Ive read its better to put spacers in first ? Do u need to put buds inside the spacer holes or leave it
The problem is not about the bottom, where I put buds, but on the top where the mouthpiece is. It's the top lid that's lifting while in use, not the bottom one.

When do we get capsules?
I have the spacers which are good for saving space but capsules just have so many stealth benefits

Personally, I love the idea of capsules. What we've struggled with is that it takes so much more battery, time and heat to heat up a capsule instead of just heating the herb. We did this with the OG DV and it just didn't get any traction. If anything, a superfine mesh basket would work.....but then we're back to that metal in the airpath not to mention scratching the ceramic bowl.

Finally, an official response on the capsules!! Ahem...

But first, I have to give props to @Davinci_vaporizer for the fantastic customer service to us FC members  I don't know how anyone could complain when we have a rep right here! Your presence is so appreciated, seriously...

Now, back to the capsules. Additional battery/time/heat, for me, would simply mean starting at 480 instead of 430, waiting an 30 extra seconds, and going through batteries slightly faster. Imo, that's a healthy trade off to not having to deal with loading loose material (think a windy beach), use spacers, deal with the pick and brush. Also, the capsule lid could push down to accommodate any size load. Food for thought?

Using capsules should have no affect on battery life, only one needs to be a little more patient while the flowers heat up, I've used them with the Flowermate V5.0s and they worked great, no mess no fuss.

To me spacer first would make more sense. It’s easier to know how much material to place in. Otherwise it’s Guess work and overfilling would kinda suck

At Long last I had the opportunity for my trial run! Been consumed with my Ghost. I was say I was underwhelmed:( ran Smart Path 2 and will likely bump down to 1 next time. Draw resistance was also crazy high, I had to really adjust and slow my pull. So some work ahead of me to dial it in

Hi @birdbat, Feel free to PM me here regarding any issues with your unit and we'll get you fixed up. The unit will buzz on start up if the battery level dips below 20% at anytime. Keep in mind that during heat up time there is extra drain on the battery, causing it to naturally dip and then self correct once it reaches temp. If it's not the case and your battery is full, then you either have a defective battery or a defective device.

Ok so I charged her up over night and took her out for a trial run. First day I got 4 sessions on smart path 3, second day (overnight charge again) I got 5 sessions...go figure! Not the 1.30 hours use I was hoping for.

Anyway, I shut off the annoying haptic feedback and did some reading about these batteries and see that overheating and charging regime are something I need to live with.

Generally this is a great bit of kit with best taste for a portable I have experienced. Nice clouds too. The design detailing is lovely. The way the chamber is loaded is a real pleasure and the quality of build is apparent from the start.

Disappointed there is NO PASS THROUGH HEATING. I took the battery out and tried to use (the led lit up) but it wouldn't work ... nor with the battery in (with low charge). Read the marketing more carefully and it is apparent now that the removal of the battery is your answer to this. So, I will buy a spare battery and charger...guess that is kind of necessary to get the most from this device.

Any pointers on batteries and chargers in UK would be welcome!

Battery is a non issue with replaceable batteries and heat times are a moot point. You save way more time in not reloading and dumping than waiting to heat a capsule
Please make the capsules happen and we would pay a premium for them.
You have the ultimate stealth machine limited by no capsules
Why not make it perfect?
Glass wouldn't scratch or even some type of ceramic pot
Thanks

Nice improvement on the spacers @Davinci_vaporizer! I had a set when they were first released and they were so fragile a slight drop and it would shatter. Had my IQ on the go and I was juggling a hot cup of coffee, my device and my container for spent material. As can be expected the spacer went tumbling down into the concrete, I was ready to just keep walking because I predicted the results. I was completely shocked when I picked it up and there was only a small chip. Indeed, the value of the spacers has just gone up in my eyes, it survived a clash with concrete.

I am still struggling a bit with this vape...Previously I ran on Smart Path 2 and got overly charred material and not great flavor. Last night I tried same setting and same material and couldnt get any visible vapor as much as I tried and felt almost zero effect from the session. It was some Buckeye Purple so its pretty much impossible to tell if material was toasted or not.

Why not set a temp you enjoy and avoid the app.

Try adjusting the gasket around the mouthpiece.
The gasket of the mouthpiece is placed correctly. When the IQ is off i don't have such problem.
Here's some examples, but first let me tell something:
- my IQ is really clean inside, there is no gunk or residue anywhere as i clean it every time I use it
- I use Sanyo batteries (10A - 3500 mAh as the IQ stock battery), so I don't think it is overheating
- I only have this problem when the unit is turned on, so when it's off it is closed correctly.

IQ ON:

IQ OFF:

I think the problem is the rubber grommet inside this chamber: it gets bigger in volume due to the heat and pushes the vapor chamber up.

try yourself different smartpaths and find what it suit you the best
or maybe the problem is with the grinding. try a coarser or a finer one.

Did u make sure battery hinge is pushed down and locked correctly?

Yes is firmly placed.
As I said and as I showed in the photos, when the IQ cools down the Flavour Chamber goes down and the top lid can finally close. I don't have to do anything: just cool down and it returns to normal behaviour.

You might have to clean underneath the flavor chamber if that doesn't work pm @Davinci_vaporizer and start a RMA.

My IQ is clean and there is no gunk inside. I clean everything every time I use it like I a have an OCD. There is no residue underneath the flavour chamber and I grind herb not too much fine to prevent building it inside.
I posted few images before with the flavour chamber: you can clearly see it raises 1 or 2 mm when the IQ is on.

Ok...swapped Sony VTC6 for stock battery and set temp as 360. Much better experience! I still think I have some work to improve flavor some but at least on a path. It also ran noticeably cooler to the touch with that battery.

I just used the app once to set my smart paths and then deleted it.
My fave temp mornings is 175c/347f.
185c/365f at night should give you nice clouds if you sip and don't hit.
I never go over 195/385.
My AVB is strong as shit as a result.
I used a sony vtc5a this morning no probs.

I hacked my little dear IQ with the help of my Ifixit toolkit.
I opened a dead hard drive and extracted the really thin magnets that control the heads' movements.
Et voilà now the magnet is a lot stronger and the lid is holding perfectly fine.

It is really thin and it closes perfectly. You can't even tell there's something inside.
I should recommend to use a stronger magnet next time @Davinci_vaporizer

So, it looks like the majority are in favor of capsules, and well, those that aren't don't have to use them. I've already been talking to the team about it. Quick question for you guys, does the capsule material matter to you? How would you feel about organic, biodegradable capsules?

Noted! I was reading your posts and pondering whether it was the magnet placement that was causing issues or the natural tolerance in the ceramic mouthpiece and silicone that sometimes causes this. Are you ok with your self fix?

@MAbud, the smart paths, particularly 2, should function just like precision temp control...except well it climbs over a 5 minute time period. Level 2, or any level for that matter, shouldn't cause any charring. If you're still having problems let me know. Happy to help where I can.

@Vaporcussion, thank you for the compliment! I'm a vape nerd myself and feel honored to be back on the boards with you guys.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

I think is something about tolerance. I don't think the unit is defective... maybe is just me opening my IQ too much that the magnet lost its strength (I use it several times per day).
I'm ok with the fix: the look remains unchanged that I can't even see it and now it never opens without me wanting to, even shaking it upside down.
I really hope this tip will make the next product or revision of this one even better, because I love my IQ.

About the capsules I'm ok with that. I use spacers without trouble but maybe capsules would be cool, maybe made of some high-grade silicon (?)
