Got a heatsink coming. Thanks for tip @KeroZen.

My plan is to stick some velcro to the side of my evic dual and the side of the turboX. everything is blue, blue mod, blue velcro, blue tubox.

If everything works will leave me with a tubo with removable heater. Have to figure it out when it arrives.

I have a lot of ideas going on in my head. Lets hope this is a sensible one!

Ehi guys,
I'm about to order the Tubo and just wanted to ask you what accessories I should add.

I'm ordering a whip (they look AMAZING imo) and a 18mm WPA (I have other glass adapters so I shouldn't need the 14mm).

What about the mouth pieces tho?
Definitely getting the bent one, but what about the other possibilities? Is there any difference in usage between the short straight mouth piece and the long one?

Very excited to be part of the family

I’m in the same boat. I got the short mouthpiece because I wanted stealth but and I wanted there to be less of a chance for breakage. Now I’m thinking I should have gone for a longer one.

Either way I’m pretty excited about this new “cure” for my VAS.

never wanted to beat that one ;)
I have the same problem actually, maybe a mode with a super eco mode after ~40 seconds would be nice and one click would set it to temperature again. So it's always ready but before toking you had to click once.
I think that would be optimal for my usage pattern  but also a bit of an overkill as the tubo worked very well since the first firmware I had on it :D

So I just ordered a tubo and evic in Poplar with a red evic and I'm so excited already :D.
Do you guys have any recommendations for good batteries and where to order in Europe?
I've ordered two Samsung 30Q of Amazon but the small box they came in was already damaged so I'm not quite sure if I should keep them.

@frosty234 I got mine from gearbest and they work. They overstate the specifications but you can infer the real model they ship to you and it seems they are actually real Sony/Samsung batteries.
Got VTC5 and INR R25 I think.
You can search for the battery name without the producer's name (with *VTC6*).

@leveltree : please stop recommending that, too many counterfeits around to take the risk. You have strictly no warranty that the cells you got are not B-grade or even worse re-wraps.

Buying non brand-name (Sony, Samsung, LG) cells is never a good option, they are usually pricier than the originals in the best case and most often they are just bad cells.

The risks are too high and we spend a considerable amount of time educating our FC community about them, so don't spoil everything by recommending to buy them from places known to sell counterfeit items (that includes amazon, ebay, aliexpress, dhgate, banggood, goodluckbuy etc.)

Can someone tell me what is a Tubox? How much? Advantages?
Normal Tubo is 2 in 1, Heater + Evic VTC mini in one body. Tubo X is just the heater which connects via cable ending with 510 connection to a mod device from the list. (the list is consistent of devices able to support the TUBO software . The original TUBO is a single battery, but TUBOx allows use of multiple battery mod like the CUboid 200w and the RX300 . Below is a video of TUBOx prototype in action.
https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t50.2886-16/20640451_1551903018165578_8717407344444571648_n.mp4

I am currently running the TUBOx on WISMEC rx 300 .sadly i have abstain from vaporization for while due some dental hell that is going on in my mouth. But i've had few sessions when i got it and performance wise it beats the OG tubo. Batterylife seems endless with 4x VTC5 . For some reason MY RX charges them only to 95% but after one session it gets at 87%,after second it went on 79%,After third it went down on 71% and then i got it back to the charger. Original TUBO has only 75 watts too offer and there is some heat radiation from the chamber which caused my unit to go into Device too hot numerous times and made back to back session impossible.
I only wish the cable on TuboX was a bit longer, cause if i dont put something under the mod ,it would just hang ,5-6 cm more would have been perfect, anyway it is no biggie.
The RX 300 offers 300watts of power which is insane ,but i am sure you will be more than fine with a CUBOID 200w ,its slimmer in shape and but has 3 batteries.
The video i shot got damaged in the transfer so i guess i would have to ask a friend to help me make one, cause sadly i cant have to stress my gums before an upcoming dental surgery, but trust me it is a real fog hog.

Pretty sure it would work well with any mod having proper TC/TCR/TFR support, albeit you would lose the extras FJ added to myevic over time (including cruise mode)

But maybe it should be made clearer as to not close some doors. Let's say there is "extended but degraded" compatibility with many more devices than the ones listed.

Chinese online Shop wouldn't be my preferable source for batteries.
I'd like to stick to some European or even better German shop.
Is there anyone german here who owns a tubo?

@KeroZen sorry for stepping right into noobie trap there, didn't know the hassles involved.
Just noticed that few of the recommended shops shipped to Germany (yeah @frosty234 i'm a fellow German) and most shops I looked were even more suspicious or at least double the prices. :\
I actually thought gearbest was recommended somewhere in the thread so okay.
Frosty you can go with conrad for sure but their 18650 prices are really something.
But I fear it doesn't get much better here, either very expensive imported or China shops :hmm:
If you find something then please share!

If you cant find locally i suggest those guys DCpower.eu ,they are from my country, but still in EU and real pros..
I recommend the VTC5 cause they are at best price ATM :) ,but IMO better look locally ,cause i always like to be able to go and complain face to face if i get a lemon, and not over numerous emails.

Ah yes I was on this site too, but is there an English version available, I'm not at all fluid in Bulgarian?
Sorry for the mislead .Sadly they have stopped shipping into EU ,only neighbor countries.. there was an English version but it was removed maybe for this reason.
@leveltree Check this guys ! https://eu.nkon.nl/ They were recommended by a friend in the e-cig business !

Ok so, I spent the day reading the whole thread (not recommended, the wait is already eating me from the inside).

I think that you did good with the mouthpiece choice.
I, too, decided for the bent and the short. Bent: reported by many as the best one for cooling the vapor. Short: best for attaching the whip to it.

Akkuteile is German, personally never used it but I saw it recommended somewhere.

