Best cartridges for distillate

I can get distillate in a jar for about $20, but the distillate carts are atleast $40/g around me, so I've been looking for some I can fill myself, I'd also be able to use a bigger tank for a mod if there's one that works well. I'd like to avoid layg, with distillate that gets messy. Reddit reccomeded the maxvapr v2, vape 710 v2.1, or ccell carts, thanks for any advice!

While I can't directly recommend a brand, I find that distillate itself is a little too thick for most carts for me. I prefer to use a PEG400 mix like EJmixx or Puffmajic to thin it out. Like half a gram per mL of juice, sometimes a quarter of a gram if I'm not using distillate and I'm using regular wax. I found the Yocan 510 cartridges had intake holes that were too small, it wouldn't wick fast enough, and most of the other 510 carts I've used haven't been great. I find that the evod tanks work very well, sometimes people call the clearomizers, some are real junky but the quality ones work well for this sort of juice. I've also used a Smok V8 baby beast too, but wasn't really impressed with the performance over the evod tank. Unless you're vaping nicotine juice I wouldn't really say you need to buy a tank like that.

For dissalate the best carts I've found so far are on eBay no need to cut the dissalate at all I have put it in pure but have since ventured into using terpenes to dilute it some and add flavor
For some reason when I tried ejmix/shatter batter my dissalate would never mix well and separate

It's a real treat in carts uncut it's like carrying my enail with me
I'm not sure how to link but they are the amigo liberty v9 even advertised as dissalate carts I've run 2.5 grams so far through current carts and still going good

If you do wanna do ejuice with thc I'd 100% recommend a baby beast but dissalate I wouldn't cut down more than a tad of terpenes it's wasted in ejuice when it does so good undiluted

I wasted 10+ grams of dissalate between trying to find carts to use it and making ejuice now I just mix some terpenes fill a amigo cart and have 1+ week of getting blitzed off my butt without anyone having a clue

The liberty v9 cartridges will do the trick but I think the Ccell cartridges are much better in taste and vapor production - and @SamuraiSam says the trinity tank is best! :)

I have some of the maxvapor tanks that Justpassedu mentioned and haven't tried them yet but I value his opinion so I am sure they're good! I have only used the dispensary tanks (eureka, evolab) other than the liberty v9 tank. The dispensary tanks have bottom air holes which LEAK. No bueno! The liberty V9 tanks do not have this problem. I've drove from my house at 8k ft down to Denver and back home, basically going up and down, up and down the whole way and 0 leaks. The trinity tanks need to come down in price before I even consider it, no matter how good they are. I've already invested too much in high dollar shit that didnt live up to the hype.

From the Persei thread:

These are different from the MaxVapor carts it seems. I just tore apart a vape710 v2.1 since you mentioned the other ones had some fiber in near the ceramic and what I found was that these do NOT have any fiber material/wick. The white you see through the 2 holes is just the ends of the ceramic rod. I took some pictures here of the coil, hope it helps. Interested to see inside a Trinity cart now.

Follow @r3dcell's link for excellent pics of the Vape710 heating element. Also just disassembled one. It's similar to the Trinity tank in using a ceramic wick with no obvious adhesives or fiber. The Trinity uses a hollow ceramic cylinder with a titanium wire coiled inside the space. The Vape710 uses a ceramic rod with a stainless steel wire coiled around it. The coil is partially embedded in the ceramic rod but not completely encapsulated. The ends of the rod fit loosely in the intake holes. A bit of thin silicone tubing is fitted above the intake holes, but surprised it doesn't leak.

Haven't tried the Vape710 yet. The porous ceramic wick is light and spongy - can be crushed with fingertips. Some concern has been raised elsewhere on this forum about respirable silicon particles being produced in this application. Wouldn't be surprised if this is the case with the Vape710. While the build quality seems solid for a 7 CD tank, the Trinity's more impressive and doesn't use silicone so close to the heating element. This might be acceptable for a disposable, but the Trinity can be reused at least several times and costs only twice as much.

I can confirm that I have has some leakage from the vape710 v2.1. Very minor, but it has leaked within the first 2 fills.

I'm really trying to avoid using any PG or VG, I don't like diluting extracts. Any particular brand or version of the ccell carts? I see a bunch with the word ccell.

Tried now 7 different carts, V9 2nd Place
cCell clear winner, dump straight CO2oil & any Distillate no cut needede
Ran through 6 grams in my original cart + 1 gram cart not 500mg like V9
Great on cheap pen, fantastic on Evic Two Mini
Anyone got it to fire in tc mode yet?
What type of coils/resistance?
If you really like the Amigo, I got 5 for $20 inc ship on ebay gold & silver

https://www.ebay.com/itm/5PCS-Adjus...var=531757106871&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

But they are really not at same level of intense hits the cCell does.
Never had one leak, but slight chimney creep, probably due to puff activation

So far I have tried the Gen 1+2 Vape710 carts, MaxVapor carts and the W9 Trinity.

Ignoring price the Trinity is the hands down winner for me. The reason is simply that it is the only distillate cart I've found that is actually sub-ohm and can TC properly.

