Divine Tribe atty's

Well I'm kind of bummed, it looks like usps lost my atomizer that my wife bought for my birthday. Worse still i'm sitting here with psoriasis on both my arms and imflammatory arthritis in my elbow and both my wrists. At least Matt refunded my money and he was good enough to honour the fc discount. But the whole experience has been kind of shitty and he could have replied to my last email, even accounting for the time difference between our two countries. This is why I hate buying stuff from America. Now where am I meant to purchase from a dtv3 from? Not a fan of having to wait a month for something that may or may not turn up. I wish I had just bought the Saionara instead.

Damn bro, that's really unfortunate. I'm pretty sure Divine Tribe and HVT ship from the same location though, so I'm not sure the Saionara would have gotten there either. Seems like it's the USPS fault (not surprising)

Searched through the entire thread and could not find any about doing a burn off. I just got the v2 herb cart in yesterday but have yet to use it because there is no info about burning off. I did a few short 5 second bursts of heat with an empty chamber and there was a tiny bit of vapor coming out. Now i can hold it for as long as ten seconds with no vapor, will i be ok?

well I just had my first try. I grinded to a good course/fine texture and loaded half way and compressed it a little. I did it at 24 watts and started at 370 and ended at 400. Got a nice and even light brown color on it with no black marks at all. It is more of a session vape rather than a on demand vape like my grasshopper and MVT. I only mean this in the sense that you get much better results if you have the time to pull on it 3 or 4 times to get a nice and even heat. For what it is I absolutely love it!

I like to run mine with a 40 watt preamp and cycle the power button (to avoid the cut off timer) for 10-15 seconds after the oven reaches temp without hitting it. then Ill cycle the power button again and take a slowish hit that speeds up near the end. If everything is dialed in right you should get a large cloud on the first hit

How are you guys preventing the Gen 2 mouthpiece from getting completely clogged when using a fine grind?

Glad you're getting a handle on it, powerful machine indeed. It's conduction, so 'pulling' is not only not needed but can actually delay solid production. Pulling introduces cold air, right? Not what we want at the time, we want hot. I let mine 'cook' 20 seconds or so for the first hit (which is then full power). Since it's temperature controlled it isn't going to burn the load doing so.

It's also good to remember it's conduction (repeating myself....) and only the walls get hot. Not filling the chamber completely works against you. You might try taking only a hit or two from a full chamber, it will be easier to get a full hit in a hurry that way. Since there's very little mass, the walls cool very fast to under magic temperature, you can resume the session at your convenience.....or start a new one later without penalty.

I avoid very fine grinds, not really productive in most cases. In fact, I avoid grinders these days and use 'shredder' types which tear the material leaving more random shapes that pack better IMO. I use a 'lightly packed' load both for better contact (heat transfer) through the load and to keep the debris stuck in the bowl. And letting it 'cook' a bit before a gentle first hit kind of 'glues' the load together (much like we do with Solo stems.....). That keeps it clean enough between loads until more complete cleaning. I messed with a SS screen (1/2 inch IIRC) but abandoned it.

Vape swap shop
I got a dvine tribe v2.5.

Got some wax coming this week. My first go with concentrates.

I know the v3 is for concentrates but dont really want to buy a new atty, and anyway if i did it would not arrive in time. Was thinking of moulding a crafty liquidpad to the correct shape and putting it in the bowl. Would have to becarefull to get the size correct.

Anyone done this? Any adivse?

Know the castle thingy works like this.

Since this is the DT forum I hope it is okay if I ask this question here. I just set up my new Pico 75 and my two DT addy with Arctic Fox. I primarily vape herb and now I'm wondering how fine I need to grind for the DTv2 herb atty?

I currently have a large Santa Cruz Shredder and I'm unsure whether it grinds fine enough.

