since i've hash & little else im working with the M a bit more.. oh my gosh its so much cleaner with the M vs in my UD stems. major factor haha. my can of butane i bought a year or so ago is finally out so i've just tried it with a candle and though it does take longer i feel like it's given me a more consistent result than my torches have. more trial needed of course but! i'm pleased the candle method works just as well with the M as i remember it with the og.

How do you work it with hash? Just break off a bit and shove it in there? What's the quality of the hit like compared to herb?

Well, both my M and Ti woody XL-S tips are not staying into their bodies. Only 2 months of use and now they seem to fall out more than stay in. Sent an email to DynaVap, hopefully they will have a solution. I am by no means rough or careless with any of my vapes/glass/etc so this is kind of surprising to me. I probably clean them like every two days, always "lubed" the orings and keep the wood body with a pristine shine.

Maybe they just got a bad batch of o-rings??

Without having a deep knowledge about wood I can only imagine (not even speculate) one thing.
Wood gets affected by relative humidity from the ambient environment.
It absorbs or expels water content as vapor.
As a direct consequence of this ,the volume of wood is rather a dynamic figure and not so static.

Frequently lubricating the o-rings and waxing the wood stem/body of a VC may lead
the wood becoming hydrophobic or act as a hydrophobic porous material.
Wood pores and fibers get "overloaded" with fatty and oily substances and with a bit
of help from a hot & dry climate the water content of the wood gets "kicked out" .
And can't easily return back .
In your case most probably -based on the whole concept -
the wood got dried up and shrinked .
That would explain the tips falling off.
There's no way that the Viton o-rings managed to carve - by friction - the hardwood stem/body
in just two months period !
So it must be the wood itself that got shrinked / deformed in some way ,right ?

Still my knowledge about wood is very limited.
So,the actual reason behind the phenomenon
you're experiencing might be a totally another thing ,that I'm not aware of.
In that manner I can't really suggest you to spray the stem/body
with a bit of water and wait till the next day .

Cheers.

first, here's what im working with (since "hash" could be a lot of things):
DRVlnBu.jpg

its homemade so it has some extra critter fur seasoning in it but. anyway. its light and fluffy and it really is more blonde in the sun vs my shit lamp. totally unpressed, collected with the dry ice method.

im by far no expert, as i haven't had hash & my vapes at the same time until this last week lol. i've been just throwin some lightly fluffled balls into the bowl. i just read this thread now and this post is something i'll be trying next: click the link thru here this will probably be much more helpful haha.

as far as clouds go? definitely not the same as herb, less in my experience. but i think the hits are still rockin. i still get the same flavor of the hash as i do when it's in my UD stem. gonna try the flattening now in a second. so it's worthwhile in my opinion!

edit: tested 2 "hats" (pressed hash thingies. what do yer circles call em? lol) in the M. with the candle it was the 3rd or 4th hit that gave me good clouds. took it probably? 10? who knows? times, and the result was hard, dark little hash hats. and i'm feeling pretty alright now so safe to say its a good method :peace:

Your o-rings are likely flattened out or worn and need to be replaced. Even if you treat them well they will still degrade through use and abrade against the wood. I've found that the red silicone o-rings that I bought last far longer. They seem to resist flattening out and don't abrade as quickly.

As someone who assembles and disassembles stems multiple times to test fitment. The black o-rings don't last as long as you'd think or hope.

Hello guys,

First time posting! I recently ordered my M model and couldn't be any more excited.

I have a quick question:
The M tip bowl size can't be adjusted like the ti tip. Is it really a useful feature? If i pack 75-50% in the M bowl, does it affect performance? Or the adjust-a-bowl makes it more efficient?

ps. I rather not use hemp fibers

I find that I have better performance when the chamber is not filled to capacity. I prefer my unground nug to float around so I don't adjust my screen to match my load. The ABV just slips out when I'm dumping it with no need for assistance from the digger outter. Also, when I do need larger loads I don't need to adjust the screen position.

YMMV. I know some posters have been very pleased with their results from having their screen placed high to create a smaller bowl.

There's better deals than those, thing is you need to order enough for free shipping. Basically a life time supply. It made sense for me as a maker to buy this many because I like to ship out fresh O-rings with my stems.

@stardustsailor one more question please! So when you're done with your stem, do you then fit a condenser tube and ti tip/cap? Am I missing anything else? That's two questions. Thank you!

Yes i'm fitting condenser and ti tip,but only to test how they fit and not to send as a complete unit
(for $30 ? ) .

cheers.

Oh man, that's not what I meant at all! I was asking within the context of DIY as I have everything needed but the titanium. Not sure if I will anodize or not. Anyway, I would think anyone here understands $30 won't buy a ti tip, lol! Thanks for your answer, stardust, you are amazing. Keep experimenting and creating!

The silicone is better than viton but more expensive. It resists flattening out and seems to abrade slower.
Thanks for the speedy reply - on the two links you posted (both 25 pcs) the silicone are $ 0.01 cheaper per unit. Shipping is fairly reasonable at $3.75 so some are on the way. Appreciate the links - Amazon prime is around $16.50 for 50 pcs.