They are more costly though, and I've only run 3 grams through the Trinity so far so I can't vouch personally for the ability to iso soak and reuse them yet. In this time though I haven't had any issues with leaking or with spitting. I run at 360 F with a max of 12.5w. I do recommend a cool down hit though as I'm paranoid about using any oil vape without pulling some cool air through it afterwards to help re-solidify the concentrate.

Vaping distillate in TC like this is a dream. Big clouds, great flavor and zero learning curve. When I go out now I rarely want to bother with anything other than the Trinity because it is so discrete and convenient. Just load it up and you can puff puff pass all night.

The MaxVapor and Vape710 carts were more hit and miss for me. Initial flavor was great but I've had issues with flooding, leaks and spitting with both. The Gen 2 Vape710 carts were a big improvement over the Gen 1 in this regard though. Gen 2 also got the resistance down to about ~1.5 ohms but I still couldn't ever get those carts to TC reliably.

Until other companies release distillate carts that can TC well I think W9 really has no competition here.

A warning though, the Trinity requires a vented 510 connector on your mod to deliver the bottom fed airflow. Many of my newer mods for whatever reason have dropped the vented 510 connector. If you have a newer mod like this you will need to buy a vented 510 extender. For example, the eVic VTC Mini will work fine. The eVic Primo Mini will NOT work out of the box!

So you still don't know about the vaporesso veco, smok x-TFV8 x-baby w/ RBA coil, and the cubis pro mini, and so many more tanks that can sub-ohm, TC, and also be fitted with ceramic coil heads of some sort? (and also not leak!)

Or are you just arbitrarily limiting your comments to cover smaller sized, small diameter, around ~1ml tanks specifically intended for cannabis concentrates and not talking about e-cig style RTAs that are around 2ml and larger without saying that? Because I'm nearly falling down, tripping, stumbling across all these new e-cig tanks that also work great for cannabis concentrates. 2-3 years ago, there were very few tanks that can TC, not leak, and could have ceramic heaters, now there are many. With co2 oil and distillate on the tanks I've mentioned, it's not even really necessary to dilute your concentrate with terpenes, PEG, etc because there's sufficient room and airflow and wicking holes for the oil to move.

You tend to use mods, not unregulated pens, right? So I figure this would be right up your alley?

Little 1ml sized tanks look quite odd and conspicuous :uhh: with a mod, even on tiny mods like an evic basic. Almost nobody uses that type of gear to vape nic juice these days, it's all RTA/RDA.

For me, the bottom airflow and leak-prone design disqualify the vape710 & trinity tanks, although the flavor & vapor from the sub-ohm ceramic wick is probably nice. I'm pretty sure the extra airflow and wicking potential of some of the RTAs I mentioned easily put the trinity to shame in the field of TC cloud production with similar vapor quality, with the potential trade-off of spitting possibility in some cases.

I think more mods made in 2016/2017 stopped including the vented 510 connector because the kind of tanks and RDAs that people actually use with mods today have pretty much stopped using bottom airflow through the 510 connector because it is so inherently leak prone and a poor design feature. Leaking juice through the 510 pin can foul mods to the point of destroying them with prolonged use/leaking.

Only leaky little tanks that are intended for cannabis oils use bottom-510 threaded air flow these days, and although most RTAs still use bottom-airflow, it is now separated from the 510 connector through a separate bottom air throttle / coil assembly, so your oil or e-juice eventually floods / leaks internally into a metal coil/air assembly, not into the mod itself.

The whole market for e-cig RTAs, and even the far-inferior-quality type of tanks for concentrates that the industry has forced upon us for so long is slowly transitioning to top-airflow because it is so much less prone to leaking, and that's long overdue and welcome, IMO. :2c: Leaking e-juice is an annoyance, pennies at a time, leaking cannabis concentrate from a tank is a small tragedy, shedding dollars at a time.

Unacceptable. You'd don't have to accept leakage, people. Use top-air.

So the veto and cubits pro mini can be used with uncut dissalate out the box or you're using a different coil? How do you set up the baby beast rba for dissalate? I currently use the tfv8 baby beast m2 coils for my ejuice mixes but a big tank for dissalate instead of the little fairly obvious tanks would be nice

With decarbed oil and 5% terps, the Vape710 delivered bigger hits than the Trinity. In each case, vaped ~0.3 mls oil in one session, desperately hoping for effects that never happened.

Don't understand it. Try one of the ccell tanks or just give up on these little concentrate tanks?

Yes, because concentrate is more fluid when it's decarbed. Distillate and CO2 oil are decarbed as part of the extraction process. Actually, first try with the Trinity tank was not decarbed. Same lack of effects, but at the time, chalked it up to the mix being too thick. Don't know what's going on now.

Very aware that distillation process inherently decarbs....just making sure you weren't using anything short of distillate as your starting material. What distillate are you using? strain? Thc%?

Not using distillate - should have been clear. This is QWET from homegrown Cream Caramel, no lab analysis. Still, 0.025g of this material is a typical dab dose. Ten times that in either of these cartridges produced negligible effects on three tries total. Doesn't seem to make sense.

Would LOVE to try distilling, BTW, but it requires an enormous volume of starting material.

Why did you decarb your qwet? Did you run it thru a winterization step?

Decarbed specifically to test these tanks out of curiosity. Used second-run QWET after using first-run for shatter. Purged and decarbed at the same time in an oil bath. Could be a good use for second-run QWET if it works.
