Only in first bowl with medium ambet stem, but so far very very very good results with a freshly charged battery! Definitely needs some breaking in, but that is the fun part after all, no? :brow:

Well there you have it, obviously photos cannot really do this thing justice, but I will do my damnedest to do it plenty of justice in person ;):freak::ko:

Glad she made it home safe my friend. Too bad we can't have a photoshoot. Still hard to pick mine up and not think "goddam this thing is just so beautiful". I'm sure your experiences will follow a similar path.

One of my favorite vapes to use is also my favorite to hold and look at. Love mi Milaana

Yeh man! Excellent to see and read you got your new baby. Very happy for ya. These new exotics really kick butt...enjoy it. Btw, do you have yours tuned a little hotter/colder?

@AJS I agree. You have a beauty too - and it's always a pleasure seeing it! I LOVE mine. Ryan deserves to have these sold big time... still a well-hidden secret somehow.

Enjoy your millies!

I'm about to buy the Milaana, but I'm from Brazil and don't want to risk having to send it for repair to the US. How reliable is this vaporizer?

Thanks.

Thanks buds
Wish we could all get together to cheers our rare Milaanas together

I honestly have no idea on the exact tuning, certainly not hotter, I may have requested a standard medium saying how I flavor chase low temp clouds bu enjoy the long battery life I get on my early V1. This one is definitely cooler than that as battery life isn't quite as good (need to test more scientifically some day though), however it is world's more refined in every way. Another thing to keep in mind though, unlike most of these other soft woods, the purpleheart hardwood is quite dense and actually seems to conduct more than a little heat so that could hurt power efficiency? Unsure, but it is nice and warm to hold, looking forward to winter as always :D So true about gazing at it in use @AJS, best way to appreciate colors and grains in different light, the true Mi experience

In any case it seems to be more than capable of getting the thorough level of extraction I prefer with minimal effort. Super smooth and easy to control, the turbulator must be an amazing innovation, or who knows what other upgrades all together from what I was using. Fit and finish is next level and truly does deserve the more mainstream appeal you describe, hopefully some day the masses will catch on...

Cloudy...
I'm really intrigued by the turbulator. Usually when I'm doing low-temp hits (most of the time) I only need 2 stirring to fully extract to my taste (I like a dark coffee color in my ABV).

Never been an issue for me, I love my spalted girl but I always have the doubt that if with the turbulator it will be just one stirring (lazy ass ) something that will also help when out and about. Is this VAS?

Wich other RBT vapes come with one? Zion? Splinter?

I second @Shit Snacks' remarks about the finishing on the new Mis.

I got this bloodwood guy the other day and the Mis are looking and feeling damn good.

Oh man that is beautiful too man, can't believe I'm still so entranced by the bloodwood even with my purpleheart, some day I hope to have something in bloodwood too... Did you go black glass or blue? Enjoy it brother

@b0 all new units being made have it, so all the Zions going out and when Splinters are made they will too. No idea what it is exactly, but it does seem to work pretty damn well!

I haven't tried the new screens yet, I think I'll likely still prefer my baskets inside with glass rim, but looking forward to testing. They should help me use more stems, I did have RBT-made custom basket screens from a while ago that are shallower and quite a bit more crude, but I use them with my Tubo bent stem. I do like em better than those metal rimmed screens at least

I'm not sure I get the new screens. If the rimmed ones are verboten because they extend the length of the joint, don't these as well? When I see them pictured they sure seem to...

And if anything I would think their rough edging would be more likely to damage the heater screen than the smooth metal rims. Dunno, beats me.

OMFG. What a stunner! These rares are looking super deluxe-y. Oh yeah, the finishing is top notch. Also like the slimmer feel to it, it's less blocky and great in the hand. And, yeh, that button is so classy and satisfying to press. I hope there will be masses to follow the call of Milaana. It's more than just some thing to me.. it's a wonderful experience every time. And I don't den need to use mine to get these feelings... the look, feel, smell . Just wonderful

@cybrguy I THINK he cuts the joints down a bit so that these ones are compatible .. also I think they're not final yet, so this could be like a beta testing.. not sure tho

It was a test run of the screens. The next run will have a thinner rim as the rim hangs past the glass of the stem a tiny bit which can get caught on the heater glass when removing the stem.

With the new screens I'm getting very even extraction with no stirring or hot spots. Since this is my first foray into the turbulator, it's not yet clear whether the even roasting is due to the screen, the turbulator or a combination.

Had you ordered your blood wood or did you pick it up from a retailer?

Im a "NEWBY" to the whole Milaana experience and am really luv'n it. I got a top hat screen with mine also along with some of the traditional screens. Im not seeing any problem, as of yet, with sealing or issues with conflict of the heater screens. I didn't EVEN know about the turbulator??? I guess I benefit from all the testing and tweaks Ryan, along with all you guys feedback to make a better product. This is the way it is supposed to be. Starting with an idea and improving it along the way! Glad to be a member of the "M" crowd! Bring on the Splinter!!! I want to be a member of a "splinter" group as well as the M crowd!

How do those Purpleheart Milaana's work? Do I just have to get lucky as to when they put them on the site? Or is it something else? I'm kinda interested in one of those.

Pretty sure there won't be more of them, this was only the second ever made (not sure who got the first, a non FC early supporter). There were a few more of the canarywood and bloodwood units, but those were one offs made from small wood supply as well. The only units ever available for sale have been maple, spalted maple, cherry and walnut, plus Aspen and Butternut sometimes too... There may be more rare wood Milaanas like these in the future in new woods too, but there is no way to know anything about that. After maple Zion comes walnut/cherry/maple Splinters, there are a lot of walnut/cherry/maple/spalted Milaana bodies prepared so I'd presume it to be a good long while before you might be able to get a rarer wood Mi than these. However you can always contact RBT and see if you can work something out for a custom order? Can get pricey though

Thanks for the information. I guess if I end up getting one I'll just get walnut since I like the darker hues. Spalted would have been cool but I'm not about to get in a bidding war for one.

In truth, all the wood species RBT has used are attractive. Even my Maple Mi has quite beautiful grain. Admittedly RBT showed it some love when I sent it in for new glass and the better finish brings out the grain a bit, but it is quite lovely. Maybe not Bloodwood or Purpleheart pretty, but attractive in its own way.

I was wondering if there are other methods to give the woods different appearances such as, oils or topical things one can apply.

Someone took a torch to one that really brought out the grain. Others have stained them or colored them in other ways. You just don't want to use anything that might leave a smell or be toxic in any way, but otherwise the sky's the limit...

I really like the staining on the Firewood 4 I believe it's called ebonized Wax Buff. Is that achievable with the Mi?

Can't wait to get my Milaana. I plan on staining the maple body once I get it. I have some very bold colored tung oil/stains: yellow, pink, green. After staining I will hit the wood with fine steel wool or probably very fine finishing grit sandpaper to make it soft as a baby's butt. This is similar to how I would oil up my maple guitar necks back in the day. Millions of coats of tung oil, then fine steel wool. That treatment might be overkill for the Milaana.

Anybody have a stained Milaana yet?
Did you ever make this happen?
