Herborizer corner

Been using my new herbo ti for the last couple of weeks and love the performance but I have a quick question which I did try to search for but couldn't find exactly what I wanted to know.

It appears my screen wasn't installed correctly like some have reported as upon first using it a couple of times this is what my bubbler looked like:

0Zb0SgR.jpg

When I had a closer look I could see that the screen seemed to be slightly off centre, leaving a 0.5-1mm gap on the "right" and then a larger gap (~2mm) on the "left" as it was also bent slightly up there, I tried bending it back and its helped somewhat but I still see alot of un-vaped herb making it into the bubbler still and all further attempts to move/reseat it fail as it just seems to pop back to where it was...

My question really is what shape are the screens supposed to be? As my next step was to remove, heat then flatten and reinstall, or fail that, just replace the screen but when looking at my replacement ones they look like:

DBlvGQe.jpg

Should they be flat or is this the shape best suited to creating a perfect seal around the edges to stop herb dropping through?

And does anyone have any tips for replacing screen or is it as simple as popping it in?

Thanks!
Im pretty sure it is in fact bits and bobs of herbs Carlos. I experienced the exact same problem with my screens sitting crooked and wonky in the bowl, no matter what I tried to keep it flat and snug to keep particles from falling into the bubbler.

I also expressed my preference for the XL bowl design where the dimples are lower so that the screen sits firmly and snug without any gaps at the edges.

And @Carlos8400 I can certainly understand how you found that to be a nuisance in the deeper bowl Sebastien sent you. The XL bowl is not too deep that it makes it too tricky, but I can tell that if it was just a little deeper, or narrower, it could be very tricky getting the screen in and out of that more tightly fixed posistion.

@Echo , what you want is some of the "Arizer basket screens". They fit upside down into the underneath of the bowl and keep all the herb particles out of your bubbler.

...I use the handle of a kitchen wooden spoon for replacing the screen. Yepp, mine doesn't fit perfectely tight too. I use basket screen in addition. I put it into the bottom of bowl's joint (18mm). After each session there is some debris of ABV on the basket screen I have to clean. Works great but should be unnecessary by construction.
My basket screens are from @DDave. He offers a simple basket screen shaper too so you can easily make your own basket screens out of normal ones.

I know, i was already confused back then and couldnt see a problem. It' a screen, how hard is it to put in place? Not very IMO.
I think it's normal to assume some crumbs will go through, but maybe i am less OCD than some here...

If it wasn't hard for some people it wouldn't come up as an issue? It's been obvious in this thread as it has come up more than once.

Based on some of the glass pieces and vape pics on here, I agree that some people are more OCD than others with cleanliness. But when I saw @Alexis brand new herbo ti + bubbler, and the bubbler looked like a swamp, I knew something wasn't right.... that screen!

That's a huge issue for me personally, the only thing that should be in my water/water tool is some condensed vapour that looks like boogers between cleanings....never GREEN plant matter....ever! But hey, that's me, and an expectation I have from my vapes and the screens that they come with.

I NEVER found green material in the water...What i find is RARE LITTLE pieces of particulate dark brown, and i clean my herbo TI and bong like 1 times x month. The same particulate i get using my tubo evic..
So this IS NOT an issue IMO. I just love my TI ^_^
Mine is the "dream stoner setup" :science::love:

Herbo ti + Tubo evic = :rockon::love::razz::o:brow::cool:

I feel that with thoose 2 vaporizers my setup is finally complete.

Well it seems we have a rift in the Herborizer family- between those who experienced herb particle fall through and those who insist they don't, or that it is so minimal and a total non issue!

I think it partly depends on what you are used to. Coming from the fixed, secure screen of the XL, which makes for the easist stirring, emptying and refilling, it was a big issue for me personally to not have the screen more securely held flat. The XL bowl design is perfect to me in that regard. I like being able to stir with my eyes closed.

It was impossible for me to give my Ti bowl a good stir WITHOUT losing a substabtial amount of herb crumbs down the side of the screen.

If you are just doing one hitters without much need to stir, or even anywhere near a full bowl ( @Pustupillo ?) then maybe you would not have any issue with this.

Alternately, @Carlos8400 is such a Ti herb devouring machine. Like a dumper truck, the heavy load goes in, gets processed quickly. Sure some bits get spat out on the road, to be swept up as you go along. But the day's work goes on, load after load and everyone is happy.

So usage style and personal vaping preferences and expectations, , OCD level etc will all be factors here.

