DIY all quartz airpath e-nail for flowers?

Would something like this work?

Basically a quartz tube like this (https://www.dhgate.com/product/diam...elegant/401144866.html#s1-9-1b;srp|1230643844) with a coil wrapped around it. You'd put one of those Cloud Evo herb baskets (https://www.vaporwarehouse.com/site/vapehale-evo-elb.html) in the 18mm connector which sits underneath the coil. When you connect it to your bubbler and take a hit, the air is sucked from above into the bubbler, similar to an inverted Cloud evo. Its sort of like the e-nail version of a Cloud Evo.

After scouring the internet for short while, it doesnt seem like such a thing exists. I know e-nails exist for flowers, but they are all metals and I was wondering why a fully quartz or glass one doesnt exist yet. Is this achievable, or do you see any issues with this? If so, do you have any ideas on how to modify it and make it work?

Well i dont see why it wouldnt work if the quartz nail has enough mass. I've seen people doing it with a ti-nail ,but i think some were reporting hotspots. I dont think that quartz will save you big time on the flavor cause you are still breathing the metal from the coil wrapped around it.. Maybe if the top quartz part (heater had an exhaust pipe for the air intake away from the coils ,then it would make sense to use it :).

Hmm, didnt think the coil being on the outisde would affect the taste, but I guess since its so close to the tubes opening it would. Perhaps I can find a longer piece of quartz tube to prevent that, thanks for the suggestion.

The Errlectric Herb nail uses a Ti heater with rifled air channels to spin the incoming hot air. The "bowl" is boro. There is also a screen. This is one of the most efficient flower vapes out IMO. It is self stirring. My Fully spent ABV is still fairly green. Although you can take it darker.

Ive looked into this vape, and Id be lying if I said it wasnt part of the inspirations for my idea. The difference being that mine would be all glass and much cheaper. In fact I was thinking of ways to incorporate the glass herb bowl into my design.

Btw, does the "self stirring" aspect of it kinda prevent you from microdosing/using small amounts?

It is great for small doses. In fact less is more. You want to leave enough room for the air to get spinning. It also helps if the herb is nice and dry, and well broken up.

I use ceramic and glass to vaporize my flowers with an enail (controller+barrel coil 16mm). The ceramic part is stuck in the barrel coil and is the airpath. This part comes from an old and obscure vaporizer but it's full ceramic and it fits perfectly in the 18mm male glass joint I'm using as a bowl (with a screen on the bottom, it's a 18 to 18 male to male adaptater). Taste is very good along with thick and surprisingly smooth clouds!

I can't compare with the Flower pot or Dnail Lotus although...

There some pics in a thread called "how to vaporize flowers with an enail" in the DIY section although it was the first steps but you can get an idea (I'll try to post some new pics!)

Almost there...

Wow, from looking at the pics Lazylathe provided, your setup is pretty much what I envisioned, but with ceramic instead of quartz. Interesting stuff, thanks!

Thanks Lazylathe, always so helpful!

How does the coil stay on?
The ceramic part is simply stucked into the coil and doesn't move while cold or hot, when I got the idea to manufacture it one of my main goal was to secure the ceramic part in the coil... and to build a sort of shield to avoid any accident.....

The ceramic piece comes from a dismantled Dragon Vape, an old and obscure butane powered vape which was really bad designed!

I'm in contact with a girl who is a ceramic manufacturer... but she doesn't work this sort of ceramic but she will try to make some more heaters to stuck in our coils.... I'll let you know...

Hi @babaganush , yes I thought about quartz too and contacted a scientific glass blower in my area... but he got a very bad experience with the vaping community and didn't want to deal again with us (he's not a water pipe maker, only true scientific purposes), so I stopped my searches here.

I think this is a very good idea. I'd be interested in hearing more how this is progressing. I'd suggest looking at glass bowl/glass screen like this one:

https://www.newvape.com/18mm-male-flowerpot-glass-bowl-9306

One sense that I have on this: thinking through ventilation is important for optimum safety. Just a well positioned fan might help, but you could also pipe air through the quartz tube and awy from the general direction of the enail.

This quartz enail seems to have a longer neck.

Another bell/whistle that might be handy is heat sensors to see what kind of temperature the air coming through this thing really is.

Unfortunately it isnt progressing, as I never really went forward with this idea. I still may experiment one day and Ill be sure to report back here when I do. Also your input is definitely noted, thanks!