Also maybe you can find something on Bol, but it gives me more of a Chinese vibe.

Hey guys ! If anyone is thinking of buying the Wismec RX300 for his TUBOx ,i would suggest to hold off cause there are reports for uneven battery drain in one of the cells, this is the case with mine also.. There is another issue also ,it not only has uneven battery drain/charge but also battery in that cell is loosing charge even when left off or in standby.. Currently reading that this can be figured out with a software tweak, but i dont know if it is going to be possible to implement in the current TUBO software.. Sry if i am not making much sense with the last sentence but software and coding are not my strong sides.. waiting to hear back from FJ on this subject :)) !
-----------------------
Another thing i noticed is that with the stock software you can monitor all 4 batteries at once while with the TUBO software you can only see overall battery life left.

Okay guys, so I received a package the other day.

0rNo8Qu.jpg

Two Tubos... one for me and one for a friend. Shipping was super fast, like 3-4 weekdays to CA, priority untracked.

First of all, I have to thank @funkyjunky for everything included in the box, I got everything I needed to have a great start with this new vape.

Coincidentally, my DDave cooler stem came the same day. And once again a big thanks to @DDave for hooking me up with the cooler and plenty of screens!

RZYt6cB.jpg

I tried to wait until this weekend to try mine out because I wanted to make sure I had a good block of time but it was calling to me and I just couldn’t resist.

At first I planned on just taking a few draws to test it out and then I would put it away for this weekend... that’s not how it went.

The Tubo itself is smaller than I pictured but has a real heaviness to it. I like it. Battery door magnet is cool and clean. The whole look of the Tubo screams cool.

First, I tried out the bent stem with a rimmed basket screen on the end. I loaded it so the space between the two screens was about halfway filled, very loose (every now and then I pulled out the stem and gave it a shake for an easy stir). I turned my Tubo on and all settings appeared to be in order, only thing I had to change was flipping the display, which was fairly easy with the manual provided. I set the temp to a conservative 175 C out of fear of combustion.

To be honest, the first draw I took I forgot to even press the fire button smh. Next draw I remembered to hold fire button and got mostly flavor, not much visible vapor if any. Subsequent draws started producing more and more vapor. I experimented with different draws and found that low and slow got me the best results and real visible vapor. Throughout my first 10 or so draws I was bumping up the temperature trying to find the vapor sweet spot. I finally settled on around the 200-210 C range, which is right what it was set to out of the box.

Eventually, I decided to try out “cruise mode”. In my initial post before I received the Tubo, I indicated that cruise mode didn’t entice me much. That may have been naive on my part. Cruise was very enjoyable, wasn’t as much technique in getting the right draw speed/heat combo. I did find myself wondering how much time was left on the cruise and thinking any moment it’s going to drop out of it and I won’t notice. Which would have been fine because I exited cruise before the timer ever elapsed. I think FJ once explained how to get a timer on the screen for cruise? Not sure.

The bent stem was a good experience, only gripe was vapor was a little hot, but not too bad. I then decided to switch to the DDave cooler stem... remember when this was only supposed to be a quick test? By this time I was feeling like a kid with a new favorite toy, very satisfied.

For some reason, the second rimmed basket screen that was in the box didn’t seem to fit in either the bent stem or the cooler stem, it was slightly too small so would fall right out. It did fit snugly into the short stem however. I can just use the original rimmed screen back and forth until I find a local source for these rimmed baskets. No big deal.

The DDave cooler was a treat. Slightly cooled down the vapor but the best part of it for me was what it does to the the draw resistance, I know a lot of people like zero draw resistance and that’s what you get with the bent stem and short stem, but personally, I like draw resistance, especially with convection. Makes me feel like the hot air is really swirling around through my buds. And the Cooler definitely added draw resistance. It felt like hitting a glass piece. I couldn’t finagle a rimless basket screen to fit perfectly without there being tiny slivers of space around the outside for particulates to get through, I may be more picky than others about this so I ended up shoving a screen all the way to the end and then inserting another rimless basket screen as far as it would go on top of the first screen so I had double screen protection from getting any material through the stem. I then loaded the same amount of herb as before and capped it with the rimmed basket screen. This worked great.

The Tubo really stretches my herb too. I probably took 20 or more draws and kept getting paranoid and checking the ABV but it was always a nice even light brown. Below is a picture of my ABV. The pile on the right is a random sample from my ABV stash from the Volcano, the smaller pile on the left is my Tubo ABV after a good 20+ draws (I do take shorter draws than most). ABV is pretty much even, Tubo pile actually looked more green to me.

aAPXkYB.jpg

I was blessed with never developing a tolerance so I don’t need a ton of sessions in a day, so the battery drain and subsequent re-charging isn’t too bad for me. It actually lasted longer than expected. All in all, I started my experience at 97% battery and by the time I did all of my “testing” the battery was at 51%. I’m sure if I cranked up the heat I might be able to get more efficiency per load out of the battery but I liked the experience I had with low temp/more draws.

Overall, great experience, very fun, and did the job! I’m very happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone who is contemplating getting a Tubo.

Great first impressions @kuzko ! Glad you are happy with your TUBO ,welcome to the ride :))!
Haha it is funny that it shipped faster to CA then to my country which not far away from FJ compared to where you are :))..
If your cap is too big for the cooler stem just squish it a bit between your fingers ,pushing the bottom up.

Thanks @Abysmal Vapor ! I was very surprised about the fast shipping, I thought I’d be anxiously checking my mail for weeks.

The problem basket is actually too small for the cooler so it falls right out. Has anyone run into this problem and created a fix? Maybe I’ll try fitting a rimless basket over the rimmed and see if that tightens the connection. It’s probably easier just to find new ones.
