I want the LINX!
I don't need it I want it!

@kellya86 what's in your EVO? (strain)

kellya86

Herb gardener...
You got it. It's an auto-off timer. They used to be ~60 minutes but I believe newer models are 90 minutes (unless they've gone back to 60 now)

Is this true...????
Can anyone confirm this....????
Would this explain the latest sting of failures..???

@ataxian it's og kush for me....
Its my main strain, i grow it constantly because I like it so much, i never get sick of it....
I produce others too.. but not on the same scale...
I have small stashes of original amnesia, white widow, pineapple express, cotton candy, and northern lights...
But the kush is by far the tastiest...

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
The LYNX (I love the design) wish I would have bought it?
One discount code per order. Sale ends October 31, 2017.
There is still time to get it with a discount. But with S&H you end up paying exactly $59.99. Most Dhgates pieces I've gotten from FC members have been around $45.

Yes. I know it is made for whips. But it is also a water piece that can sit on an 18mm joint with an 18mm joint on top. Looks smaller than the HDs already out. A large perc in a small volume. Too modular not to get. :science:

Never tried a BAG?
SACRILEGE = but I could be wrong?
Go to the EQ thread and check out the pics of the bag setup I recently came up with. I still use my EVO, but then I take those spent ELBs and put them in my EQ and squeeze out the last of the goodness. Plus with cloud buddy and some glass adapter, I don't have to remove the bag from the EQ at all.:science: It is really working well for me. The EVO and EQ are compatible vapes with the EQ fully modded for bags.
I can go CFX->EVO->EQ with the same ELB. :haw:
Are there any other ELB friendly vapes?

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
The Lynx arrived!

Stands 6 in. / 15.3 cm tall.

18mm male connector.

"Circ" style percolator.

Well it arrived. It is small little fella. Has a squat version of the HD connection with the same chamber above and around the socket. Which is amazing they went through the effort to keep that design.

It seem thick enough at the joint, but is a smaller piece that can get warm, not just the socket like other HD's. Light and small to take off one handed for some setups.

Perhaps it does condition the vapor like Seibo said. :hmm: I used it with Gong though. My 90 F/M, Tall F/F, Wand. to keep the 18mm path. so the whips would offer something different. My ABV was easy to crumble and stir then restir to powder at 2:40.

KIM this is a 2 hr impression. :D :peace: CFX at some point.

Thank you for the update - please keep us posted as you gain more experience with it. I am interested in the Lynx, because I really like the nebula whip, but it needs water conditioning. I suppose the conditioning is similar to the hydra mouthpiece which is not bad. By the way - what does "HD" mean? I am new to water pipes.

Forgot why HD stranded for. Ooops. Any of the Hydrobombs that came out before the Lynx and Hydra. There base covers most of the top of the EVO. Where the 2 new ones are smaller and more tube shapeed.
HydraTubes & Mouthpieces - xhl

I am liking it. It just might replace my DD or the honeymoon period for a while.

Did add some adapters below the Lynx, So I can lift the Lynx and finish, then back on the adapter. Don't want to heat stress the new glass. ;)
The whip adapter that XHL offers looks good to have. Whip hose can also be modded If you did want to go with that. Looks like anything of the right diameter would slide on?

Hose length 24 in. / 61 cm. Presume silicone hose?
I suppose the conditioning is similar to the hydra mouthpiece which is not bad.
I meant more about water conditioning,

But yea there were design considerations with the mouthpiece. It might be clone of another design for another vape someone else pointed out.
Easy hose slip on. Not getting that direct draw from the hose. That might be a taste thing too, perhaps? :hmm:

I want the Lnyx but will I use it?
I think I should have my whip somewhere here, but I can also just buy a new PVC and make a longer whip so I wouldn't cause the EVO to fall...

Now guys, I'm curios for the Lynx because of the multi person usage, can anyone confirm that its much nicer like I think to share with buddies? let alone the wife?
Currently, I was some TV with my wife on the sofa and we share the HT, however, this might make things much easier for a multi use and I could use HT only by myself.

Thoughts and help guys?

Hello FC

So I contacted Vapexhale about the orange glow the same day I contacted all of the FC fam about it and they replied today with a message that I have a VXL Order #XXXXXX on the way, it is tagged "Refurbished EVO", so I am assuming they sent me a new evo and maybe they'll ask me to send mine back after I receive it and test it out!

Full story --

Had my Bamboo repaired in August, got my evo early Sept. It worked great. Woke up a few days ago and it was glowing when I used it, even at around 2oclock on the dial. I told VXL that it's working well for me but they insist on replacing it for me.

I see, thank you for clarifiying. Smart thinking on the adapters! So many awesome things you can do with this vape.

Yep the whip can be modded - I was thinking of using the longer whip from my vapor bros box, but it's a different size. The nebula mouthpiece is a piece of art. The top of the whip adapter has a clear reservoir so you can see the vapor build up, also nice touch.

Yes the hose that comes with the whip kit should be longer. But, please don't use PVC. It probably won't get hot enough to release any gas, but why take a chance with your health? Just buy some silicone hose tubing and cut to size.
I also have the same dilemma when it comes to sharing with the wife. She also likes to use the evo but it is a pain to pass back and forth. I haven't tested this with a long whip, it may help. For me though, the EVO is too beasty to be setting up on my nightstand. I like to have something smaller and lighter for the bedroom. Right now I'm using my Vapor Bros box for bedside, but I need to get something new that's easier to use that still works really well. I heard a rumor that XHL is coming out with a portable version, maybe that will be the answer to my problems.

