There are a lot of vaporizers out there that have car adapters ( though the Vm isn't like most ) but I was thinking that it would be cool to have a car adapter for my VM Station; just a thought.

Also I just finished up my emails with Rene @vapman and I'm happy to say that I'll be receiving my second VM and my first basic in Yew. I'm quite excited about it and now I can worry less about the other one that my roomates use.
Vapman is great in hurricane season!

I while ago, a client sent us this picture, showing the station used with a voltage converter in his car.

While sitting in his garage enjoying the VM no doubt (never driving......). Then again holding the VM in one hand and the camera in the other makes driving much harder. More so if you disqualify holding the VM in your teeth and use of knees. Not a challenge, mind, just some advice to heed 'one thing at a time'?

Oh, yeah, and listening to the radio. That's OK no matter what else is going on in the car......in fact it can be a great benefit with some passengers.....

Regards to all.

After using iso and a cotton ball to clean out my Vapman I used a dab of toothpaste in the bowl with 2 Qtips that were slightly damp and wow! My bowl almost looks good as new! I will most certainly use this method again; though it's a pain trying not to get the mica wet and while I was using the cotton ball I got a bit of the mica wet and a had small little "glitter" came off when I tried to dry it. It's superficial but it makes me a bit more excited for my basic to come in and I won't have to worry about the non existent mica.

Thanx for that tip! I will give that a try too, as my bowl is a little discolored as well.

In my early vapman days I also tryed this cleaning-methode; and had the same trouble with the mica. ;)
Furthermore it came to my notice that the gold layer get's slighty thinner with the toothpaste. :\
Maybe I used to much force, due to my gross motorik skills.

Then I have read here in this thread, that other VM-user take a little bit of a "magic cleaning sponge melamine foam eraser stain dirt remover pad" :D and rub out the pan with it once in a while.
(I found it also in the supermarket round the corner.)

This will do the job very well without a solvent and the vapman stay dry. Thereby the pan stays nice golden and shiny even after years of use.

(the yew after 6 month. it's my workhorse ;) )

I own the Vapman for about 1.5 weeks know, and still experimenting with it. But my first impressions are very good. If I use the same strain in the Vaponic and the Vapman, the effects are totally different! The Vapman gives a "stable", peaceful stony effect, and the Vaponic a more energetic and clear headed high. I only tried one strain yet, but can't wait to experiment with another strains. At the moment the Vapman is my favourite bedtime vaporizer.

In terms of taste, the first two puffs taste great. After that I barely taste the lovely terpenes anymore. Guess that's got something to do with my lighter technique. Another factor that might influence the taste is that I own the basic version; the wood is still scorching a bit.

I'm really impressed by the Vapman and can't wait to master it :)

Excellent point, the Gold is inert but extremely thin. And soft. Very easy to damage scraping (and grinding on it with a mild abrasive like toothpaste or metal polishes will do the job just fine......). The 'Magic Eraser' doesn't 'cut' the Gold (no color comes off, a very sensitive test actually). The stuff is pretty amazing other places, like the scum on the shower?

You can get it around here under the "Magic Eraser" brand from 'Mr. Clean':

First off, Howdy, welcome to the Forum and all the fun with VM. You're in good company for sure. Great choice with VM, as you're discovering.

Yes, the little fellow is special indeed. Very versitle, able to work in many 'modes' to suit the owner and occasion. And, of course, the concentrate screens extend that in a different direction.

I'm not at all sure about the master part. A couple of times I thought I had it all figured out only to be educated by a that couple ounce work of art....... A great companion at times, with a personality of sorts.

Sorry to ramble, please continue to enjoy VM.......many of us are with you in spirit.

Regards to all.

is this thing on?
Hello,

I have two Vapman torches and I really like them. I don't own other brands. Both torches are sometimes staying lit after releasing the Ignition or button. They stay lit for up to 4 seconds and I can't say I like that. It seems more likely to happen when I use them to heat the Vapcap, which can take a while. So it probably has to do with constant heat exposure... are they defect? Anyone knows a bit more about it, if this is specific for that special type of lighter? Hope it's the right forum. As it is the Vapman torch, it should fit in here. The second torch I had as a spare lying around and had that problem (if it is one) right from the start.

Thanks a lot!

@passenger I have found with the vm torch if my gas is turned too high i get the flame staying after i let go. Never had anywhere near 4 seconds. I would suggest turning the gas down a bit and see if that helps any. When lighting the vapcap i have a tendency to drop the lighter after the click which would be a huge issue if it was still lit!!

Good luck man, maybe someone with real knowledge can chime in..

Not to worry, it happens sometimes depending on what you're doing with them (and similar units). As you 'push them' they get liquid Butane in places that normally have gas. when you close the valve (let off the button) this trapped liquid has to evaporate to gas so it can escape. This takes much longer than gas alone since there's more grams of Butane involved.