Yep. Doesn't work well as it 'sinks' the heat away. Best results are with very modest fills, everything that has to be heated up to magic temperature (but never does make vapor that hit) is a waste of energy that would otherwise have made vapor sooner and better.

By all means play around with it, it's a complex thing. Enjoy your gear and experience.

Please go about four posts up? It's conduction, so solid contact is a big plus but not to the point it plugs up the flow of vapor to eager owner. This 'tight but loose' trade off means irregular shaped pieces to me. Even intact budlets work better than find grinds. Whole nugs are worth playing with as well, not as solid a performer as in some other vapes but still useful and fun IMO. Flavor seems to extend further into the session to me, but that could be mental.......

I bet your shredder will get you started in the right direction. Remember cure is important, all the moisture you allow in with the load steals heat that would otherwise make vapor until the last bit is gone. Keep it dry, 'grind' medium or coarser, pack it at least moderately and you should be good to start exploring temperatures.

Enjoy,

Thank you and the other post you directed me was excellent information.

I'm new to portable atomizers and the mods that drive them. Stumbled across a competitor product with a pancake coil. That setup did not seem right so I went looking and found the Gen-2 Dry Herb Atomizer. Got an awesome deal from Humboldt Vape Technology (HVT) and paired it with an Arms Race mod to run in TC mode.

After 2 days, I'm getting a good technique and starting to find settings that work. The recommended 33 watts and between 306F-308F.

Does anyone have a formula or conversion grid for the DC Gen-2 Dry Herb Atomizer running in TC mode?

If I get a formula, I can create and post a conversion table.

Much appreciation,

~Jeff

Well I've been busy and in pain so didn't update straightaway but miracle of miracle my orders showed up.

Dealing with a chronic disease is one thing dealing with the USPS and AUS Post is another thing entirely.

Anyway the DT3V that I'd given up for dead finally made it here a month after first placing my order with Matt. I duly notified him because, well its just the right thing to do and I can tell he was just as surprised as I was that it turned up and that I contacted him.

I also ordered a black kit from Vic at Humbolt Vape when I was refunded from my first order at Divine Tribe and went for silver sai, tesla stealth and another DTV3 so now I have two Dtv3's sitting here. Funny thing even though they were ordered weeks apart they turned up within one day of each other.

Does anyone know why there is a picture of the gen 2 dry herb as well as the dtv3 with that kit, I don't know if it was meant to be included?

Problem is I have no wax at the moment, and won't for a while as I'm looking for a high cbd strain and an organic grow - a hard ask in this place.

Luckily i still have about 70 cana caps I made from rosin chips repeatedly pressed, dried and then turned to powder then gel capped. One is good for working and getting shit done, two is enough for my tolerance, three would put me in purgatory. The weed was a no name sativa with a boatload of introspection. I might risk ordering the quartz crucible but I'm still trying to work out my Relaux 2/3 box mod and how to get the best out of the DTV3 Donut. It kept flashing temp protection, when i tried the smallest bit of wax I had left - and ten second shutoff - is that normal. Settings are TCNi 31.2 w and 0.48ohms locked. 00.0A 350 f.

Still to try out the sai but it seems pretty straight forward on kanthal and black ceramic, so i dont expect any problems. going to stop writing now wrists are hurting after writing this massive tome.

I cant wait for the quartz
I can't fucking wait for this quartz crucible cup atomizer! I know @divinetribe been working double time to get this thing just right for all of us flavor head concentrate enthusiasts!

Just ordered a V3 while we wait for the crucible cup, have been wanting one for some time and at the price Matt give us it doesn't make sense to keep waiting.

Thanks Matt!

Volute of Vapor
Are you sure the quartz crucible cup would be for CC, crucible means dry herb for me but maybe I'm wrong. Can't wait for the water tool adaptater for the Gen 2!

Actually I use my Gen 2 with a cheap big VW battery (between 20-25w) cause all my mods are busy and it was a good call cause it heat pretty faster (not sure if it's good for the atty though...).
