FJ did mention that he's yet to see one being completely unrecoverable..
He also let slip that a new firmware update is on the horizon, but I didn't get any specifics.. :sherlock: .

While I'm here - thanks to all the contributors on this and a few other pages.. I'm fairly new here, but you've helped me learn fast :D

I should have stayed away.
Too many recommendations in all those "which one" threads to not take notice.
Now this Oxide Black on Black unit I've dubbed K-2SO will be heading in my general direction.

Anyone with the Milanna or MVT? I'm wondering if it's worth getting this unit if I already have the MistVapeTouch. I also have the EVO which I have read this small little guy is comparable to. I have some spare change to spend and am thinking about getting this.

Many of us, just read through and you'll see, but short answer is yes you should get it if all you have is MVT especially, this being 18mm and full temp control regulation with session ability to boot. Might put your Evo to shame frankly :p

I have the Tubo, MVT and Milaana. For me the Tubo is by far my favourite; matches my usage style perfectly. I do not use the Milaana very often but I still enjoy it. MVT gets frequent use, very efficient and good on battery too so it fills a role in my arsenal nicely.

In my opinion the Tubo and MVT compliment each other very well.. MVT excels at satisfying sessions with microdoses and has the battery life to get you through some time away from home; and Tubo is simply the most amazing/satisfying portable I have, typically used with medium to larger amounts. Tubo can still microdose too, it's just quite powerful so it'll churn through smaller volumes with ease. If you get a 18mm-14mm reducer you can use the MVT stems in the Tubo as well which creates more options for you.

I see no reason not to get a Tubo just because you have an MVT! It's a great vape but for me MVT and Tubo fill different roles. So even if they weren't both beautiful, hand crafted, one of a kind, functional works of art; I'd still keep both devices. And of course I recommend getting a Tubo for yourself :D.

@Prolusio in your video, you seemed to prefer it stood one particular way between pulls. Just you, or is that a thing?

If you stand the Tubo any other way the coils start to compress and it'll eventually explode, so always be careful to flip it upside down between draws at all times ... Nah, I'm just kidding :D:lol:

Really I mostly just did that for the video, just in case anyone wanted to pause and see my settings. I have my display flipped so I can read it easier while using on my piece; so the display would have been upside down if I stood the Tubo upright.

I do stand it like that sometimes between draws but I don't usually pay that much attention to it.. It's quite stable that way though, and sometimes it's fun to watch the display change and say Hi to the little robot face. :borg:

More often that not I rest mine on its heater side, even in cruise mode, like my standby right after a hit (through water, small MP or post cashing bent stem), while I typically leave it on Evic side when not in use during day etc. In use with dry bent stem as I use it the most it is upright

Absolutely... I keep going to look at the mess that is the Ghost MV1 thread, and hear all the "this could be the vape we've been waiting for" and how it "might just" be that on demand full convection device etc etc and think wtf I already have one that does this.

I do think there was quite a bit of interest stirred up for the Tubo in that particular thread a day or two ago, a few people mentioned they would pop over and check it out.

Has been my dd for a few days now after packing away my desktop and have to say I haven't missed my log at all (and I do love my nano, it's been my dd for years)...
I'd have bought a second by now if I wasn't waiting (patiently... coughs) for the vtc dual ver...

today is the day!
i successfully tracked down the freeze issue :goon::horse::rockon:

firmware time!
  • no more screen freeze when entering cruise mode, no more cruise bar disappearing
  • new option for clicks: warm up mode (beta)
  • opened the timer up to 900s :mental: (15min cruise session anyone?)
  • dynamic breaking on power according to real time battery voltage instead of percentage

tubo.lamart.ch/fw/170910-tubomyevic-nofreeze-warmup-900s-beta.bin

warm up mode (beta):
the new mode tries to do a quick initial warm up so that the tubo heater is hot and ready for action. especially in on demand mode this can "prevent" the natural temp stepping of the system while it heats up.
the heater is brought to 245degC and kept there until wattage drops below a certain value (20.5watts).
the new option can be assigned like cruise to "menu>interface>clicks". default for new tubos is now 2 clicks for Cruise, 3 clicks for WarmUp and 4 clicks for Edit.

900s protection timer:
yes, 15 minute cruises. can be a bit long for little tubo evic, but with the ac adapter or a multi cell version this is certainly fun :)

btw how are the eco levels holding up?

Woah, that gif is playing havoc with my eyes :o

Just pulling your leg FJ man, you take your time and get that dual ver just right... then you can take my money.

I've been running eco 2 and definitely saw an improvement in battery life, although haven't directly compared I prob got one extra load/battery comfortably. I do pack a reasonably full load and run high heats and would say average 4 loads/battery stopping about 20% charge this way (for 30Q or HG2 batts).

I kind of manually preheat the coils for a few seconds before the first draw in demand mode anyway, so preheat sounds a logical step to me...

Extra cruise is cool. I never lowered mine and would rather have a longer session I can stop when ready, than have it turn off on me mid session

I haven't installed the last update before this.

Will downloading this new fix bring all my firmware up to date?

Or do I need to do the last update and then this update separately?

To respond to the discussion....

I have a MVT and Milaana and a Tubo. I use the Tubo about 80% of the time with the MVT and Solo 2 getting the majority of the remaining 20%.

The Tubo hits as hard as the Milaana without the combustion fears or the scorching of my herbs.

good question.
yes, the latest firmware will always contain successful features of the previous ones.

i also think it doesnt get more complicated with more features, opposed as it may sound here. these things are mostly inside the menu to be setup once and then be used with double, triple or quadriple(?) fire clicks. if one does not bother they dont stand in the way of the original out of the box use.

@funkyjunky, once again you've come through for us. I love the updatable nature of this beautiful beast.

Drinking my first cup of coffee, read that the wildfire which was about to take my cabin has now been slowed to the point it's no longer likely to be a problem (by 200 great fire fighters and a lucky weather change). The next thing I read was your post. What more could any person hope for in one day?

I'm in the middle of unpacking from a move into a new-to-us home, so I'll be searching for that box with the USB cables today! :)
