Enjoyed your Fury2 review, @paytonpenn , and I agree, there is a distinct background taste.

I have a theory after testing a bit with the glass stem and watching you disassemble the stock mouthpiece. Think the taste culprit is that disk shaped silicone vapor deflector. It takes a full face plant with the hot vapor. Nice design for cooling the vapor as it makes the forced turn into constriction, then opening up again for the wide mouthpiece. That silicone also indirectly protects our lips, as it shields/deflects the hot vapor rushing out the end of the glass tube, making an insulating barrier for the outer plastic. Wouldn't it be nice if the glass tube had one end shaped like that silicone, eliminating its need?

Anyway, I don't get that background taste when drawing direct with the glass stem. Even stops exposure to that hard black silicone shelf surrounding the chamber, that reminds me of the Ascent chamber surround.

Can naturally hold it sideways with the stem, whereas the stock mouthpiece shape requires a vertical hold. Its profile probably looks like a fancy box mod style ecig. Think solo, air, log vape folks would feel quite at home with the stem. Same concept. Stock mouthpiece with shield is obviously better in pocket on the go, when quick clouds outweigh taste.

The Fury2 is fast, cheap, cool, no restriction, no learning, no stirring, no charring

Pretty small too

Thank you, for you guys that missed it, here is the unedited Live video.

Thanks for the review, brother! Question: What do you mean when you say you like to reduce the bowl size? Does it change the performance of the vape? Why can't you just load a half size bowl without using that extra piece/screen?

Hey Healthy Rips,

For the FURY THREE, all that is needed is pass through charging so we can use a portable battery when out and about and can get a couple more sessions when inside!
The glass mouth piece is fantastic. The whole unit is!

OK, this seems to be the ultimate tiny stealth vape at the moment. But Payton Penn says "it reeks" when in use or after use. Now that does not sound stealthy! Or might that be a function of temperature, since he favors hi temps? What are people experiencing at low-to-medium temps, say like 360-380 F?

Well, it "reeks" way less than my Pax 3, for example. To be honest - If you keep it clean, then it is rather on the lower side, when it comes to odor. My Vapcaps smell less, but all other vapes that I own either smell (way) more or equivalent to the Fury. It is really not a bad stinker, trust me.

You might be right. I vape at the temps you listed and I haven't noticed any more residual odor with my two Fury units than with my other vapes. Or maybe it's got more to do with certain herb strains and individual olfactory sense than specific vapes?

Can one just soak the mouthpiece in ISO or will that ruin any part of the piece?

I tried some shatter in the glass container to test and it ended up coming out and spilling a bit around the oven entrance, I figure I can clean that up easily with an iso qtip....but the mouthpiece is really sticky.

I might just keep this for myself and buy a second one for my partner, I'm hooked on this design.

If I soak the Fury silicone cover in vegetable juice, will it take the smell out of it? Anybody tried this method? Cover doesn't smell awful, but it would be better without the silicone scent.

I think you want vinegar. But I noticed just a quick iso soak and dish cleaning liquid worked. It did take a few hours of clean air for the smell to entirely disappear on the cover.

I mean all vapes reek when in use. For clarification, when loaded the unit's idle (not on or used) smell is quite noticeable in a confined area. For me my car is the testing area for whether or not a vape smells. I have had some days where I don't bring the cover with me and 4 hours later I come back to a car that reminds me of Dank City. When the cover was on, I come back to my car and immediately think to myself, "Okay.. Where's the weed smell." As I lift the cover off the Fury the fumes just shoot at me. Now 95% of the vaporizers I have will leave a smell in my car without usage. The few that don't leave a smell are ones that probably don't belong in the car.

Smell is a form of stealth I don't think you should be considering with cannabis, you have a lot of control over that aspect and when it comes down to it, no vape stops your weed from being weed.

Fwiw high temps have a stronger stench in my opinion, but my mention of smell was in comparison to top tier vapes like the Firewood, Firewood can smell but does not reek. grassHopper in my opinion, reeks. MistVape Touch doesn't really smell. Pax (haven't used the 3 but I doubt much changed) reeks. I'm thinking Firewood and MVT have the advantage with bowl not being connected to the heater. Pretty much if your vape is loaded with fresh or abv, or hasn't been cleaned it will give off some smell if there is nothing to isolate the smell. Like the grassHopper has the leather sleeve which keeps smell in during travel, Firewood cooling unit (when clean) really reduces excess idle smell.

