Hey guys, someone might be able to help me here, so I coming right to the spot.

My IOLITE2.0 has some troubles to generate the heat properly. It has a low and slow sound after igniting and keeps at it for about 5-10 minutes. Then once heated up, it seems getting back to normal. I already released air once and it didn't made a difference.

I tought about opening it and check it for myself if possible. Anyone here with some hints to fix things up?

Be certain you are using one of the accepted Butane brands.
Iolite brand
Colibri
Newport
These are the main 3 brands that now function properly for the tiny jet that is inside the unit.
Iolite says that the other butane brands have impurities that hamper function.
You can always contact Iolite. You are likely under warranty, and Iolite always makes it right.
Read the information at http://www.iolite.com/warranty_policyand see if you wish to pursue this avenue.
Iolite does not repair units, they replace them with brand new ones.

Well I guess I didn't used one of these brands. I tought normal lighter gas would be fine as well. As I have my device longer than 2 years now, they won't replace it. Any chances to clean the inner parts somehow?

Yes.
Iolite recommends emptying all fuel (purge it), and refill it 3 times with one of the recommended fuels, This should remove any remaining residues of the old butane, then follow with a session that lasts longer than most, to clear the jets.

Well I got my hands on some newport butane and cleared the fuel like 3-4 times. It got worse before it get back to how it was (like from super low to low and heating up afterwards). Looks like all the impurities are moving forward after all. I'll stick to the newport butane for now and will report what the results are.

They still make these things! I went through like six of the OG iolites... got tired of replacing them, they are not daily drivers as I tried to make them plus a static heat setting sucks I've come to find out... need those temp adjustments for better use... God I remember trying like a hundred times to get these things started sometimes... cold weather and you can forget it

Yea, it's my 2nd as well, but the 1st one died after I've left it in my car while running and it melted a bit in the middle (totally my fault). But this one is a different story. Not sure if it even works out if I open it up. Well, I'll try to give it 1-2 more rounds with the newport butane before opening it up.

Good luck... since I've moved from the iolites it's been a bunch of OG davinci vapes= a minor step up from iolite because of temp adjustment up to 446 degrees F... sold on ebay for cheap too..
next is haze V3 that is awesome and recommended and an Odin vape that works like the davinci with temp adjustments... anyway, those temp adjustments make the vape

I'm not sure what's going on with the IOLITE. It starts up low and now heats up all the time and doesn't stop, like the temperature for the shutdown isn't quite reached. It still reaches the temperature to create regular steam though. I guess I'll need to look up for an alternative.

Possibly a thermostat issue.
I have my original 2 Units that were my daily drivers for 3 years.
I now load the pair and use them both on the road about once a week.
At least for the moment... your clicker still creates a spark!

Yea, I'll move on to an electrical one instead. It's all about the up and downs for every vaporizer I guess. Once it stopped working at all, I'll check something out like a davinci.

I appreciate your help and everything. Same goes for Ego. You guys doin' some good work over here.

The days of clicking that clicker! looking at that tiny little light to change colors... that is the most finicky vape ever! amazing that you still own them after all that time... guess I was hard on mine lol

thanks for the compliment @Da_Jackster ... there are much better portables now than davinci IMO, at least the original davinci anyway..

Small update as I've finally opened up the IOLITE 2.0. It's the same as here. The inner part has burned itself to a somewhat degree, causing it to block the inner flow. After reassembling, I got a short spark, and that's it. It doesn't ignite anymore. So time for getting a battery powered vaporizer. Not gonna bother with a butan powered one anymore.

Butane powered as in sticky bricks or vapcaps will last you a lifetime. Thankfully, they work with a lighter full of butane rather than powered directly by it :) Both are miles better than the Iolite and contain no moving parts or ignition type stuff.

I saw a friend today I havent seen in a while. All they use in their house is an Iolite. I've got a feeling they might taking my spare NewVape Flowerpot off my hands :) Thats gonna be one hell of an upgrade if they do :)

Due to changed circumstances, I'm no longer forced to use a butane powered one. Though the vapcaps is kinda cool. :) I'm still searching for a battery powered alternative. I'm thinking about a Flowermate V5.0 Pro Mini (still not sure, read something about some of them died after 12-18 months) or a Storm Vaporizer Pen (looks promising).

be careful with pens... I do not know about the one you mentioned but pens are questionable... a larger portable has better vapor and can work...

What is your budget if I may ask?

Alrighty, I guess I'll still use an IOLITE after all. :) I found a new one for around 80 dollar. It's like considering the pro's and con's after all. First of all, I know how to use it. And I've looked up for how long I've used the previous one, which is one year and 9 months. That's fair enough. Then I can use the stuff I have from the old one as spare parts. Also the optimizer ring I've bought separately isn't completely useless.

Nevertheless, I will keep looking for a electrical one as a sidequest. Maybe I'll get my hands on a cheap alternative vaporizer.
