I think dreams are indicative of entering a deeper, REM sleep. I guess everyone is different, but if I take a break I dream more and feel more refreshed in the morning
I find that I mostly start dreaming in the morning what I believe to be about 10 to 45 minutes before I wake up..but when I'm sobre and wake up from dreaming I just want to go back to sleep

It's not certain that you don't dream on weed though. I just woke up from about what felt like a 45 minute dream after talking with you about it. I had just recalled what some of it was after I woke up but then forgot about as soon as I got back on the internet

I noticed that as I and many of my acquaintances reached their 50's and beyond some started to complain they didn't feel like they slept and/or didn't get restful sleep. Funny thing is I've noticed that they did sleep. For example.....I know a few folks who will take a nap on a weekend for a few hours and then say they didn't actually fall asleep. My response..... Really? Then what was all that snoring and drooling going on? AND then that night these same folks will complain they can't get to sleep. Well....maybe it's that "Snoring, drooling, not sleeping" nap you took earlier in the day :lmao:

The new smartwatches that monitor sleep can be a real eye opener (Pun not intended) too. Sometimes I check the sleep log and notice that what I thought I got in terms of sleep is different than what actually happened.

Guess what I'm trying to say is for me .... cannabis, unless it's a Sativa, helps me to get to sleep and stay there. Dreaming and REM state aside....I get more restful sleep with cannabis.

My pops napped all day in front of the television claiming he's watching it and always got a full night's sleep. I'm 28. He was 55 when he had me so he's been doing that my entire life

Yes. It is a scientific fact that most people greatly underestimate the amount of sleep that they get in a night. Behavioral psychologists who treat insomnia have done studies that show this to be true.

When bedroom closet is in full bloom it becomes the "Festival of Vivid Dreams" at my house.
As to feeling foggy I ascribe it to genetics as I replicate previous members of family (who never imbibed) journey.:myday:

If they never imbibed theyd probably call you crazy for doing it then..that's how that stuff functions. Sobre people always have something for YOU to do

Ohmie,
When i used to combust cannabis it would make me feel tired, lazy, foggy all the time. I got used to it, & even thought that was the way i was supposed to feel. The first high of the day would be the one i would chase all day. I would tag team my joints with coffee to keep from dozing off. by the end of the day i would be exhausted but strung out on caffein, trying to get as high as i did first thing in the AM. Those days are OVER. Now with vaping i feel fresh as a daisy all day long. each time i vap i can get as high or higher than before. I feel energized, motivated, and clear headed. totally medicated in a great way. pain free but not numb. stoned but not stupid. blissed out but not burnt out ;)

I generally take a cannacap with a mix of 50/50 thc/cbd each night.

Fairly frequently my morning coffee seems to bring back a pleasant morning buzz, but its weak and doesn't last long.

And for those times when I do wake up and can't get back to sleep. A couple hits off my pen vape works very well. But then I may feel buzzed come morning. Again though it's a weak buzz that doesn't last or impair me in any noticable way.

And as you may have guessed, I'm a regular user

because the effects noticed from cannabis use are metabolic in nature if you dose before bed it is possible to turn those effects down when you sleep and slow your metabolism.. when you wake up the next day those latent metabolic signalling structures can activate in a low dose manner... I have recommended this for people with morning sickness... to awake with a few ready to awake too cannabinoids in your system

When I found out I was pregnant back in the mid 80s. I made sure I didn't use anything that could harm my unborn baby. I made sure I didn't use cannabis, alcohol or ibuprofen or anything over the counter. I had really bad morning sickness. The doctor gave me shots and I took extra B vitamin to help with the nausea nothing helped.
I decided to use cannabis to help with the morning sickness. I only used a little but it helped me a great deal. I worried that I might be indangering my unborn baby and felt guilty about doing that. I still lost 20 pounds during my pregnancy. When I had my son he was a healthy 6 pounds 3 oz. I think if I hadn't used cannabis he would have been less weight. I had nausea the whole 9 months.
I never told my doctor that I had used cannabis. I felt he might turn me into CPS - Child Protective Services.