I also have to believe that for whatever reason some users have their screen sitting slightly flatter.
Mine always was just like @Ech0_ 's photo above of the screen being a bit buckled and warped.
@Hogni , Ive been using my XL lately and I have to agree with you thet the red led temp light is way too bright in a darkened room. Hopefully Seb will come up with a cheap fix now I have passed that on to him.

And I also use a spoon handle to remove/replace my Herborizer screens, except it is a metal spoon with a very thin handle, which I also use for stirring the bowl!:)

Yes Alexis, im a one hitter guy ^_^ so i always use my herbo TI 2 times x day, with 0.1 at time, so im a totally microdoser.

PS when i use my most powerfull strain ( blue dream from humboldt seeds ) i go for a .07g, and is MORE THAN ENOUGH. IMO with vaporizers is possible to overdose with weed :ko:

Thanks for sharing man, it sounds like you have your technique and ritual down and I'm really glad you are enjoying your Herborizer so much. Keep up the positivity!:)

yepp, loose sit of the screen and construction of the controller are the only flaws of the Herb Ti IMO.

@Alexis, regarding the controller after some thoughts I find a good solution for changes of construction:

No white full coloured mark on the dial. Instead that

- a transparent mark and
- two leds, maybe a green and a red one, under the knob
- while upheating the red one shines. After reaching dialed temp the green one lightens.

I think that would increase handling of the controller a lot without much efforts.

Hi guys,

Happy to find you all here again.

Regarding the screens I stopped using the arizer basket screens, because they got dirty too quickly and because. I still use the original one, even with hashish sessions on it, and even if I have several spares.
I am not a compulsive cleaner, I clean all my setup twice a month or every change of strain.
To limit the fall of particles in my glassware, I use my claisen, which keeps most of the small particles that can be found in the water, I then recover most of this deposit to make butter (but one day, if i find the time).. Problem fixed !!
A dropdown will also do the trick.. And my TI continues to hit as hard (maybe even too much sometimes).

Well that could explain why it's a non issue for you, and is for others. My use is exactly 10X more than yours, so instead of cleaning glass twice a month, I clean mine twice a day. It's funny how I now know two people that sold their Ti's in favour of the XL! Interesting!

IMO with vaporizers is possible to overdose with weed :ko:

I put around 2gr a day through mine, 7 days a week, I would say i probably fill it between 7 and 10 times a day. I always stir at least twice during a session (usually every 3 draws or so)
I clean it every 3 to 4 weeks and IMO it never really gets that dirty.
I am still on the original grill on both my Tis, and they were bought in early March.

8 months on i still haven't had a problem other than breaking an injector during cleaning (i now have 2 spares just in case), and am still as happy as i was in the begining.

I had my first drag on a joint in 8 months yesterday, there is no going back!

Bit's and pieces are just a fact of life for the vaporist...happens in every vape I own. It's like ash for a smoker, no way around it.

I have a setup almost identical to @MrMonss, and I like to put some degummed hemp fiber in the adapter he's using, just below the bowl. It's a good way to keep stuff clean and get a good visual for what is actually blowing through the screens. All of my high end vapes with just one screen (like this one and the VHW) get more bits coming through than the ones with a module system like the Evo or MV. The great thing about using a filter is I don't care about bits anymore, and I can revape that shit at will for killer hits.

My problems with stuff falling through the screen has been well documented on this thread, Arizer EQ screens are a must for clean glass! @Hogni has the same technique as I do for putting the screen in - wooden spoon handle through he narrow end, my little finger through the other, clips in, easy!

Shame the TI isn't getting the same love as the FP, they are pretty equal vapes. I like using the TI more - easier to stir, and there's no carb cap which makes is much easier to operate. And I know it doesn't matter really, but aesthetically TI is way sexier. There's something very ugly about the FP, whereas the TI looks svelte, modern and minimalist. If I have a lady friend over, I hide the FP but the TI can stay on the coffee table :) Either way, the hype in the FP thread is fully justified, but I think it applies to the TI as well - truly next level vaping.

Re the controller - I'm happy with it as it is! Mine is left on the floor out of the way. The dial lets me really fine tune the temp. It does feel cheap but it does the job!

@biohacker did you ever actually get to try the TI out? I remember waiting to hear your critique but was sadly disappointed you sold it on!

Negative, not that @lazylathe didn't offer the opportunity, but we share much of the same tastes in vapes, and I decided to go the FP route. It's just better for my situation, as i'm too clumsy to have a glass vape in my hands.

How is the ti easier to stir?

I understand completely, you won't be disappointed either way! The TI bowl is deeper - FP bowl is very shallow and when full up you have to watch for bits falling out when stirring.
