too bad kim jong un ehm little rocket man has no twitter account , maybe they should do a wrestling match on tv and leave the world intact...
Over a decade ago i did some exploration for hydro power over there, didn't see too much people besides my dedicated police and scientist doggys, but in the mountain ranges (the whole middle is packed of them) don't live much ppl in general and i was there most the time so can't say much about his daddys regime...
It still hunts me that i wasn't bold enough to smuggle a camera in - the mostly untouched nature was so astonishing, beautiful formations in the mountains, a lot of endemic species and even some of the most undisturbed natural cannabis landraces on the planet (the embargo helped preserve that in a sick way...)

If my grandson called another child an offensive name ..... his mother, father, aunt and grandparents would immediately correct him. We would explain that it's wrong to call someone something just for the purpose of hurting them or making them mad.

Our president uses "little rocket man" when addressing another country's leader and has shown a proclivity for taking pleasure in finding other derogatory tags for all kinds of people that he wants to hurt or anger.

I really wish our president would behave better than a child. So embarrassing.....

Anyone see last Wednesday's South Park?

http://southpark.cc.com/full-episodes/s21e02-put-it-down

There are a lot of lessons in that one. To me, it is the meta-lessons that are most important. Sadly, I suspect most will just take things at face value. (From a person who's extremely nuanced positions on many matters had me called deplorable, racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, denier and a Nazi from many non-Trump politicians. Including another who was running for president.)

See if you can guess who said this:
The president has been very attentive to the situation, personally calling me several times. FEMA and the FEMA director have been here in Puerto Rico twice. As a matter of fact, they were here with us today, making sure that all the resources in FEMA were working in conjunction with the central government.

We have been working together. We have been getting results. The magnitude of this catastrophe is enormous. This is going to take a lot of help, a lot of collaboration. So, my call is to congressmen and congresswomen to take action quickly and conclusively with an aid package for Puerto Rico.

We are in the midst of potentially having a humanitarian crisis here in Puerto Rico which would translate to a humanitarian crisis in the United States. So, I call upon Congress to take action immediately. You know, Puerto Ricans are proud U.S. citizens.

Oh fuck South Park is back!!!! Thx

Yea.sad.tremendous.
45 is as basic as it gets, name calling is easy...you're a this you're a that, there now I've defined you in 1 word, no need to articulate.

New twat says there should be a rule that you must stand during anthem....but not a word about the hundreds lost in Mexico....

Btw jus found out he tried to buy the Buffalo bills in 2014 but couldn't afford them....a 15 yo bipolar girl is President.

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
So Puerto Rico, a US territory, has been recently leveled by hurricanes and our President is currently spending most of his time tweeting insults with football players.

OMG, he is now calling the people of Puerto Rico lazy and yelling at the mayor of San Juan. The man does not have an single ounce of class or humanity in his bloated orange body.

It really makes you realize, what if you are a US citizen but you don't live near Mar-a-Lago, Bedminster, NJ or in a major city? Are you, in fact, a second-class citizen in the eyes of the federal government? Is anyone really going to come help you if something happens?

So based on your location, you could be considered expendable? Like your life is worth less than someone living in Washington, D.C. ?

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
Originally I was going to make a small comment about freezing Nutella and making some sort of health bar by stirring other things in just before doing that. Maybe find a vid that shows this. Well I looked too hard during a youtube search. :worms:
The titles I read in the sidebar are below. I didn't watch them. Just wanted a vid for my frozen treat. :uhoh: I swear, one image looked like it was part of some sort of pundit style show. Nutella what mischief have you gotten yourself in? :lmao:
What's Inside a Jar of Nutella - a lot of sugar and oil and fat
Is Nutella Giving You Cancer?
Is Nutella Destroying the Environment?
and
HOW TO MAKE NUTELLA

I read all these health positives about it 6 months ago. :ugh: In fact I remember only being able to buy it in specialty stores. Now it's like Coca Cola. Oh Well. That last jar isn't going to finish itself. :peace:

In my whole life, never have I tasted Nutella.

But I worked with a guy that ate it everyday. He had a myriad of creative ways to prepare it to get it into his gullet. He should have written a Nutella cookbook.

A Lebanese deli near me has a back wall stacked with Nutella jars waiting to become various culinary delights. They must go through a literal ton of the stuff each year. I love their Avocado Milkshakes topped with banana slices, nuts, honey and Ashta. Yum!!

I always feel sick when I eat Nutella. Yea at first everyone like wow it so healthy....

Mix it with peanut butter sandwiches from time to time....ONLY.
It can be rich. No lie. I can see PB evening it out for you.

I know some that cut PB with mayonnaise. But I can't hack mayo myself. Just emulsified eggs yolks and veg oil with some vinegar or lemon juice etc. Separately O.K As Mayo - never. Can't hack it. Makes no sense.