Sorry slightly off topic. @C No Ego jogged my memory.

Fucking Claritan makes me feel tired/lazy/foggy! Cannabis is no where close to being in the same league. If I go hard late into the night sure I'll feel it, still not like I would if I were drinking or taking Claritan.

*Pray for our brothers and sistas in the Caribbean, Florida, Texas and those out west dealing with the fires. Good vibes to you all!

I'm coming to the conclusion that vaporizing late at night causes a residual sleepiness the next day. Especially, if it's done every day.

It's kind of like a very mild, mellow, heavy body feeling. It's a lot easier to get sleepy and fall asleep while lying down or just relaxing.

I wonder if vaporizing a few hours earlier would help, or if it's too much of an lasting effect to avoid completely.

If I vape into the night I certainly notice more lethargy upon waking next day... If I vape earlier in the night and allow some metabolism to happen before sleep then next day lethargy is lessened... that stalled metabolism during sleep certainly delays cannabis effects... I've recommended people vape directly before bed if they have morning sickness and the bioactives will reemerge when they awake in the morning... I've had reports of it actually working!

It most certainly makes a difference with me, having to be up early the next day. Ive kept my sleep schedule on point by abstaining from vaping past 7 or 8pm. Even doing it at 8pm sometimes gives me problems 4 hrs later. So 6pm is more ideal (and its my only sesh of the day on most days). My rule now is if it feels better to lay down sober than it does to vape a bowl of cannabis, then doing the ladder is a waste of herb AND time.

the best quote from easy rider- When Jack Nichols asked Peter Fonda @ night-Do I use more now and will I get addicted? response= save it man, it's a new way to start the day

I've gone back to an old habit of vaping as part of my bedtime ritual. I don't go for the full-tilt buzz though. Just a little relaxation vaping.....

8 hours later I'm still waking without feeling any more foggy than usual. The reason I said "without feeling more foggy than usual" is because I do feel some lethargy if I don't wake and move around.

If I wake, have coffee, shave, shower and leave the house there is no fog BUT If I just get out of bed, grab my coffee and sit behind the computer ...... my morning mental (and physical) state is way slower. That slowness is going to occur whether I vape the night before or not if I don't get off my ass the next morning.

That's a good point. How many waking hours after a session do you personally find effective in mitigating the majority of the residual sleepiness.

I answered the wrong question- not a surprise given my brain. So yes- yesterdays cannabis does affect me the next day. But it doesn't make me feel tired or groggy. I feel tired and groggy whether I vape or not and I don't think it's any worse when I vape.
The affect of yesterdays cannabis, for me, is that it keeps depression at bay. Or a specific type of depression.

with my metabolism and vaping tolerance I'd say even one hour but 2 to 3 hours for sure... it's certainly dependent on the person and strain etc... lots of variables.. certainly though a strong edible will have more next day residuals to notice, for me anyway... If I've been eating lots of cannabimimetics and supplementing my omegas too it will increase dosage results noticeably as well..

I dab. A lot.
I took a concentrate hit last night before bed and I didn't feel anything this morning. I'm assuming it's only if I'm really baked that I feel anything the next day, my tolerance is pretty high.

Ok, so I have some coconut canna oil essence - homemade... I use degummed hemp fiber to help filter vapor in my vaporizers and as a filler to take the place of herb and dose smaller amounts... after a vape session the fiber is coated in resin.. I save it and when enough is accumulated I use a glass dish and soak it in 91% iso alcohol.. evap the iso off completely and then add coconut oil to absorb the resin into... after a week or so it is ready to use...
so I consumed some last night before bed and started to feel effects right before dosing off... Now, onto this morning and I feel so awake! I've been wondering whats the difference this morning and remembered using the canna coco last night... so this result is opposite of lethargy etc... the wierd thing, using this coco oil during the day I noticed a very lethargic effect while awake- it basically put me to sleep..
