Cheers mate. Was just looking through their store. Quite nice. I saw you posted a pic at one stage of your SOL Lace Perc. I had the exact same piece a few months back but sadly it met a premature end. I did think it was a nice piece.

This perc is similar to a matrix perc in diffusion. It has 1 less perc than the FC 186, but has the Faberge aspect.
I don't notice much difference between my FC-186, and pieces that I have that I would consider to be on the diffusion level of that piece.

I'd simply get this piece for the fact that it's brand new by CCG. I'd get pieces with both their new percs.

TBH, this new perc feels like a honeycomb perc to me. Am I wrong in that?

When you say that sunshine store has the factory, does that mean others on the gate don't? I would assume that Stevenlmz has a factory? But I don't really know anything about this.

I saw at 3 lhs in texas that I went to, all had an area with Chinese glass at much higher prices. Are headshops considered brokers or are brokers strictly a wholesale middleman between factory and headshops?

Just asking because I have wondered what the process is exactly. Does this mean that sunshinestore can provide pricing/service the other sellers on the gate cannot?

Hopefully all these questions won't counteract your medication. If so, please disregard!

Most seller's on dhgate are brokers.
Too go factory direct you need volume.

Right. We are pretty sure that Sunshine and Steven and yingmin5 all have their own factories (make their own glass) because they have made custom stuff for us. I don't know anyone else we are sure of. I think we had a custom glass thread that may have others listed. (Here it is http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/custom-glass-ideas-designs-thread.16550/)

A lot of LHSs get their glass from China and then mark them up 2, 3, or 4 times and then sell them retail. That is fair for those who are willing to pay those prices and don't want to be bothered waiting or hassling with China. Those stores also become QC, meaning they are responsible that the piece works and has no big flaws.

That helps, just trying to understand. It was very interesting in the headshops I popped in, like seeing behind the curtain. Without FC I wouldn't know dhgate, and I definitely saw lots of glass I recognised. Quite a mark-up, I was shocked in a few cases. Shouldn't be, I know. It's the way it works, the interwebs just make it easier to know about the retailer pays.

One place even had some of the counterfeit stuff. I always thought it would be ebay/flea market stalls wanting a fake label, but nope this was a proper little hs. Don't people stop to think why is JoeLocal SmokeShack got such "good deals"? Are they high?! :D

I tend to go for cheaper sci-type glass anyhoo, that doesn't make me cry when it breaks. And there are still a few American blowers & collectives that produce thick, solid work that isn't crazy money. Thankfully, many authorised online stores are shipping worldwide (mostly) for free if you spend x$ with them. I do that when I can, so I don't feel too guilty when I pick something up at the gate. :mental: Nuts, huh? But I don't feel bad not spending $900 on something to cool my vapor. That could be my herb bill for quite a few months!

We all know @ataxian is the master of glass and he can buy & break in bulk! BTW, has the massive ash catcher arrived yet? But what about the rest of you fuckers(of combustion)? When it comes to cheap, high-quality glass, do you mainly go straight to the gate or do you hunt deals with other trusted online blowers & sellers? If you're not in the US, do you know someone local or do you wait for a slow boat from China?

All of the above. I just like glass that's functional, easy to clean, and not so expensive I'm afraid to use it. As long as it ticks those boxes, I don't care where it comes from.

Yeah, I'm pretty cheap about my glass. I have only bought one piece direct from a US blower (who is not well liked here) and it is the first piece in my sig glass line. Even that was reasonably priced. The 12" straight pipe is likely US made I bought many years ago at a LHS, such as they are around here. You can tell how old it is by the rubber grommet. And I DO buy accessories from OGB.

Everything else I have is China glass, and I just couldn't pay US blower prices for it. I'm not saying that US blower prices are unreasonable, I just can't afford them for something so fragile. I can be a little clumsy, tho I'm getting better. I haven't broken anything in a while...:) (I probably shouldn't have said that out loud)

I like that that AC and the j-hook allow that unit to stand easily on its own. Most of my AC combos I have to prop up in some way to make them stand. Can't tell if it is the photo angle, but that AC looks 18mm. All mine are 14mm and lend themselves naturally to the Lotus WPA.

The fake glass labels really bother me and no LHS should sell them. If they do, they need to say upfront before anyone plunks down their cash, "Hey, just so you know this is a knockoff and not made by Mothership" or whoever. Any store that didn't do that is stealing and I would never go back and would likely warn my friends.

@cybrguy yeah man, that's how I feel. Once I started noticing the labels and then the shop in general, my feet carried me out the door! Its one thing to have high prices for legit brands, but to be running "sales" on glass that cost him $20? The guy was gross, I didn't get the feeling he was the upfront type.

Personally, I want my glass as thick and cheap as possible. I'm not trying to impress with a sticker on my bong lol. And there are quality pieces to be had for not much more than dhgate when you get lucky or someone's rent is due.

Yeah, I like thick glass too, and other than my old 12" straight pipe, my thickest by far are the 2 "FC" pieces from Stevenlmz79 (UFO and 187). I noticed from the link that he does sometimes put a fake label on (Mobius in this case) but all you need do is ask for a clean piece. That is one of the advantages to buying from the maker.

DO ANY FC LOVERS OF CHEAP GLASS HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH GOGOPIPES.COM?

I happened upon this site www.gogopipes.com having a sale, is anyone familiar with them? The glass appears to be Chinese but at these prices, WOW it's equal or less than dhgate/popularglass. CHEAP ash catchers, bubblers, WPs; like @ataxian (and me) levels of cheap. If this was a regular ol' HS sale, I wouldn't be sharing this here. If you're running low on melted sand, it's worth checking out.

Quite a lot to window-shop and lust over. :drool:

I have worked for sunshine store doing marketing some years ago

At that time he did not own a factory or run one, he just had really good contacts + they are operating in the same industrial area, so when I asked him about custom pieces he would go to glassblowers he knew and ask them to make it

But this might have changed but think 98% of Dhgate sellers are brokers

Does anybody know a cheap chinese downstem/reclaim catcher fitting to the FC-UFO/FC-187v2 w/o using an additional adapter for increasing the setup?
Most downstems don't fit cause of the wide diameters of bubblers with a centered joint.

I have a couple of questions.....

1 - I'd like to make one of those little bubblers that uses a small Mason jar with two holes on top for the input and output. If anyone here has directions for doing this, will you list those here or point me in the right direction?

2 - Where's a good place to get rubber stoppers for bubblers? Should my local hardware store have them?
