So, it looks like the majority are in favor of capsules, and well, those that aren't don't have to use them. I've already been talking to the team about it. Quick question for you guys, does the capsule material matter to you? How would you feel about organic, biodegradable capsules?

Never say never!

As usual the DaVinci team is listening and improving. Organic biodegradable sounds interesting! Whatever you come up with, I'd be happy to beta test for you :brow:

I'm worried about this vape: the rubber gasket is permanently mishappen after 2 days of use (i'm thinking of taking some scissors to it, it simply won't fit) and it doesn't seem to do the job as well as the arizer air it's meant to replace. The flavor chamber is a revolutionary feature, though, I can use the iq absolutely anywhere.

I would prefer glass or silicone but am open to a biodegradable solution.
Would it be a use once and toss? Or multiple uses?
At the end of the day, if you can come up a solution that doesn't scratch the oven and allows us to easily bring/pack several bowls for a night out on the town the material is irrelevant.
Kudos to davinci for listening!

Silicone would absolutely not be my material of choice. I wouldn’t want that in the heat and vapor path

How does your Ghost MV-1 compare to the IQ as far as flavor is concerned? Do you have a preference of one over the other?

I was thinking about this and I feel the MV1 and IQ are very similar in terms of flavor. I think the ceramic ovens used by both make them have a similar signature.

I just pulled out my IQ after a long break and I've been deep cleaning it, I think that it's impossible for me to eliminate empty oven vapor but I'm not sure how much I should care really..

can anyone who has used an arizer air 1 and davinci iq tell me how they compare? the iq is in a league of its own for stealth vaping, but it's effects are about half as much as the original arizer air by my estimation. could i be using the iq wrong? it'd be a bummer seeing that it was such a pricey purchase.

Rubber gasket like what houses the mouthpiece? If so then I can tell u between the 4 iq's I've experienced two of them came with looser silicone Covers and 2 came nice and tight.

There's no comparison, the Arizer Air 1&2 provide a cleaner more flavorful tasty vapor.

I really don't agree. IMO the Air (no experience with the 2) has less draw resistance but also a lot less flavor. I use the 10mm mouthpiece most of the time, and the flat piece for maximum flavor. I fill the IQ with a medium coarse grind and the small spacer. The flat piece is more for smaller mouth-to-lung hits and the 10mm for direct-to-lung. Remember to keep the flavor chamber in, even when it's empty.

Edit: Try to always use a glass spacer. They get very hot when the device is in use, way hotter than the pearl. And because of that it provides a more even extraction

Noted! I was reading your posts and pondering whether it was the magnet placement that was causing issues or the natural tolerance in the ceramic mouthpiece and silicone that sometimes causes this. Are you ok with your self fix?

@MAbud, the smart paths, particularly 2, should function just like precision temp control...except well it climbs over a 5 minute time period. Level 2, or any level for that matter, shouldn't cause any charring. If you're still having problems let me know. Happy to help where I can.

@Vaporcussion, thank you for the compliment! I'm a vape nerd myself and feel honored to be back on the boards with you guys.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!
Everything is better when it's organic!

Personally I find at low temps ~370-380F the IQ has great flavor. The flavor does fade as the session goes on or if you increase the temp, but at low temps it's pretty tasty.

When I use the IQ I usually pack it full which helps with the flavor as well.

Will the bud from the flavour chamber with reclaim on it mess up the oven?
I make little torpedoes and dropped in the chamber a week ago.
Should I just drop the torps in the oven?
Grind em first?
And also is the weed in rhe flavour chamber
Decarboxylated?

I think is something about tolerance. I don't think the unit is defective... maybe is just me opening my IQ too much that the magnet lost its strength (I use it several times per day).
I'm ok with the fix: the look remains unchanged that I can't even see it and now it never opens without me wanting to, even shaking it upside down.
I really hope this tip will make the next product or revision of this one even better, because I love my IQ.

About the capsules I'm ok with that. I use spacers without trouble but maybe capsules would be cool, maybe made of some high-grade silicon (?)

I've experienced the same problem, and contacted DaVinci for support.

According to Mike @ CS, it's an issue with the glue holding the o-ring coming loose, which is located at the bottom of the compartment where the flavour chamber sits. So if you've been messing around down there, you might've done something to cause it to come loose. This then causes the o-ring to rise when heated.

But not to worry! A quick RMA and they'll replace the faulty gasket for you!

And props to Mike at CS, he's my thursday hero.

Man, I have not posted in this thread in months. Re-arranged my vape & stash drawer and there it was just staring at me. Have some GSC to break the IQ back in watching Masterminds on Youtube. While I wait for the Rangers game to start.

Hi all,
I'm so excited I'm going to get my IQ next week and I want to make something clear for me before first using it.
I've ordered the glass spacers because ~.3g is way to much for me so most of the time when using it on my own, I'll use the large spacer.

My question is how to combine between the spacer to the smart path feature (which really excites me) and the main thing I'm wondering about is the session length - should I shorten the session time because there is less material than planned or should I stick with the 10 minutes session?

Also - if people with experience with the IQ and the spacers can share their smart paths they are using it will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Glad u can join us, welcome. I use the large spacer mostly and I don't do the fine grind. Mostly it last about 8-10mins but I usually end it when it starts getting wispy. I'm a low-mid temp guy so my custom path is 350-390, works great for walks.

I get about 4-6 good hits with the large spacer. Fine to medium grind.
I mainly just use 185c temp on precision mode. That way you can just sip as you Please.
Sometimes you want a quick bowl and others a sip and enjoy.
Otherwise my smart path 2 is 180-195c cover 6 minutes
And that is usually good