Can see how it <ick> kinda works. To each his own.

My original idea was a lazy way to make nutrition bars by mixing fine ground stuff with Nutella and freezing it. It seems to stay intact at room temp. Then chomp chomp.

If I cared to find out what makes Nutella able to do this. Maybe something as simple as the vegetable oil.

In my whole life, never have I tasted Nutella.
There are more hazlenut alternatives. That might be more healthy or straight up hazelnut butter?

Herb gardener...
I don't let my kids eat nutella, due to the carcinogenic byproducts of what they do the the palm oil, to give it the consistency and enhance the flavours....

Thats why I'm a caveman....no one cares if you get cancer...
Even jonsons baby wipes in America has formaldehyde in it.....
Your evil government doesn't even worry aboutt giving babies cancer..
This strange world is fucked up, and I want no part of it...

Good dietary and health tip is to just stop buying premade, processed, instant-whatever, low fat, no sugar or anything from these companies

Makes it so you cant buy candy and have to cook everything yourself

Its like a magic trick without the magic or the trick

Well If I'm going to make my own nutrition bars and conventional products like Nutella are out. Back to the drawing board.

Organic or 'organic' is getting a little more mainstream and some groceries stores who sell conventional products also sell an 'organic' version for about a dollar more.
I do have the option to buy from the grower sometimes. Farm fresh eggs are cheeses are even more of a regional thing now in my area or at least I've been biking by more farms lately. I do think about rural regions who only have 1 smaller chain store and some of the aisle

Still have my budget, time, impatience, convenience and a palate left for some trash are things that pull me away from going full organic and start cutting out/down on things like sugars and carbs. Moderation for now. Still surprised the doctor told me to up my salt intake. Apparently that is much more of a good thing for me than others.

So anybody have any ideas for lazy but complex freezer made energy bars that can stand summer weather?

Early fall season on my part of the pale blue dot. So the expeditions will probably be started in the spring.

I been going through same problem with making a durable home made "energy" bar as in with oatmeal, nuts, honey, dried berries, peanut butter and whatever fills and powers my hiking trips

Ended up realizing I needed to press the mixtures for the bake free recipes, basically made a wooden tray with 2-3 inch high sides and a wooden board to fit in the middle, then I use woodwork clamps to press it into a firm block

I tried the "baking" recipes but they never dense enough and go to pieces in the backpack

Unless I use a lot of dates to make the bars more firm then don't need to press but got sick of the overwhelming dates taste

Though it works well with cacao bars (raw food chocolate brownie)

Pressing bars would be the space saving answer. @Hjalmark  Dates? Well I'm now thinking of things that would become sticky when squished. Freshly dried raisins, mangoes, crystallized ginger. A few of the first ones I try out might resemble fruit cake more than energy bars. :lmao:But with each trial, I'll refine things, but KISS. Add more nuts and seeds to the mix later. Then more of the greens and vegetable. The local co-op has chunks of energy of several types. A few raw food ones too. I should read their labels. :sherlock: They include lots of odd fruit juices with theirs. Things like Pear and grape juice? :uhh:
I do have some square glass dishware that fits inside each other and can come up with some weight distributing setup.:hmm: Perhaps fill the bottom tray evenly with all the good stuff after placing something powdery or cake-like consistency. Anything to absorb the moisture on the outside and have the surface of food 'tighten' a little. Insert the second bowl. Tip upside down. Place something heavy on top that presses down evenly. I could even get fancy with wax paper. (I won't).

They will be bicycle shirt pocket size. So If I do this right. I can share the space with my bars with my other normal stuff that I keep in my pockets. Will think about the clamps and wooden block method further also. :peace:

Dates are just good binding ingredient but you can probably find something nicer, but living out in the country side and not many good health food stores around for me

Need to maybe just order online because dried mango and crystallized ginger sounds perfect for an apple based bar.
Thinking about taking this to next level and getting a food dehydrator to make dried fruit from the apple and pear trees around here and all the berries I can find

Have this itch to make all my own camping food and been trying to do as much "homesteading" as I can but that easy when your living out on a farm

Anyone here do dried apples or maybe jerky at home?

Wonder if deer jerky could be any good as I can get that ... cheap :brow:

There is smokehouse options for the jerky, if it is on the gamy side. Never done dried apples, but that would be a good place to start. I figure. More control of how thin to go, etc. Or find out if they cure on their own or have that freshly dried taste. That range to play with. Pears aren't as firm as apples by their structure. Something to KIM.

Dates and raisins were in most of my searches for DIY bars. I'm thinking maybe golden raisins might offset the richer more molasses side of Dates.

Tons of DIY dehydrator info out there. Good and bad.:2c: Lots of different designs for the ones on the market. Or the lowest heat setting in an oven/ toaster oven under the right conditions. Depending how much you plan on getting with.
