It really depends on the effect you're chasing.

Higher temps tend to be better for evening and bed time. And lower temps tend to be preferred during the day.

People tend to bump the temp up a little if they are using a water pipe. A higher temp is also used with concentrates but the Solo is primarily a dry herb device.

For the most part I keep the temp at 205 C and maybe bump it up to 210/215 with a water pipe.

I believe most people would say the ability to go higher in temp is something they look for - but I'm not sure how many people are actually vaping that high.

Regarding the cannabinoids - it's not like we can isolate a specific cannabinoid, but using the vaporization charts you can ensure you are getting the ones you want with everything else that is also able to vaporize at that temperature or lower. It will work the same way with any terpenes you are chasing as well.

I put up a video today comparing the Solo II with the Mighty!
These are 2 of my favorite vapes and this comparison was requested often.
I tried to focus on all of the different viewpoints, rather than just harping my own opinion.

It's also worth noting right now you can get the Mighty with glass wpa, glass mouthpiece, and a stand for 296 after coupon.
Or you can get the Solo 2 for 204 with 6 mouthpieces

(coupons are on my website, which I am no longer able to link to here)

It's an awesome comparison. And the deals page you have up is great. Hopefully we can get some Canadian retailers posting their sales (SneakyPete/Vape North will be available soon).

Great work on the video Troy!!

PS
Team Solo is looking for new recruits

Great comparison Troy!! Love your videos, in fact, I usually laugh so hard I fall out of my chair!
Watching you get ripped on screen is hilarious, but you also are giving a great review at the same time.
You definitely have found your calling :)

again,

would you trade in your SOLO1 + 90bucks and get a slightly used solo2 ?

How slightly used? Why are they getting rid of It? What's the battery like, 9-15+ sessions per charge?

How is the battery holding up I your current unit? 5-10 sessions per charge?

Why not sell your solo and just pay the additional cash for a brand new Solo OK?

Can you verify the serial number with Arizer before purchase?

My biggest concern would be around the warranty.

I think the Solo II has improvements over the OG but I'm not sure how much value I place on them -

I prefer using the Solo 2 dry as well. It gives great flavor without being attached to a cord. I do use the tiny water bubbler stem every so often. The Solo 2 isn't stealth but I have another vaporizer I use for that. It wouldn't fit in your jeans pocket but a nice big coat pocket would fit.

I like easy and this unit is easy and fun to use. A nice upgrade from the OG Solo.

This thread doesn't get much action, too bad.

@CarolKing yes such a great vape should get more attention.

I found for a sneaky hit I can put a loaded Solo II into my pocket and take a small walk and puff away decretly. Did after playing golf. Why my group was signing their score cards I walked around the corner and took a couple of huge rips @ 220c. It's definitely to big to stay in ya pocket but for a sneak a toke it was great.

Since getting my new Solo my CF and VB are gathering dust and stash is lasting longer.

Hi Carol,

What vape do you prefer for stealth? I have a grasshopper which is very pocket-friendly but it gets too hot without a water tool.
Solo II is a fool-proof gadget, built like a tank. Zero problems and not a whole lot to change besides experimenting with different stems.

I've been in parking lots using my Solo before going into Dr Appts and procedures. I've used my Solo before going into the dentist. I chew gum before going in. It makes me more relaxed. I recently used my Solo 2 before going in for an MRI. I sat out in the parking lot at the Drs office beforehand vaporizing. People don't even notice, that's been my experience. Not advocating using cannabis and driving. Usually I have some time afterwards before I drive, like a hour at least most of the time. Waiting 2 hours is probably best.

@Vapestein I use a Grasshopper for stealth but I need the silicone mouthpiece. I agree it gets hot.:cuss:

Great video comparison, thank you for taking the time to do that & posting it for our benefit! The deal of $204 with 6 mouthpieces & grinder is smokin (pun intended). I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on that pretty soon. I am curious to know what the 6 mouthpieces are, not a big deal but just wanted to know, couldn't find that info on the site...

I know I'm not CK, and you didn't ask me, but I'm gonna answer anyway.......

While Solo is fairly stealthy, and Air more so, it's still kind of big and 'showy' in use. When discretion is the call I still go back to the Summit. It's small enough to 'palm' if you're handy and buzzes (like a cell phone on 'vibrate' to inform you of status. You can keep it in your pocket and hold the big button down for a couple seconds and it starts up with a buzz. Then it flashes battery level before it starts the heating cycle (8 steps!). It's fast, maybe half a minute to full vapor, since it's a directly heated SS bowl which has a 'full length' (four inch plus) metal tube connecting it to the MP, it's cooler on the draw than most, certainly for it's size.

When it's ready, it again buzzes (3 times) to tell you so without alerting others near by. You then take it out when nobody's watching and grab a quick hit or two before it slips back into standby. Holding the button down turns it off again, two buzzes this time so you don't confuse it with the other two alerts (on/heating, ready to hit, and shutdown).

Brother Sinclue brought it to our attention when Randy himself (of Puff it Up!) recommended it to him for dog walks. I don't have a dog but I sure am glad I got a Summit. Should I get one, I've already got the right vape for the job......

sorry about that, the moderator removed the link that contained all of the info.

"Two black stems (one short, one long – AWESOME!), both 14 and 18 glass water pipe adapters, the bubbler and the high airflow stem. $80+ in value!!"

I'm enjoying my new II. What a beauty.

For a lark I thought I'd try the packet of lavender, do some aromatherapy between hits.
I set the temp low at 1st, didn't smell much, so stepped it up.

Still didn't detect much so I lifted the lil glass cup, burned my fingers, tossing lavender flowerets all over the couch & floor.

No video but it probably looked like some Stan Laurel skit.
Hey, it smells good in here now!

Well I dropped my order last night from Arizer. Sure wish I knew about that deal with extra stems.. oh well, just hope the two day shipping is on time. There were too many deals going on, I think anyone getting their solo 2 is a winner. I went with buying from manufacturer because my last portable was defected but third party wouldn't warranty. I also placed order before finding this forum funny enough.

I've read about the last 30-40 pages while at work last night, thanks for the hype! Even with the error codes I'm glad it's always sorted out. Was a bit more pricey than I set out for but I think it'll fit my exact needs. Glad to hear It can pack small bowls and help preserve so it'll pay off. Hey I work long shifts so the quick heat up time after a hard day was the best reason to pay up the extra $75 from the OG model.

I'll also add that Arizer's sales/shipping team is pretty darn cool. Under the order comment section I asked for a whip replacement for my extreme Q on a whim, low and behold it's on my shipping tracking :)

Happy vaping :peace:
