Discontinued Ghost MV1

They shouldve beta tested more before releasing it, thats their mistake
I would not disagree with you on that.

GV's blunder was, foremost, changing the software in their already finished, beta-tested prototype by unlocking the heating temps during mfg &, then, releasing it without beta-testing.

I'm sorry, but I cannot agree with this. They definitely have issues well beyond the unlock and in particular the need for internal calibration loop to compensate for variance in manufactured heater performance that falls well outside their expected tolerances called for by their systems engineering.

Also, I personally do not believe that the significant non-linearity of performance with even minor battery depletion was caused by the 'unlock'.

Sorry, I like those guys a lot, have a bit of a personal relationship with Patrick, but I need to call a spade a spade and say that given the level and type of issues they are having to solve, if they ran a beta test it was very poorly designed and the real issues were only flushed out once the current beta began.....which was after it was open for sale.

There is not a snowball's chance in hell that all of this came from unlocking two of the six temp settings, IMO.

Anyone here have a Cloud EVO and an MV1 (that has performed well for them at some point)?
My MV1 was amazing for a little while there, great flavor, smooth big rips, many rips with hardly any material and AVB that was light in the end; this was brief though.
I'll miss it, but can't afford such a loss, having had some issues with my MV1 unit, I'm trying to get something that could deliver the same or better, home desktop experience.

The Cloud EVO with a precision turbine seems to be amazing for concentrate, I'd imagine it's pretty great for dry herb too? (I prefer sticking to dry herb).
Have a WoodScent log which is great, yet it is warm and that can be irritating to my throat.
When I use the caps and a single torch, I tend to not have the throat irritation, unless I error and combust.
I do love my XL Omni and may be satisfied with just a nice desktop and portable, induction heater.?

I have never used the MV1, but have tried pretty much every plug-in and portable released in the last 10 years (have a friend who runs a vape business, so get to test everything).

The EVO is the best vape I have ever used and has been my daily driver for the last 2 years or so.

I have both. MV1 is impressive. Waiting for new firmware for final evaluation. The evo is for me the ultimate in vapes but the mv1 might be a worthy challenger (flavor plus cool vapor plus pretty portable).

I have not used a EVO....but have a MV1 and it is the best vape I have ever used. :sherlock:

There...we are even now. ;)

The Evo is one of the five best vapes I’ve ever used. It has unlimited power and can hold more herb...nearly three times the amount of herb the Ghost can but doesn’t require it. That alone means it will perform differently.

I think the MV-1 will end up being an excellent vape, but we really need to get our expectations in check here or it will surely disappoint.

Ghost does go above and beyond with the customer service, I've been more than impressed.

Agree in full that once things are tuned, it is going to be up there in the top spots of most efficient, smooth and variable vapes available. But, as LabPong says above, 'it all depends on a persons...'.
I'm confident they'll resolve the matters, and hopefully sooner than later.
They've got a lot to live up to, but I've had some amazing experiences with both flower and concentrates (rosin, natural resin, kief, cbd isolate and others). Experiences that aren't exactly comparable to other vapes I've used, I've said before it's somewhere between, through water, the Mighty and an XL Omni, and more efficient too. Even the high is a bit different, more heady like.
I've also so far had frustrating experiences, relating to the matters that are very variable still.

Time will tell.

I am not sure why but the extraction of the mv1, the flavor I get, and the coolness seem to rank it as #1 in my collection. The extraction is the most surprising. It seems to get more than any other vape.

I totally agree Monster......

stickstones.......keep in mind unless someone is apart of the beta testing for the app....most of us all have units that are gimped and some have normal running units. Many units are not heating correctly and you will hear about uneven and almost burnt ABV still.

But I found a way to use mine that the over heating issue is lessened and I can get fairly even or more than well done ABV if needed. This thing can extract super quick if you want. I just draw much shorter than a normal draw length and get huge results still. I get totally blasted from one load fill...which is about 0.1gr.

So I have a minor fast charger issue.
1. Shows charging
2. Eventually I squeeze it and it goes charged.

? Define squeeze?
I've noticed that it may give a false read. Charge a battery fully, let it go green, take battery out, reinsert into fast charger.. see red for at least a half hour. Short of that.. whaaaadaya mean?

If you let the battery charge fully, you know it's good when it goes green. Your good beyond that for sure regardless of if you reinsert it or not. Or should be...

I keep coming back to check on this thread to see if the app is released. It's been well over a month since Ghost stated the app will be released over the weekend. This is why you should never give a definitive date especially when it comes to software as so many things can go wrong in the beta phase.

I really want to see how this vape performs after users update their device. If it performs like it should, this is definitely next on my list, however a little update from Ghost would be nice. Any guarantees of dates should be taken with a grain of salt, however at least provide updates on what the main issues they're dealing with so it can instill confidence in users that things are being done on the back end.

For what it's worth, they sent me a device with the latest firmware sideloaded.
The EEEEEEEEEE is less noticable and it tends to heat more evenly.
The heatup time seems slightly slower, but only by a second or two.
The fit and tolerances of the heatsink/silicone/mouthpiece areas also appear to be improved.

I haven't thoroughly tested battery performance since the update, but I will before making an update video.

Should be another week if that. Vape critic guy confirmed that the app went into IOS review the monday that just passed. We should see it very soon. Yo, level 5 is sick man.. I never did a straight level 5 session before.. yooo!! >.< it's a firefly 1 flavor curve without the work all over again. I was on one blinky led and it still was like BOOOOMM!! I love this thing :D

I wanted to redact the less noticeable EEEEE. This was apparently a poorly judged observation.

Everything else is true still. the device functions better than the first one I

It’s close. I said recently that the beta testers advised it wasn’t quite ready yet. Not sure what else everyone is looking for at this point? Would you rather it come out now and have flaws or wait till it’s ready? Kinda seems like people here just want it to come out and be wrong so they can complain about it...

ios review by the ghost programmers or by Apple? If Apple, Patrick said they are backlogged so the review will take 5 days before it's available in the store.
