Discontinued VRIPtech Heating Wand

lazylathe

Almost there...
This or the FP? :)

Totally different animals!
The Vrip is a flavor monster that pretty much beats out all my other vapes, if used correctly.
The FP makes denser clouds and is easier to use as the VRIP has a slight learning curve.

I am, once again on a mission to go through all my old vapes and test them all out again!
My vaping routine has changed for some reason... Massive, lung busting hits make me cough a lot these days all of a sudden...
So i am after a slower session vape that heats up quickly.
off to try and find Nirvana for that fleeting moment...

So Ive been searching for a vape that can fit my vaping criteria for a purest like myself, and after weeks of vape research I landed on this one, and Im glad to know theres other manufacturers out there who care so much in the materials they put in their vape and working towards that 100% pure air path. Ive been reading this thread and it seems like some new parts might be in the works, but its been a while since we've had any updates. Would love to hear from ShadowVape about the possible new cover for the Heat Wand or any new items/projects coming about!

Also does anyone know if this vape is better compatible with a bubbler thats at an angle instead of verticle because of how heat rises? And does this vape come with anywhere to set the vape down? I see the glass cup accessory on the site but I'd prefer to keep the Heat Wand on its side as its suggested.

As the vape stands today, it is an amazing device!
The updated bowls etc have been talked about for a very long time with almost no updates.

@ShadowVape was last active here in April 2017, so a while ago...

As for what it pairs best with, that is personal preference!
I have bubblers that are straight and angled, they both work very well! I do seem to prefer the straight up ones for some reason though...
I always used the glass cup from VRIP as a stand, then i sold my first wand...
With my 2nd wand i use a glass cup so when the vape is in the cup it is at about a 60 degree angle so the heat does not travel into the electrics, works really well.
A glass plate or dish would also work to have it lying flat.

I would recommend buying it in this iteration as the next version could still be years away...

Tweet responded to! Either Shadow or Mark WILL BE BACK!!!
Good on you bro fair play! Do we see the Vrip making a comeback and grabbing some headlines even amidst the rapid development of advanced modern powerhouse vaporizers?

If it is getting Lazy's approval then that says a lot in the current times. Space to watch?

And welcome back Mark @ShadowVape in advance. Hoping life is going good for you in CA and that your normally bountiful (and I'm sure AMAZING) harvest is going to plan. Hopefully you will be VERY busy soon with all that! We did ours a while ago now- one of the beauties of autoflowers- all properly cured now actually, just got the final 2 jars down to 62% two days ago. No more checking, burping etc.
It is a lot of work, all in all but so worth it when it goes right.

The Vrip is the bomb, and a connoisseur level flavour country flagship IMO. I took a break from it (actually sported a dual wand setup), for a few reasons.... it seemed to really make me sneeze (terpenes!) due to the lower temps I needed to avoid uneven roasting/hot spotting. This lighter full on convection vapour really tickles me until absurd sneezing frenzies, which I rarely experience with other vapes, including convection.

I would get uneven abv unless my temp and technique were dialed right in, and even with lower temps, I could quickly notice that the abv wouldn't brown like I wish it would, probably the result of a not perfectly straight ceramic stick heater.

The fragility and expense of the glass heater cover at this point makes this vape a tough choice for stoners that let their guard down from time to time.

I think I may need to invest in one again and giv'er another whirl!

@lazylathe has been on a Vape Signature bender lately!

@lazylathe has been on a Vape Signature bender lately!

That i have and i have discovered some of my older issues and found that i have learned quite a lot since last using some of these vapes!
Some have been packed away again but the Vrip stays out.
Flavor on my OG strains is intense!! It really brings out that Kush experience!

Chewing on some deliciously potent Bubba RockStar Kush!
A mix of 2 of my favorite strains!!

@ShadowVape Can you tell us more about concentrate use?
I notice in your pictures and videos, the wand is really glowing so a much higher temp is required.
I guess i could try on some organic cotton or hemp as well!

EDIT:
Just threw a dab of some great White Shark rosin onto a bed of Bubba RockStar....
The flavor of the dab annihilated the flavor of the kush and produced huge clouds!!
First hit was epic to say the least... Decided to stir to see what the rosin had done and it was gone! When i stirred the herb it was dry and the screen was clean! WOW!!
Way more hits off the load than normal but the herbs flavor was definitely affected.
Very nice though!!

It should be soon for me .. Just waiting for the shipping reply :D Slowly but surely ...

Or shoult I better say : FINALLY :D because upgrading is much needed for me, I consume way to low herbs now and have access to much better option than before ...even if xtracts are taking the win a little at the moment, my log and my portables just annoy me a little (little load) so I need something more powerful, bigger bowl and on battery for on the go and something massive and flavorful for at home : VRIP COME HERE !!! Alan takes care of me for on the go !