I have been using the glass piece just as I do in my Air and Solo. I have to say the taste is above average and stays that way all the way through. I can get two sessions at 360 and one at anything above 400 out of one load. This is extremely efficient as well as tasty!

Do not misunderstand what I am saying. The regular mouthpiece is great and the taste is only a notch below the all glass path. I don’ think you need water to vape with this thing. Water dilutes your THC, but ah, another forum.....

I have no vested interest. I like the way the VapCap and Arizers taste and this little beast gives me the same thing along with the same kind of extraction. The heat up time is simply amazingly fast. It is the fastest thing I own, and that includes my VapCaps—well, right there in the ball park.

Cleaning is a snap. I cringed when someone suggested it would be a great girlfriend vape. I think it would be better to say you need absolutely no skills to get this thing to work and work well, to clean it and clean it easily and to learn to pace yourself so you don’t overdose.

The construction is as solid as they come. It feels great. The rubber cover is a terrific addition and so far I have not lost mine. The inclination is to put it on the bottom of the unit when not in use, but this prevents air from going into the chamber. I don’t think there is a great work around other than, if you lose it, you got too stoned. Minor, minor concern, and actually not one at all. It is too big to lose.

I do agree the LED is backwards. It would be nice to be able to read the countdowns, no matter how cross eyed you have to be, without making a brain change because it is upside down. Minor, minor complaint.

I am already on record requesting the engineers at the company get “use while charging” capabilities into this unit. In the meantime, the answer may be to buy two......

Jeff

clear writing makes for clear conversation, someone would have read this and carried that thought with them if I didn't contradict it

thanks for coming back and clarifying Jeff

I just got my Fury 2 today and I must say, no funny rubber smell like the Fury 1. I detect a real difference here. I also like the more subdued label, and the removal of the green color in the name.
It also got here fast like the company rep on here said. Three days to me across the country from Cali is pretty good shipping time.

Shit Snacks

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
Had third bowl, this time was fully loaded super jack, did a session at 362 with someone totally new to vaping who was impressed by flavor, size, and control (they also had a few hits off Tubo earlier at 380). I then had another session at 373 in the car, could feel taste fading, but still not bad like the usual ceramic conduction vapes. With like 30sec left in that session I bumped to 385 and turned it back on for a final 4min season and left it there. Definitely could taste the silicone and metal after taste at that point as the terps faded, but never got an overcooked taste and again way better than most any other vape in this class that is only on its third bowl ever (had done two or three empty burn offs I think before first use the other night). Still got some more breaking in to do, and sure its not perfect (see what people mean about the air intake pinky block), but it may be an ideal simple budget friendly portable for newbies and pros alike (clearly, right?) I need to try the wpa to see how that improves taste even further, obviously won't be as portable, but maybe a new mouthpiece could be designed in the future (along with a swappable battery?) Yes its still very early for me, but I definitely understand the love on here and see how it can trounce a Grasshopper, even if it won't replace my personal Milaana ideal overall... Glad to have it in the mix though, will report back as I continue to explore my Fury (no, not my wrath lol)

Glad to have it in the mix though,

That's it. It's great for a vape newbie as main device and a real nice addition to the collection for any progressed enthusiast.
It is (besides the beloved Vapcaps) the number one vaporizor that I would recommend to my friends if they are on a budget and looking for a great device for starters.

My daily drivers in the meantime are the diverse Vapcaps and the Fury 1/2 for daytime and on the go,
while I enjoy the newly acquired Milaana more and more in the evening hours at home on the sofa.

A swappable battery (or at least passthrough charging) is actually all that I miss. The slight plastic/silicone
taste was gone quickly already with my Fury 1 clone and the rest is just excellent for a device in that price range (and even above).

- The heat up time is great
- Vapor is tasty, especially at around 175°C and maybe below
- Vapor production at 185°C+ is impressive for the size of the unit
- An Indica in the evening at 210°C gets me seriously stoned in that device
- A Sativa during daytime below 190°C gives me a serious and tasty uplift
- I never ever had to cough (besides small potency coughs)
- It is very stealthy, nicely built and feels good in the palm of my hand
- It is efficient (even with small loads)
- and I have yet to see a bowl that wasn't evenly vaped without any stirring.

I really like that little thing and see absolutely no plausible reason for reactivating my Pax 3 or Crafty, for example.

I threw a 10000 mah power bank in the pelican. After I'm done using the fury 2 I throw it on to charge.. noticed when it's done charging the screen turns off so it must have overcharge protection. my Anker power bank is twice the size haha

Much rather charge my power bank then carry around loose cells (in a case of course).
