Noticed Mendo Mulcher is doing some anodizing now. Is that new, or am I just out of the loop?
We have them in-stock:

I like a fine grind but I also prefer to handle my materials as LITTLE as possible.

This means 3/4 piece is the only way to go. I used to use a tray, I used to use a cereal bowl to dump into, etc. But in the end it all resulted in precious pollen being wasted... No matter whether you prefer to sift pollen to save, or keep it with your materials, it is a loosing situation when dumping ground materials onto any additional surface.

Material goes straight from the grinder into a vape, or if requiring travel (or long term storage) into a Jyarz. With all my vapes, I don't even physically touch my material at all after it gets put into the lid of the grinder. I grind to open up all that goodness, and I don't want pollen loss in any way.

After using no-name/gods-know-what-sort-of-metal 2-piece grinders for 20 yrs and another 13 before that tearing my herb apart like a savage, this summer I determined that in order to fuck combustion properly I deserved proper kit. I got an amazing deal on the big GRT8R jar from Kannastor's website, I opted for the all metal as the acrylic seemed to be the weak link in reviews. I use the coarse plates since I have a Nano & Solo 2 and that's what they like. I also picked up a small titanium SC 2-piece for traveling beyond 2 days. IME, the key to keeping any grinder happy is periodic cleaning. Especially if you're blessed with very sticky goodies.

After noting in this thread (and FC in general) what many folks I have come to respect do in regards to their ground material I'm now considering what I do after I grind. Typically, I dump from grinder to a storage puck or a boro petri dish/lid. I usually grind enough for a day or so, I don't weigh just eyeball. Then I pinch and load as I go. I've used the screen since getting it but now I want to remove it; it's not enough saved to get fussed about, especially at the expense of the now. All this talk of lost pollen from @FlyingLow and others has got me tripping! With the screen out, I'll have a big day-to-day storage container with a removable bottom to get to everything easier when needed. I'll try using a scoop I have but for the small amounts I typically load in the Nano it's easier to pinch for me. But the idea that I lose a bit of pollen at every stage is now a new neurosis for me, thank you so much dear fuckers! I like my pollen!

I love learning so much at FC, I had settled in a rut combusting but vaping has opened up a new world of ideas and possibilities. I guess being in the UK without a cannabis community so to speak, I was completely unaware of so much about cannabis and vaporization in unlocking its potential. I also felt alone as a medical user; my doctors know and agree but beyond that I'm on my own. Kinda wonderful to change and grow and continue to learn as one gets older, and to be welcomed into this unique community has drastically improved my daily outlook & knowledge even if I might spend too much time here!

Don't be fooled by titanium grinder claims. Every smoke shop I visit I ask to see their titanium grinders every time its titanium color anodize over aluminum. the store owners will always defend their inventory. trust me it's smoking mirrors. I would estimate a 3" grinder made from grade 2 ti would retail for $200-$300

Man @KidFated. that is exactly how it feels! Thanks so much, it's truly humbling that so many have been so welcoming and generous. I'm quick to welcome a newbie so that they might have that feeling. I only wish I hadn't lurked so long! Thanks man.

Yessir @NewVape710 you are correct. I nearly said something to that effect in my post, the only reason I said "titanium" was to identify the line of SC. I really feel like the word is thrown around and slapped on a lot of things to sound cool, elite or robust. Many times they're only referring to color or surface texture, not to mention most "gr 2 titanium" items coming out of China. Unless I trust the company and their QC, I assume it is questionable. You're also quite right about price point as well, I'm glad that you put this out there. It's the best lie detector. Explaining it from a manufacturer's viewpoint really points out how it can't be true.

I am soooo with you on Titanium claims, I see this and just scream "BULLSHIT!"
Like you said, if it does not come with a $200+ price tag, the claim of Ti is just bullshit.

Regarding scoops, IMO Lotus Vaporizers has the perfect scoop for any size grinder, and is perfect for all vapes I have (Nano, Lotus, MV, etc. They are only about $5 and I suggest everyone give one a try. I have used nothing else for 3+ years.

I've been saying this for years. Glad to see another company in the game who isn't afraid of speaking the truth in the face of the popular opinion.

@FlyingLow I can't tell you how often I'll read something you've written and be like, "Get out of my HEAD!" lol. Sometimes it is something really old in a thread I've been mining and I don't know whether it's cool or not to "like" a 2 yro post? Or would it just be creepy and cyberstalking, lol? But you get it, my dear sir; and I appreciate your insights and observations on all of it. I don't have to say what it is because you get it.

Another thing that happens: Sometimes your posts are voiced by the actor in your avatar. In my head. I don't remember his name but the actor was beyond funny in quite a few things. I can remember his voice and face so well; he made me howl, especially when he was outraged. I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this avatar-transference phenomenon or if it is simply my delightful imagination. But when I picture you screaming "BULLSHIT!" it's that dude.

I'm sure it is just another result of past life choices! :freak: Sorry for the de-rail everyone!

This.
I have a Kannastor as well and I wasn't too happy about how it performed until I started to clean it more often. I just dump it in my ethanol jar for five minutes and rinse it with tap water. Never sticking again.

Mendo Mulcher are now anodizing? Wow! Time to get my GrAS on again! The only reason I abstained from the Mendo is that black stuff that came off the non-anodized finish (raw). Thinking the 3" 4 piece...

Hello, should I get a 3 pieces or a 4 pieces Santa Cruz grinder?

It's only for vaping in a Migthy. I wonder why save the kief with a 4 pieces if I want to vape/use it every time I grind. I don't want to do a session of only kief.

Is it because the kief sticks in the bottom with a 3 pieces, and you don't get as much kief as you'd get with a 4 pieces? Is it better to isolate it with a 4 pieces, and add it manually in the vaporizer?

Thank you!

Some people like to collect kief and that works best with 4 piece grinders. Some like the kief mixed in with the herb and that works best with 2 or 3 pieces. I like having a small area where the ground herb stays until use even though I generally use what I grind within a day or 2. So I use a 3 piece and remove the extra piece if I buy a 4 piece turning it into a 3 piece.
Some people like to grind and use and don't want the separate area to collect the herb and kief and they often prefer 2 piece grinders.
Unless you plan on collecting kief you might do better getting a 3 piece.

That's bad ass. I want it. Would probably work great with my weak hands.
In my great disorganization I misplaced my grinders and got my lift out of my donation box. Now I can't remember why I didn't like it. I have problems with my wrists since they were both broken at one time or another and the lift is totally effortless.

(I didn't double post- another thread must have been blended in.)

I'd go with a 3 piece grinder for sure when vaping. I personally like the kief to be mixed with the herb. So definitely 2 or 3 pieces.

Santa Cruz has some really nice 3 piece shredders. Loving especially the rasta.