Hey FC let's play a game

HOW TO PLAY : Get a stopwatch ready (use your phone if you need to)
Set your evo to exactly 12oclock, turn it on and start the stopwatch at the same and stop the stopwatch once the red LED turns green.

post your timestamps here so we can compare how long it takes.. Maybe this will also tell us which evo's run hotter and which ones run cooler!!

I don't know just a fun idea.. We could also turn it to MAX and turn it to MIN and try the game!!

Here is my stat for 12oclock

2:37.14 so almost 160 seconds to 12oclock

Hi guys,

Sorry I didn’t see the questions a few pages back about my evo.

- yes it’s a uk unit.
- Originally bought about 2-3 years ago.
- Replaced after the issue but new unit also overheats and glows. I’ve been asked to send it back to Vapefiend as they contacted me to say it was likely faulty with the same issue, however as they don’t have any in stock (might have been a quiet recall on the recent units, perhaps just international) I’m keeping hold of mine until they do, as I really need it for medical reasons.
I’m keeping an eye on their site and soon as they have new ones in I’ll have it swapped over. Until then I’ll be switching mine off as soon as I leave the room, it has really properly glowed a couple of times in the last couple of weeks, and I’ve also caught it a few times just when the temp starts going up for no reason, so makes sense they want to sort it.

Hope it helps.

I will contribute to this when I get home..
Interested in seeing the variations between models....

People should also state if they have a 110v or 240v, and when they purchased their units....

None in stock eh.. seems strange for their biggest seller....
Possibly some covering up of some major fault here... maybe vapexhale/xhalelabs has recalled the lot of stock until this is resolved....

Came to read about grinders; fucked combustion
They won't sell factory seconds to gimps like me, though. I'd take one for 75% off. At this point I wouldn't pay any more than that, even for one that's not supposed to catch on fire or break.

For anyone that has purchased the lynx kit, have you tried using a hydratube on top? Does it still hit smoothly and maintain stability?

I’ve been tempted to get a hydrabase for additional filtration, but then would need an adapter kit as well. The lynx could potentially solve that and also work as a whip.

The overheating seems to only be happening to the 220v models I can’t recall a 110v overheating in quite some time. If youre on 110v the EVO is awesome and I wouldn’t hesitate to order one. If using 220v Idk.

So my evos are 240v and both purchased August 2016....
They both took exactly 3 minutes... to the second...
Coincidence...???

Now obviously we have to take into account environmental conditions and other variables here....
It's 18.8 degrees here at 54%rh....

2:57.05 For the DD. I'll post my second EVO at some point. I/m betting they are different in startup and from MAX to Noon.

It can sit below my hydratube alone but is rickety if you bump it. The Lynx is small and small in diameter. So I try not to push my luck with it. If I have it directly on the EVO, it comes off when I am finishing my draw. So I don't have to stress as much about heat stress.:haw:

The walls are thick enough. But it is a small piece of glass that will heated near the socket for the duration it is on. :2c: Extra weight above and heat stress on bottom are considerations. Did it once and not a fan. I kinda like more that it can be pulled off one handed.
It does seem to be smooth on it's own. Surprisingly so. Like drawing from a perfume bottle. You will need to add tsps of water at a time and it will need to be replenished more. I start with a few imaginary mm above the perc holes so not to add too much water and splash water upwards near the top socket opening and make it feel that chuggy drag part way through the draw. Perhaps slowing my draw 5mph too. There isn't a lot of inside volume and the whip they sell might slow the draw and tame the Lynx perhaps. I'm using Gong so YMMV with your Gong. The whip might do something else with the function?

It fits in my Vatra capsule. So it's nearly a portable and protected when put away. :luv: The Hydra might be a good one for someone with a portable with an 18mm M. Like say the wooden portables. Someone should try that and tell us. Although, I'm tempted... :peace:

I keep searching but can't really find an answer.

I've been dabbing with my evo for about a year now and while the efficiency is nice (longer tick clouds) I feel it also wastes a lot since oil always develops a ring on the top of the nails. I always wash my nails and lately I did a reclaim (boiled off the iso) and get 3 GRAMS of oil back. That seems like way more that I used to get back when I used my enail + quartz bucket and did reclaims.

Every answer I find says "draw slower". Yet I draw soooooo freaking slow and then still get a small (or sometimes large) oil ring at the top of my nail. I started to contemplate if this is because i'm waiting too long (10-20 seconds at 12 on the dial) and that the oil is re-condensing with no where to go, so I turned up my temp. That didn't solve the problem, it only made the hit faster and taste worse.

I tried putting it at 010 on the dial and waiting 30-40 seconds, got 4 long hits but lots of waste when I pulled out the nail.

I'm starting to feel like while the evo treated me well for concentrates for a long time, it might be time to move onto a high end enail. Any thoughts? Anyone done the same? Is there something I missed? Hell i've even tried holding my finger over the bottom after I put the hydratube on top so that the oil doesn't move around and that I thought was helping but it's about 50/50
