall out.

Hope this helps a little, sorry for the bad pics, trying to get some yard work done before the rain!

never wanted to beat that one ;)
Hey @funkyjunky, I got a few questions about your store.
For the glass-whip-adapters:
What diameter is the part that fits into the d020? I want to know if I can use this with a different bubbler which has an opening of ~1.5 cm. Maybe someone with a d020(-d) can answer the question also, because it is supposed to fit in there :)

The same question goes for the bases, the diameter of the standing glass is not mentioned on the product side.
If someone could measure their d020 it would be great :)
By the way, those bases look GORGEOUS, congrats on those!

Also what exactly does "pet braided" whip mean?
It sure looks different than the more colorful hand-wrapped ones but seems like a cheaper alternative which doesn't look as ugly as the plain whip ;)

Oh and one more question: there is a picture of the wooden boxes with an additional 3rd (darkest) color on them which is not available in shop, is this on purpose? There is also not really a description of size or what fits in there ;)

It's great to see the shop running and having a nice sortiment already :)
Keep up the good work!

Hey mate,
I own a d020.
The base is 9cm of diameter, and the opening I'd say around 1.7cm.

My Tubo is travelling to its new home, I'll be part of the club soon... :science:

Have a great Saturday everyone!

thanks for all the questions. it helps me a lot to add info to the store.
actually whenever someone thinks, eh, he could/should/maybewants, please just drop me a line, mail, "contact us" on the page or here, thanks.

the bases accept up to 9.5 diameter for the bubbler bottom diameters and the cork adapter will fit 1.5cm to 1.7cm in diameter openings.

exactly right about the pet braided. its a plastics sleeve which is secured with heat shrink tubing, cheaper, better looking than plain.

yea, i had a really low stock on beech boxes to begin with, already gone. will make some more soon. (as well as comboboxes, the two compartment one)
dimenstions are: 8cmx5cmx5cm. i use it as an abv dump box.

lets get this sunday started! :freak:

Hello my Friends,
I have my tubo since a few days now. I love it!!!!
It performs very good. After pressing the heater button a few seconds, you always get good draws out of it. Either with a big load or a microcapsel. I use it around 210 C. A microcapsel ist finished quite quick with a few draws. I needs some stiring fromm time to time.
The flavour ist pretty good all the time. Just at the very end a bit roasty
The vape steam can get quite warm. I dont like that. Because of this i am using a big glass stem( much bigger then the original one). Its a jay hook. With it the vape ist cooled down enough...
I am into vaping since around 4 years now. I have solo and a extrem q. And since around 2 years 2 mighties( one Exchanges with a crafty). And know the volcano and the fw4.
This vape hits really good. I like the Glass pieces building the Air path. Its not for on the Go, cs to bulky and the handling not so easy and out of glass.
Right now its my most favorite vape for sure. ( Have used the mighty only once since then. And it felt harsh.but that was also late in the night, my throat was punished already...)
Peace
Imor
PS. I would like to post a Pictures of my tubo with jay hook stem, but i dont know how to.

Welcome!

Glad you're getting along well with your tubo. I personally use the bent stem, which sucks up a LOT of the heat, unless I'm going through water. I don't mind taking my tubo out, especially now that it's jacket weather. It easily fits into a coat pocket. The tricky thing is, I like to use the capsules when I'm on the go, for quick switching (I'd rather have a few short sessions with fresh material each time, than do a jointpack and hit the same 0.3g all night) and it's a pain in the ass trying to keep track of the little fuckers.

The @DDave cooler also works very good to remove a lot of the heat from the vapor and is surely more ergonomic than a jhook

Just use imgur.com to host your photos. It's completely free and works great both on desktop/mobile.

Cheers

Ok. Thanks for advice with the Pics.
Ok true, its also the Jay Hook, that makes it less portable. But i find the cooling of the original one not enough. I havent used the short one at all till now. Maybe should have them try again.
I would like to have the dddave cooling unit. But sending to Germany is s pain in the ass with taxes and Delivery.

Hello Funkyjunky,

I was doing some last minute shopping Monday since there was some good deals to be had, I was reading through some threads and eventually stumbled upon your beautiful creation, I tried to place an order but applying the code came up invalid. I'm assuming the site must be on Swiss time vs. one of the states time zones?

Will you be offering a similar promo any time soon, or do you offer anything for FC members?

cheers,
Ro
