I have a dozen Essence units ready to go. Planning a roll out deal, the Essence, a WonG, and stir tool/collar. I hope to have the details worked out in a few days. A portion of each sale will be donated to the Salvation Army for disaster relief.
Also I have some glass frits for the inlet tube instead of the SS screens. @paytonpenn showed one of these in his video. We have discussed it and I'm moving the frit to the end of the inlet tube. As @paytonpenn noted the flavor is better with the frit but air flow is a bit restricted, but the restriction is minimal.
I'll post pics soon.

Here is the kit, Essence, WonG, stir tool and collar.

I changed the stir tool to a 1/4" rod, it can be used to place and remove screens from the glass stems which makes it very handy.
Found a new supplier to make the WonG, insert and stir tool/collar. They will have pricing for me this coming week, then I can calculate the price for this kit.

I love the design and the wood pieces. However, just a little concerned about the possibility of inhaling and having the taste of butane. I just bought a SBj, and my partner who is very sensitive to butane can't handle using it (doesn't bother me though). This would be the only thing holding me back from buying an Essence.

I think it has more of a butane flavor than the SBJ fwiw. I don't really find either to bother me but its easier to get poor butane like flavor with the Essence versus SBJ. I blame this on the inconsistent heating methods that may vary by user.

@paytonpenn & @mistvaporizer

- maybe having a curved flame intake piece instead of a straight one might help with the butane issue and user's inconsistent heating technique.

@paytonpenn does water clean up the butane taste?
@Tiny88 the glass frit in the air inlet, that is going to be standard, helps the flavor a lot. The air path on the Essence is glass, maple and stainless steel with the majority of the material being glass. I've been working on a water attachment for the Essence and may have something to show soon.

The pre order for the Essence kit is on, $105 including U.S. shipping. For each sale $10 will be donated to the Puerto Rico/U.S. Virgin Island relief effort. The kit will include a fritted glass air inlet for enhanced flavor.
I have parts ordered and expect to start shipping in 8 to 10 weeks. I do have 10 units in stock so the first 10 orders will ship within a week.

I have been tinkering with the air inlet on the Essence, here is a crude first try
9J78x4b.jpg

notice the opening is now on the side. I have ordered some new glass pieces and should be able to make this pretty smooth. It works really well and if you aim the flame directly into the opening it hits the glass and helps prevents ignition. If this works out I'll send inlets to everyone who already bought an Essence.
And this is the Beer Bottle Bubbler
Zh3ARg0.jpg

Turns out this set up is too high to be comfortable but the idea has merit. Going to work on this and make it a fancier piece.

Cool bubbler! And digging that new intake, seems like it'd help me have more consistent results. I do tend to prefer my bent stem intakes over the straight ones, a little easier to aim. Well done sir, always innovating and improving!

Ok i made it home just walked in the door. My package was in the mailbox. I opened it up...i must admit i like it. very stealthy looking. I could carry it in my shirt pocket and people would think its a pen. I do have one very major complaint. Would be nice to include some instructions. @Vitolo its been a minute since i have spoken to you but i must say....i LOVE your videos. I will copy your technique on this vape.

Question...there was some white material in one of the glass pieces....do i remove it??

I will test it out in the morning when i awake. i got some Golden Goat to test it with. I really think you should include some instructions or some pictures on how to use...i dont need it but it would help out a bit.

@Vitolo the music you had playing in the background kinda touched my sould a bit....that was some funk ish to go along wtih your vape session...please keep it up. please please please

White material should be glass frit?

@hoyo77 I haven't put together a hard copy instructions but there are some tips here
http://www.mistvaporizer.com/essence
The white piece is a glass frit to help prevent combustion, do not remove.
The video you included in your response is mine not @Vitolo but I am happy to be mistaken for him. The music in my video was from Charlie Parker, I am planning more in the near future.
If you go native (no bubbler) keep the flame in front of the opening and move it around to regulate the temp, you will feel the vapor temp and will find the sweet spot. I can get dark brown abv with very efficient extraction. A half filled stem produces 4 to 6 nice hits.

My bad dude....thanks getting ready to test her out now.

Ok so i got my coffee and i am trying this puppy out. Could not find my golden goat, so i am running some lavender jones thru it. First session i did not get any vapor but the material was completely vaped and i got a tremendous amount of flavor. lavender jones tastes soooooo good. loaded her up again and cranked up the heat just a bit. We achieved the milk shot!! I am a big fan of butane vapes and the essence will be in my suitcase going with me to denver every week!! I would like to know if i can get a custom one made out of some burl that i got laying around!!

Now that i have come down a little bit let me say a little more about this vape:

Great flavor, with butane vapes you can get the whole flavor gambit from low temps to high temps. butane vapes are great for this. breath, fire and distance. takes a bit to master but once you get diealed in they are great. It took me a couple sessions to get dialed in but i am there.

I like the restriction on this vape....probably a good thing dont wont to suck the flame all the way down.
That stir tool!!!!!
That bowl to use with the stir tool!!!
I will probably be using the gong piece a lot as my main stem. Can i get one a couple inches longer???
I travel a lot for my job and this vape just earned a spot in my suitcase!

I have more success with a very fine grind. once mastered you i can probably go to a more course grind. if you are a cloud chaser...go with a fine grind and you will like what you see and you will love the effects.

excellent vape for micro dosing!
caviar and moonrocks are awesome in this vape. u can start out at low temps and take all the way up to get every bit of that ooey goey goodness!!

@hoyo77, glad you are enjoying the Essence. The custom burl Essence might be hard to do. Burl doesn't have a lot of grain structure so it tends to crack easily, especially if it is thin walled. Eds_tnt posted a log he had done in burl and it split apart (Instagram post), his logs are much thicker walled than the Essence. Any other wood I am willing to make a custom one for you.
The longer WonG is doable let me know and I'll figure a price.

Here is a new air inlet the latest in the side port series.
Whz4ErS.jpg

Side view looks like
2hN67wd.jpg

The bends in the glass seem to help prevent combustion, there are no frits used.
I'm happy with the results so I am sending some off to be tried by others.

Just got home and the new inlets were in the mailbox waiting for me. getting ready to try it out.

I like them..the draw is free so you can really load the bowl. the old inlet i went with a half filled stem, with these i can load it up and it hits a bit harder, still great flavor. i like that these new inlets are a bit longer to compensate for the white thingy not being there.

Beer bottle bubbler v2.0
6aEpJw5.jpg

The mouthpiece needs some refinement but this works pretty nice. The air channels are in the wood and connected by the two glass tubes. There is room to move the glass tubes up and down allowing for 3 inches of height adjustment. This one is made out of scrap wood, the base is a piece of pine which I'll replace on the next one with maple. One nice feature is there are 14 mm tapered wood fittings that the Essence and the mouthpiece plug into. The tapered wood fittings are like 14/23 ground glass fittings, with the WonG you could also attach the Touch or any other 14 mm vape. This also needs a carb hole for clearing the bottle of vapor.
I'll try to get a video soon and then send a couple out for testing.
What is your favorite mouthpiece design?

Here is a clip I did
Beer bottle bubbler proto with the Essence using the side port air inlet. Look at the picture in the previous post to see how it is set up. I'll get better video but I think this design is ready for some cosmetics and real testing.

Recently got some maple for the B cubed (Beer Bottle Bubbler)
Going to try thick base wood to give me plenty of room to work channels in and to provide some weight and stability. Still thinking about aesthetics and have a few ideas
Other interesting item is that my glass guy has a prototype coming up for me. It is about the size of a soda can with 14 mm joints.
