Chamomile is a calmant at low dose, and an excitant at higher dosage and tastes deliciuos in low temp vaping

I can confirm that.

A week -or so - ago, after eating a huge plate of pasta with lots of sweet basil ,I vaporised one bowl of chamomile (cause I already had a sore throat for some days ) .

After 10 minutes I'm tripping balls !
It lasted for about 2-3 hours ,but the whole experience seemed more intense than 200 ugrams of LSD .
Tried to search about what exactly happened to me .

Yeap, oilahuasca ...
I did not knew anything about it ,a week ago ...
By now ,I'm aware !
Firstly begin with eating lots of sweet basil and then vaporising a cap of chamomile ,
half an hour later.

Easy ,cheap and legal .
And above all : Just great !

Sweet basil oil is traditional here , and it is as cheap as 2.50 euro in pharmacies for the steam distilled stuff..
10ml = 100 drops ,which can get bout 10-15 people high ,of course it takes like 5 grams of camomile to activate it. If you mess with the oils make sure you use capsules cause those oils taste like ass ... :D
Btw if you want to achieve better oilhuasca effects try having the camomile 30-40 minutes before having the basil. Otherwise effects of those oils if uninhibited are sedative instead of psychedelic.
You can also try eating some cinnamon it also contains some enzymes who further activate the experience :).

Very interesting.

"Methyl chavicol is found in sweet basil oil. When properly activated this produces an electric LSD-like psychedelic effect. It’s a great mood enhancer, aphrodisiac, and also produces some visual effects. When not properly activated this produces a sedative effect that’s almost like marijuana, but not at all psychedelic. The P450 enzymes CYP1A2 and CYP2A6 cause the inactive 1-hydroxy-methyl chavicol to form. It’s possible that CYP2D6 is needed for psychedelic activity. While some of the oils are known to be inactivated by certain P450 enzymes, primarily by 1-hydroxylation, in many cases if the primarily P450 enzymes are inhibited, other P450 enzymes will take their place. This means that more than just the primary P450 enzymes should be inhibited. Methyl chavicol and myristicin seem to be much easier to activate than elemicin or safrole. Often myristicin is active on it’s own. Of the main oils, nutmeg oil is usually the most active on its own without taking other oilahuasca enzyme inhibitors. The reason for this is not entirely known however nutmeg oil does sometimes contain substantial amounts of its own P450 inhibitors. Also myristicin itself is often active without inhibitors. Basil oil is the least active on it’s own, often producing no psychedelic effects at all, but is also the easiest to activate. Sassafras oil sometimes works on it’s own in some people, but this is rare. Elemi oil sometimes works on it’s own. "

" German chamomile is a potent CYP1A2 inhibitor. However, all of the actives are actually in the essential oil. So there’s really no need to use the herb, unless of course you like making tea. If all you’re seeking are its CYP1A2 inhibition effects you can bypass the herb and use the essential oil instead.

A good CYP1A2 inhibiting dose for German chamomile flowers is about 5 grams. Since the essential oil makes up about 1% of this dose, an equivalent dose would be 50 mg, which is about 2-3 drops of essential oil. The essential oil is very potent. This dose easily fits into very small capsules with room to spare.

The essential oil is very expensive though.

I know someone who’s experimenting with elemicin. He places the elemicin in a capsule along with 4 drops of German chamomile essential oil. He’s had great psychedelic effects this way.

He’s going to soon try this with basil oil (the kind high in methyl chavicol) for the first time. I’ll update this thread after I hear how it goes."

I'm pretty sure how it went for me : Tripping balls for 2-3 hours .
I've discovered the way just by pure luck !
Nevertheless ,I replicated -with great success- the "situation" ..plenty of times by now ,
I've to say .

And I think it builds up tolerance pretty quick .
I have to make a pause ,I guess .

I had it the other way around ...
Still the effect was anything else except "sedative" ...

Cinnamon ?
As Cinnamonum Verum ( Ceylon ) or as Cinnamonum Cassia (China ) ?

