does the turbulator make a huge difference? does it prevent charred spots? really annoyed as heat isnt evenly distributed with my unit.

I've held off on getting the Milaana since I've been busy with school, but if Mi 2 comes out I may finally have to pull the trigger.

It helps, but there are other tuning individualities depending when you bought your unit. A large part of preventing hot spots is draw and pack based, but the turbulator certainly makes it easier, more of a failsafe I suppose.

Also I'd expect the 2 to be more incremental as the 1 had like 4 versions itself... But we'll just have to wait and see, probably still aways away

Im not sure if Dave is offering the Milaana parts anymore. I don't see them listed anymore. Im wondering if its, just, temporary or because of some fit issues. I bought one of his V3 cooling units and had to make a shim out of a alu can. It works great! I use it all the time. He said when I ordered it that it was interchangeable with the Tubo Evic and it fits the Tubo great. The Milaana, without the shim is a bit wobbly. Not an issue, for me, with the simple shim mod. Maybe he's making a new one that fits a little better???

Not a great situation and it is something I have heard from someone who bought a Vapefiend unit :( I will say the female glass in my Zion is the same, doesn't seem to be a standard size and causes the stem to wobble. Not sure how this has managed to slip through.

I was made aware of this going on for a few months now. I spent months working with RBTs glass in both female joints and male stems. The specification is for US joints in the Milaana, not ISO 26mm joints. Not sure how someone can call a manufacturer's quality control into question on a device to have issues because their glass won't fit something out of specification or they've decided to slap Milaana compatible on glass out of the manufacturers specification. A US joint is a US joint, it is shorter than the ISO joint, so yeah, when you put the ISO joint in there, things wobble and don't sit properly. I've witnessed it first hand, tried to address it with the individual I bought the glass through and never received a reply. So I'm just stuck with a wobbly 26mm joint that is out of specification for the Milaana whereas I thought I was buying a US jointed Milaana compatible piece of glass.

In my experience, the build quality and finish on the Milaana has improved month over month. Could there be an issue with some wobbly US joints? I would guess because the source of the glass currently used is not set to a specification other than outer dimensions (inner diameters have and continue to be an issue for some screens with certain batches of glass).

I'm glad that glass is something that is going to improve as RBT products evolve.

I'll leave my thoughts on the Tubo comparison out of this.

Can I use a little bit of water (just a little moist cloth) to clean the wood of my walnut Milaana?

Not sure if water would be your best choice. What did you get on the Milaana?

Actually, it’s just that I think I’ve done this once (not sure If I did), because I’m trying to figure out if this darkest spot is from the wood itself or it’s a water spot (I don’t think so):

My guess is that area that is darker was hit with some tongue oil/beeswax and maybe was hit with the sander but the rest of the unit looks dry like it wasn't hit as much when looking at the wood. My guess is that some wood oil or conditioner might even it out but I can't be 100% certain. Hitting that area with some sand paper 400 grit, at most 600 grit may also even it out to the duller walnut below.

I think water would be bad for the wood in general.

Thank you. You mean hitted while it was in production or by me? Because I’ve never used any oil or anything at all.

I don’t care for it, I think it looks great, but I’m just curious. :D

Sorry, I mean hit during finishing process by RBT, not by you.

Broke down and bought a cherry mi last night. Shouldn't have done it. But I did haha. I guess I can make it an early Xmas present haha. Time to throw some old vapes up for sale hah to make up the difference. Pretty sure I'm going to Alan's today to check out a couple things :).

I have a walnut unit that has the same visual uneven coloring. Depending on the angle it radiates a deeper hue than the surrounding areas. I applied wood butter on it for months and sanded it just a little bit but it hasn't made much of a difference. It hasn't bothered me enough to go further but at some point I'll try some conditioner to see if I can darker it overall.

You gonna love it dude! Take your time to learn the proper drawing technique but after that, it's pure love!

I know I'm being redundant and I know its not what you want but I just made a small, penny size, shim out of an alu can and it works great. I just use it for the Milaana and not for the Tubo.Im sure it would work on your stuff. Its not a problem at all really. When its in there its nice and solid and works as advertised. Cosemetically you can't even see it. It stays put in the female end when you pull off the stem too so no fuss! This IS with the "DDave "glass not RBT. Im very happy with the DDave V3 it cools great! I got my Milaana direct from Ryan. It was, in fact, the last one he sold on his site. I ordered it right on the weekend that everything was changing over to your site and somehow my order slipped through the cyber cracks. My RBT glass fits perfect!

I've had a mi and Zion. I'm already aware of the technique :) my mi was a lifetime warranty though so no turbulator in that one

Mine is a lifetime warranty aswell, been thinking about buying one with a turbulator but I'm gonna wait to see what happens with this Mi2 rumors...

I didn't really char mine when I had it. Used to get some of the tastiest vapor that I miss. I just love that burst of flavor. With all the other things rbt has going on I'm sure it'd be a while for mi2.

Poor manufacturing quality @DDave ?

Or maybe you just ordered the 26mm joint you thought could be used with any 18mm fitting when RBT has said all along his vapes use a 22mm US joint. Whether you intended this to go public or not, calling out the manufacturer on quality control because your stuff won't fit (and you mistakenly advertising it as if it would) is just wrong.