Funny that at the same time I was in contact for my order I was seeing new messages here after a long time not coming .. i'll try give a shout out to ShadowVape so he come say hello here.
VRIP STILL ALIVE
Can't wait to try it ...

You are in for a treat!!
@ShadowVape does not lie when he says he lives in Flavor Country!!
And we reside right next to him!!

I also need to upgrade to the newer Vrip bowls! I have a very old model wand and bowl design but it works great, so i am reluctant to buy more stuff for it.

Once you get it set up right, you can do whole bowls and have nice light tan ABV!
See below for a brief description! Baked and doing some odd editing...LOL!

@WAM90
I have been doing some side by side testing of my OGFP 16mm and the VRIP!
Tough testing to do...LMAO!
Anyway these are a few of my findings:
Flavor from both are amazing! The Vrip tends to hold the flavor for longer but not by much.
I can do whole micro loads in the FP in one hit, the Vrip i need to stir and take another hit.
Vapor density on micro hits is excellent in the FP while i find it much lighter in the Vrip.
ABV from the FP is darker and more even, the Vrip is lighter tan with a few green specks.
Both are dead simple to use. I have never broken any of the glass components yet...
FP heats up way faster, Vrip needs a good 10+ minutes to really heat soak.
Vrip is harder to dial in the perfect temp for an evenly vaped darker bowl in one hit without getting a hot spot and that nasty taste. Once you find that spot, dial it back 1 to 2mm and it should be set for good.

Nothing bad to say about either of these vapes! Love them both!

I think i will be using them both as my daily drivers for quite some time!!
What a duo!

Hey there, My name is Lois, I'm from Spain, so my english isn't very good, I'd like to apologize in advance for any misspeled word, also, I'm not sure if I should be posting what I'm about to post here, or if I should create a new thread elsewere, if thats the case please tell me :).

I have been reading the forum for a couple weeks, wich is the time my current Vrip broke, it broke in a wierd way, I hit(not to hard, but it sounded awful) my bong with the tip of the wand and the inner coil broke, it is still useable but I don't do it beacause it has a lot more of airflow now and can't get that dense vapor that I loved.

The thing is that I'm in the looking for a new vaporizer or a new Vrip. As I said, I live in Spain, and when I first broke the magic wand the first thing I did was looking for a spare chamber, I found a place where they sell it for around 130€, also found another shop to buy a new Vrip for 199€. After checking those prices I also thought about checking out new vaporizers, and thats how I found this place, wich is wonderful btw.

I'll start saying that I loved, I mean really loved my Vrip, I find it easy to use, and it suits my needs, I use a chinesse small bowl with a simple EHLE bong, and I never weight my herb but I'd say it works with small ammounts, get diferent results with diferent strains, and I adjust the temp depending of what I'm vaping, I think my unit had the heater a little bit stronger than the one I saw in the picks of this thread, as I usually run herbs at maybe 50% as much, and can run extractions at 70% or so. The first hit is just beautiful, then stir, a second hit also wonderful, stir, and a third not that good but still I like it. When doing extractions I just can't believe it, sometimes I lost count of the number of tasty mouthwatering hits that I can get with a small amount of isolator.

That being said I'm guessing that anyone that reads this would be thinking "dude just repair your Vrip or get a new one beacause that magical wand is for you and you know it" and thats what I think, but during this weeks research i saw a lot of good reviews of vapes, and I have considered other vaporizers, to be specific the ones that I considered are the E-nano and the Vapexhale Evo. I even saw that Shadowvape(I understand is the CEO of Vrip) said that the vapexhale is a very good vaporizer and he can recomend it to someone that looks for a good taste all cristal path with a little bit more durability, and as for the e-nano I readed that it works with small amounts, is small, its beautiful(IMO) and I read it can get tasty clouds(comparable to the vrip).

In my home I'm the only one that vapes, and I do it only at night, not even everyday, with the Vrip, I usually get extremely medicated with 1 charge of the bowl(As i said is a small bowl, I can post a picture if you want) sometimes 2 charges, depending on the strain, that is good and bad, its good beacause I use less to get there(wich I really don't care as I grow my own stuff and have more than enough), its bad beacause I really like tasting the vapor and I get so stoned that doesn't even cross my mind to refill the bowl. So, considering that, I thought that the E-nano could be as good as the Vrip in terms of taste, and yet be a little bit more robust and beautiful sitting in the living room table, wich is the only thing I don't like about the vrip(wich in my case rest on a silicone cake mold) I'm no so sure about the vapexhale as I think that the chamber where the herb goes seems a little to big, and I woudn't like to waste more than I need neither I'd like to vape more than I need.

The money factor is important but not a dealbreaker, I like that I can buy the vrip here in Spain, and the same goes for the EVO, thats a drawback with the enano, but I think I read that they ship globally so I guess thats not that important either.