:science: fascinating info! Have you replicated this now with essential oils exclusively? Basil oil + german chamomile oil? I feel like I'm going to need to do some aromatherapy shopping.. :leaf:

I think verum should be the right choice, but havent gone trough the data for a long time.

@invertedisdead It works for sure, 90% of the people get mild to strong effects from Basil. But there is some cross tolerance with other oils, and also there are some enzymes which are contained in certain foods that can rob you of the experience. There is even one double cap method. You put few drops of Chamomile oil in a large capsule and then put a smaller one with the basil oil inside, that way it gives some headspace for the chamomile to do its work. :)
Although basil works for almost everyone ,unlike other essentials.my personal favorite is the Elemi oil, there was a product back in the days called Elemi X5 which was the shit. It is not a very easy task to find real and quality steam distilled oil, beware of oil extracted with Xn.. you dont want to eat that shit..

I am preparing pesto sauce (with a lot of basilic) to store in freezer for winter (maybe for the last time this year)

I will try a bowl of camomille (the roman one) next time I will eat this pasta (before and after eating :) )

Thank you for the tip

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
Thanks for the info. @Abysmal Vapor and everybody.
I'm getting German Chamomile in whole flower 'organic' form and grind it in a simple mill grinder. Definitely smell and taste the oils. :p But any type of Chamomile can dirty or leave a strong taste in a vape. So plan accordingly.

I do get a certain lift from it and can enjoy a strong tea. Vaping the whole flowers definitely does a little somethin' somethin'. KIM I'm being fussy and trying to source the freshly dried.

So there is some science behind my justifying my tea budget?

I have a separate DIY bubbler from a porcelain kettle for my "other botanicals" ,and i almost never mix them, cause all of them taste good at different temp. :))
It is always justified to invest in good tea, there is much science behind all their ingredients tanins, sugars, vitamins, mineral, essential oils.. My favorite tea to vape is White Sage, it taste best of all i have tried, gives best buzz and is beneficial for your lungs, you breath like you''ve eaten a mouthfull of mint candies .. also relieves cold symptoms .
""Benefits: Remedy against a cold, reduce secretions in throat, lungs, and sinuses. Relaxant
Medical Benefits
Its medical applications are quite numerous. According to USDA, it can be used to treat eczema and skin eruptions. Also, there may be a link between it and the treatment of diabetes as it improves the handling of insulin levels in the body. It is also thought to be helpful for headaches, nosebleeds and sinus infections.

White sage has some positive effects in our bodies. In women, it reduces heavy menstruation when the leaves are made into a uterine hemostatic tea and drank. Breastfeeding women are advised to take the tea as it reduces lactation. The Native Americans used it to treat a cold by drinking tea made from smoked leaves in sweathouses. The tea relieves mucous secretions of the lungs, throat, and sinuses that accompany colds. According to United States Department of Agriculture, the tea can be used in the treatment of sore throats as it can be ingested and gargled. The Kiowas are believed to have used the plant in the treatment of respiratory problems and also to loose phlegm in the throat and lungs. The tea is drunk to soothe digestion problems.

Its roots were used by the Native American women to bolster internal bleeding and to expel afterbirth after they had given birth. This has made the United State Department of Agriculture consider the tea to be effective in reducing lactation when a baby is being weaned from breastfeeding.

The herb may be used in treating wounds in order to prevent inflammation and infection as they possess antiseptic properties. It may be used in the treatment of fungal infections and candida, and may be useful for lung infections and staph.

Effects
Several types of research have shown that this herb enhances mental function. One of the research showed that it lifts the moods of people, improves memory and reduces anxiety. Just like any other drug white sage should not be used in overdose as it may affect your body. The use of white sage is legal in all states so you do not have to worry about using it. It is also very advisable to use it as it has many advantages and it is a natural drug.""
I can confirm that it has wonderful effects on the respiratory system and eases some of pains caused by overvaping..

Nice to have the options of separate bubblers, glass, vapes etc. There is a thread that has occasionally picked up the subject of sourcing and the other plants worth vaping. Occasionally the topic of sourcing in the EU, AUS, US etc. Because it is a smaller market. I look even smaller than that and have found local plants that were dried for tea.
