almost there

Hi everyone, I have a question for you battery experts. My pair of 30Q's arrived last week and the Dually isn't due for another 3-4 weeks I'm guessing. Should I charged them up now or wait? Not too sure about the policy with batteries that are new and aren't gonna be used, thanks :D

I have an odd problem. It's always been difficult to remove the battery from the tubo. It seems to fit more snugly than my other battery operated vapes and some of my batteries have developed nicks at the top from removing. My current battery is stuck and I can't figure out how to remove it. If it were a regular battery I would dig it out with something. But I don't think that would be safe with a li-ion battery. Any suggestions so I can return to using the tubo?

Whack it against your hand, so the battery loosens into your palm.

There is a black ribbon that lies underneath the battery. It's annoying to position correctly when closing the door but it really aids in getting the battery out smoothly.

I should have asked months ago before I got these nicks. That took about 2 seconds and the battery just popped out.

Oh I always place the black ribbon carefully when inserting batts so I can remove easily later. Forgot to mention my other magnet came out from the door though, thankfully the laser etched puzzle pieces still fit together tightly without em

Black ribbon from now on. At least I'm prepared for the 2 battery tubo when it's ready. My tubo has no etching but the new one will. I love the color and design options of the tubo.

Ah I used etch wrong, I meant laser cut, mine does not have a laser etched design. I think it is from same early batch as yours Mags, batch #2?

Yeah magnet coming lose is common on the evic VTC mini. I had to re-glue mine three times already. The second time, I even goofed up and put one backwards.... it was annoying for some time until the one on the matching side I didn't re-glue came off too and I was finally able to correct the polarity :p

I did that too,and later remove all the magnets,IMO in the TUBO concept it works better off without them, door is easier to remove ,so there is less stress on the wood when it is done :).

eta on store? what's the current going for a tubo evic?

Was an active follower at the beginning of this thread but have fallen off. Have there been any substantial changes to the heater itself?

hi. finally got the Tubo today.
fiddling with the device and menu,
while reading the manual etc.
i'm now TOTALLY lost.
cannot tell what's going on.
whether it's on or off, one click gets the screen on,
then 1 click it's off...
5 clicks off? 5 clicks on?
i'm too confused.
also trying to flip the display with no result.
and the heater gets warm so i just don't know what to do.
took the battery out and looking at it :hmm:

never wanted to beat that one ;)
First put battery in again ;)
When the screen is activating on one click, that means the tubo is in "standby".
To shut off standby, click 5 times.
It then should not activate the screen on 1 click.
In this state you can switch the display by holding both of the small buttons.

Rewake from deep sleep with 5 clicks and your in standby again.

Hold the big Button to heat the tubo up to the set temperature.

If you don't want to hold it all the time, click twice and a progress bar should tell you the time until the tubo stops holding the temperature.
Now just enjoy ;)

ok i will try this later.
so - just to be clear:
the Tubo SHOULDN'T warm up when i put the battery back right?
so then the screen turns on with a temperature etc. if i do nothing, no warming up right?

now my next step is to flip the display. so i suppose to click 5 times to turn off,
and do the -/+ thing.
then i suppose to click 5 times again? and it should be flipped?

that's what i tried and then noticed the heater was warm so got confused.

Dude,if you wanna flip the screen
Enter Menu by pressing fire and + then go to screen select Invert -off/on
I think that what youare trying to do switches off the screen ,smth like Stealth mode.it does not invert it,but i might be wrong :)

That sounds about right.
Notice that the first click is sometimes counted as display reactivation so if no cruise starts after 2 clicks, just click 2 times again.

thanks guys for helping. i'm sorry if this will be annoying.

so yea i flipped the display.
now i'm in standby mode. right?
that could be used from now on all the time with no battery loss?

next step: when i click once, i only wake the screen right?
so then i can set the temp.
but now after i set the temp, what do i do for a quick hit?
hold the big button? i think when i tried that it turned the screen off for some reason
and the heater started heating. it does this again. this is where i lose the plot.

Well i think you turned on the Stealth mode.
Stealth mode - hold the fire and - button to activate stealth mode which just turns the screen off while leaving the device on.

Adjustment lock - Hold the + and - button to lock these two buttons and avoid accidentally adjusting your settings.

Screen flip - Use the 5 click on off to turn the device off. Then hold the + and - button to flip the screen upside down.

You need to play a bit with clicks settings to find what is best for you. I have set all my clicks to cruise.. When you enter cruise mod you will see a time bar ,you can adjust that amount too ,but stock setting is long enough. In cruise mod you can change temps while heating .If you want a quick heat up just dial it to 245-250C and wait 10-15 seconds, after that dial back to your desired temp( i like 200) and start hitting ;).
If you want to use in on demand just hold the BIG button. If you like warm up mode just set one of the clicks sequences to warm up. do it and then just push button,.

---------------------
You can find answers by googling EVIC VTC MINI manual/User guide,or i think those are mentioned in the offficial tubo site too .
I am feeling a bit off lately ,but maybe i would contribute with a video manual at some point if noone beats me to it. :)
BTW There even is a game in the menu, called floppy bird... Maybe FJ can run a HIGH score contest to celebrate once the shop is launched :p .

ok. yes it was stealth.
now i did my first on demand few hits at 350F.
seems i'm getting the hang.
if my "goal" is having 4-5 easy hits in around 3-4 minutes,
what would be the best setup regarding saving battery?
on demand or session/cruise? also considering Eco?
i think the on demand is better cause i don't use the battery as much it seems.
but not sure.
tnx for all your help.
btw this is a great device. finally i feel in the big league :D
never felt such an airflow before.