So thank you for reading, and if someone can give me some advice that can push me in the right direction I'd be very grateful.

@Elflois

Welcome to FC and great first post!!
Reading through it, i would recommend a replacement heater cover.
I am also in the same predicament as you! I noticed a small crack in my heater cover as well...
Time to upgrade my heater cover and order some new parts for me

I guess you could say i really like vaporizers but only a few actually make it to regular use.
As you can see from my signature i have owned the EVO and the E-Nano and prefer my VRIP to both of them. It has a purer taste and the vapor is nice and dense and perfect for me.

The E-Nano is a great vaporizer and very robust as you say! Works with tiny loads and can be used dry or through a WT. I gave up because i could not get the vapor i wanted without a popcorn taste towards the end. A few people have mentioned this but a lot do not notice or experience it.

The EVO is designed to run on 110V ONLY!! Check the website! No converters or adapters are to be used or used at your own risk and expense...
I think Spain runs on 220V, so you would be without warranty or anything.
This is only what i have read on the website so it may be different...

I would also recommend that you look into the @NewVape420 @NewVape710 NewVape Flower pot vaporizer.
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/newvape-flowerpot-twax-vaporizer.23162/

I run my Vrip and Flower Pot as my daily drivers!
Best in flavor, best in clouds and best effects for me!

@Elflois ... there was a 220v version of the EVO I'm pretty sure ... just inquired with the beta group to see if anyone knows ... otherwise I'll reach out to Seibo to get an answer.

I do think @lazylathe is right though and you should get your VHW fixed ... probably quite a bit cheaper no?

The enano might be a good option though as it is a much smaller hitter so you could more easily have smaller bowls ... maybe both fix the VRIP and get an eNano? What the heck ... might as well get an EVO too! (Just kidding ... sort of ;))

Why do you prefer the VRIP over the EVO? Doesnt it have an all glass path too?

On another note, why is the all-glass-airpath style vape so limited after all these years? Do people just not care about the benefits, or maybe its too fragile? There's really just this and the EVO on the entire vape market it seems.

The EVO was good at a certain temperature and anything above would be too dark and slightly below the performance was not good. If they widened the usable range it would be so much better or even added a digital display to it for repeatable sessions. This was my experience.
I did love using it but the new smell faded pretty quickly.
I was also pretty scared of that GonG joint sticking out...
The Vrip also has better flavor for longer i find. After the first hit in the EVO the flavor was pretty much gone.
And an important one for me is that i can leave my VRIP on all day and still pick it up and the handle is nice and cool, the EVO is a different story...

I think these two are it for all glass... But wait there is also the Glass Symphony!

Thank you very much for your answer Lazylathe, as I thought the Vrip is hard to beat, specially for what I want it. Did some more research and found the heat cover for 114€ so I'm buying it late this afternoon.

PD: that glass symphony looks nice :)

Thanks Lazylathe, definitely solidified my decision to make this my next vape.

Now Im just wondering about the 4.2 bowls and if they would fit my needs. Can anyone tell me how well this bowl works with ss/ti mesh screens? Can I microdose on them well (~.1 or .5)? And would the Evo's EZ load bowls fit and work well with this? (Also I dont plan on using the silicone seal, if that matters)

The new bowls use a glass screen, there is ZERO metal in the air path!
Only vape out there with a 100% all glass air path and you don't want any other material except herb in the bowl. Since these bowls are custom made i do not think an EVO basket or top cap would fit.
I have to admit that i did used to use a small disc of very fine SS mesh when vaping fine ground micro loads. To me it did not affect the experience at all.
I use a stainless steel screen now and still love this vape!
I never do 0,1g loads always 0,05g to 0,08g or less, depending on the vape.
Multiple small hits per session that i find works very well!
Take a hit, surf the net and get lost for a bit and you really get a chance to feel the effects come on!
Take another hit when you feel like it! This way it is always a FRESH load for taste!!

You have to be very precise without the seal. We have been requesting a version with a GonG attachment to make it easier to mate with a WT but that might be something that never materializes.
I find the seal very easy to use and i replace it with some medical grade silicone tube when needed.

It is usually on for around 12 hours a day, same as my Flower Pot.
My two favorite daily drivers!

Oh so it is a custom sized bowl, thought it was just an 18.8mm male joint. So you are able to take out the glass screens and put your own metal screen in the bowl, or did you put the ss mesh over the glass screen? I like the idea of an all glass screen but I like to fine grind my herb for a more even roast, and the herb will fall through the holes. Ideally id wanna use a double weave TI screen for more filtration.

If i remember correctly the glass screens are pretty small, around 8mm in diameter.
Never seen such small double weave Ti screens but they may be available.

I just placed the mesh over the glass screen.