Normally, for quick use at lower flame settings this doesn't happen 'as much' since it's gas not liquid that has to 'bleed off'.

From a Troubleshooting POV since you have two (unrealated) units that show this the chances that both units are defective in the same way are so slim you can safely dismiss that (at least for now). IMO you're fine.

There is noting wrong with the design of the Torch VM sells. It does the job well for sure. It's just being asked to work near the limits of it's design (building up heat and so on). A different design, one that is intended to be lint longer and hotter, has this problem 'later on'. That is you can push them harder before this happens. I recommend you get at least one of these to try:

http://www.dx.com/p/jet-1300-c-butane-lighter-1320#.WbaO1hK8oWw

Same unit, two different sellers. $3 shipped, although sometimes that takes a while. I recommend buying one (or more?) from each seller? Notice they are a big bigger but specifically designed as a torch (they have a base and 'flame lock'). They are designed to provide bigger flames for longer times. And they are tough as can be. And hold a lot of fuel.

I like the VM torch, and carry one in my 'travel kit':

But for everyday use I go with the $3 ones. I have several spread around the house (including one on the kitchen table to light candles and one on the patio on the table by the BBQ for similar use). I've used them for years, have worn most of the paint of the one at the desk and have yet to kill one or have one die for other reasons.

@OF

just some quick positive feedback

got three of the lighters you recommend above
delivered to UK from tinydeal.com link
ordered couple of weeks ago - from one of your earlier posts
(..thanks for that)

slightly flattened shape fits your hand
you can lock the pushbutton as well as lock the flame
adjust flame with screwdriver at bottom

also the positioning of the button opposite a flat bit on the top means you can (if need be)
light it just holding it between thumb and forefinger

good value for 2.50 (pounds)

@passenger

my vapman lighter does it too - tho only really at max flame size

Super. Good to know they work as well in the other hemisphere. The UK no less? No offense but I started losing faith in 'the Old Country' when you caved on Pounds, Shillings and Pence. And dumped perfectly good distance measurements and shifted to metric so it wouldn't confuse the neighbors.......

Enough poking fun at the guys with the steering wheels on the wrong side. I'm sure those closer in are happy to hear your report. Thanks.

I had sworn off using pocket torches after having nothing but bad luck with them no matter how much they cost then I received one of these torches with my Daisy and was amazed at how well they work, a few months after that I bought a vapman and vapman torch.

I used the torch that came with the daisy pretty much daily up until a couple weeks ago when I noticed the fuel was slowly disappearing between uses, although it still worked I trashed it. Three years daily use from a 3 dollar torch ain't bad.

The vapman torch got used a couple times a week for around three years and is now my daily powering my vapman and vaponic.

I like both of these torches a lot and hope to always have one or the other on hand.

That leads to another benefit of the vapman bowl shape, torch friendly - the torch flame gets split up and not much heat is reflected back to the torch, it stays cooler...
In comparison vaponic or vc's can be rough on torches - avoid getting to close, max the outer light blue flame touching, or reflection will heat the torch unnecessary
also don't point downwards with the flame
btw my recommondation for the vaponic is a triple in line torch for perfect even heating

After several years with my original classic Vapman, I was trying to clean the bowl with a soak in acetone. Unfortunately , I forgot about it for several hours...:bang: It might be ok with some TLC but it seemed like a good time to order a new Walnut classic kit. I can't wait for the new arrival. If the old unit is safe to use, I'll now use it for concentrates.

Was thinking a lot lately about getting a new battery powered vaporizer. Decided to go with the davinci IQ. All the research I did made me jealous of people who can just go to a legit store with a legit material and try it.

It also made me feel so lucky that I took my first shot with my precious vapman. Vapors are no too familiar where I'm from, and only nowadays you start hearing people talking about it. Still most people never tried it.
I never vaped before the vapman. Had no idea what to expect from it and what it suppose to taste/feel like. It took 3 weeks and a lot of reading here in this awesome community, to just fall in love with it.

3 years after, all my friends bought one too. And many others really liked it.

I have a baby coming soon, and I need a quiet option to vape at home (hopefully he will let me have some breaks).
But it's always good to know that I'll have my vapman by my side.

Now I only need to wait for a friend to get to the IQ from the states so I'll be able to get it for a reasonable price...

Sharing a cool clip of my favorite home band. You'll probably won't understand a word. OK maybe just one...

Hey, the HS is silent. If you can resist muttering (or shouting for that matter) "Oh, WOW!" after the best hits it's a completely silent process........

Teasing a bit, of course. But congratulations on the new baby and the 3 YO VapMan. And the friends you share the VM with.

Great post, thanks for sharing.

Acetone soaking is ok for the midpiece, but why the bottom? - a magic eraser cleans the bowl perfect (or cyanide to strip the gold )
Nonetheless the acetone should evaporate at room temp over time, to speed it up let vapman sweat in a oven at 60-70C for a while (but stay with him at the oven, the little fella gets scared alone outside of his shell  )
