Yea they are showing 239 now for me too. I think that's probably the correct price lol. 289 would be crazy.

exime,
I'm about to get the Arizer Air because of the price drop :D It will be my second vaporizer. I have the flowermate mini pro and love it. I can't justify more than 150 bucks for a "gadget", but am excited to get this even if it's not the latest and greatest. I was really wanting an Extreme Q, but hubby insists on vaping in an inside room that has no wall outlet... yes we still are hiding from the man...lol... so I'm going to get the Air.

I'm not one for buying the latest and greatest either. I wait for the price to drop and reliability to increase. Arizer however is pretty reliable from the start.

Finally got my Air back!

Apparently it's not "my air" though, as I believe I was shipped a new one!

The oven is pristine, the protective plastic was in place, it's got a different SN, and it's giving me "burn-off" smells.

This last week was tough to be apart. I suppose I should grab a vapcap for the next time.

That is exactly what I did.....Vapcap! Very happy with it.

I am also wondering about the heating smell. I hope the Air2 will be better in this regards.

I think the smell / requirement for burn offs is because of residue from the fabrication process. As far as I know this is for all vapes, not just Airs.

That's not what I was talking about. This is an older unit, that developed this, right? I assumed it didn't smell the same way when new, could be wrong?

FWIW I think many vapes 'come clean' and don't benefit from burn offs. No harm, of course, folks should do as they see best. People get excited about 'mystery vapors' (fear of the unknown is one of the few honest genetic fears we have, fear of loud noises and falling are on that list?), especially if there are Silicon rubber parts it seems. Even though such parts, when made with 'food grade' catalysts (more expensive, Platinum based IIRC) there is verifiable health risk involved. Nor is there a real end to such outgassing. NASA did some work early on and decided even in vacuum such gas evolves at lower and lower rates until it quietly slips below detection. More sensitive gear lets you start again.

Guys have advised each other on using a strong flashlight in a dark room at just the right angle in still air.........

And it varies unit to unit in the same model. I bought several FMs a while back, some came with stuff in the ceramic to cook out, some didn't.

And there's the whole matter of sensitivity. IIRC 'normal' peoples sensitivity to common smells varies over a thousand to one as you go from citizen to citizen for most smells. The old joke about 'probably can't smell himself' can in fact be true.

A true slippery slope deal IMO. It's good to be concerned about the unknown, but verifying the threat is probably good before you reject gear otherwise suitable?

I got my air this week! I really really want to love it.

I was wondering if condensation is common. I have a flowermate mini pro and never had an issue with moist material. The first time I used my air, there was so much condensation that it was bubbling. My material ended up soaking wet. I promptly removed the stem and used another strain which is dryer and got some pretty good results, however there is still condensation in the stem.

Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong?

Sounds like wet herbs, are your flowers dried properly granny? You might try leaving some of the higher moisture material out to crisp up a bit.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did leave it out to dry out. I'm getting good vapor, but still have a small amount of condensation in my stem. Just wanted to make sure it was normal.

cannagrandma,
I usually get fogged up on the first hit or two when it's a cleaner stem, but if it's as bad as you say it is, it sounds like a bud problem..
Thanks. I had some dryer material and got some amazing clouds. I was just a little concerned about the moister. But if it's normal with a clean stem, I am fine with that. I will just have to work on getting it dirty :D

Yes, it's normal, and has been discussed several times. The moisture condenses easily on cool glass, and as KF so correctly points out, a squeaky clean stem tends to do it less. And in any event as the hot air passes warming the glass much/most disappears.

You want it well cured (dry), don't waste valuable heat making water vapor rather than the kind we really want. And enjoy the Air, solid product almost certainly working as it should.

Thanks so much!!! That makes lots of sense. I guess I need to take an afternoon and really read this thread :)

For arizer air 2, if they do not include a microUSB or similar port I probably wont upgrade. I dislike whoever put that port on this vape, very annoying.

EDIT: I did not know it was already out and has a microUSB port!!!! YES! Glad there was a solution using modified cords from ebay, but having a standardized port is better IMO

I could be, but that depends hugely on you. What you need by was of dose, how much you put in in terms of potency and how skillfully you extract it (mostly not taking more than needed I think. As a group this varies a LOT. We have a guy that uses a gram a month......yes, one gram, 30 days. We also have a guy that rolls 7 gram blunts and kills them in a single session.

A full stem is maybe 1/4 gram (250 mg). If it's very potent, say 20%, there's 50 mg of THC available, we can get most of that but will leave some behind. If 10 mg is enough for your needs (IMO highly unlikely from a MMJ POV) you can hope for five sessions?

Air is not magic, it's very good (meaning it wastes little) but like so much in life you have to put it in to get it out.

FWIW, I think most folks end up getting two session from a fill? 5 is probably wishful thinking.

If one were to eat the vaped product afterword, wouldn't one be absorbing all 50mg eventually?

Interesting question. 'All' is probably not possible, but 'most' would be?

However, the small amount you'd get from digestion would enter the blood later on, after the aspired vapor. In fact most would come as THC was being stripped from sensors and would only slow that a bit? I doubt you'd notice?

Interesting question. Hard data on uptake seems not easy to find. It seems that a huge factor not often discussed is particle size in vapor. Make it too small (sub micron) and they basically get exhaled, failing to attach. A few microns is ideal and will go deep into lungs and remain between breaths for increased uptake. Larger still (like 10 micron and up IIRC) and it's less likely to make it far enough to reach the lungs. That which lands on the throat, sinuses and so on never really gets absorbed. Or so I'm told. Noah (one of the Principles at TV) was big on this idea, he claimed that was part of the success of Revolution/DART and the EO carts. The designs favored the right size particles for effective uptake.

That same advantage was produced in T1 and Cera herb carts (also Evolution to perhaps a lesser degree) by using uniform 'overheated' air to do the work by true convection. Having a surplus of heat at the surface where the vapor forms keeps the particles from recombining as much as they normally would......or so was the claim. Still I think the particle size issue is real, it shows up in other places like 'Black Lung Disease' for instance.

I concur, I love that they changed to the micro USB port. It wouldn't have been a deal breaker for me since I carry around my charger everywhere, but it's a nice upgrade. :D My Air II is on its way. I plan on giving my OG Air to a friend in need.

This is a great addition, highly recommend it. You can really take some deep rips with this.
