Herb Grinders

Yeah, that works great but I try to keep Vaseline away from my stash. Any lube will work fine. IME a little spit, or drop of hemp oil will work just as well even if it may need to be applied more often.

Just to be clear... this only for the outer rim and any silicone/neoprene washer - NOT for inside the grinding area.

My issue with the SLX grinder is the kief screen appears to be *too* fine. Just clogged up, not collecting kief. I've cleaned it a few times, immediately gets clogged again. Maybe I'm just lucky enough to consistently have super sticky bud? In any case, the kief collector basically isn't collecting.

IMO, nothing wrong with that, You're getting it now instead of later. If you want more keif, you may want to dry your material a bit before grinding. Sometimes it is the moisture content that makes everything stick together and not go through the screen.

I believe it was @lazylathe that suggested adding the rubber arm bands to improve the grip of our fine grinder. I was surprised that to see that idea had not been done before. So here's a new version of our fine grinder. The grinder uses standard 8" x 1/2" rubber arm bands which makes customizing the your grinder easy and fun. Thanks for the suggestions to improve our products.

One update may be to have a ledge on each half of the grinder for the silicone bands to rest on so they do not slip down and hinder grinder performance, just a thought.

I think the bands are sitting in a groove, flush with the metal edges seemingly enclosing it.

Here's the item description:
3.0" Inch Dia Machined in Florida from 6061 Medical Grade Aluminium. Has 2 rare earth magnets. This grinder has been designed, and optimized to produce a very fine grind for vaporizers. Some considered this a finishing grinder. The more you pack into the bowl the finer it will grind. The grinder has been designed for 8" arm bands so customizing is easy and fun. The rubber grips also help with traction when grinding full loads. We have decided to keep this grinder natural so there's no annodize or engraving. To keep it running smooth It is suggested to use hot dish soap and a firm brissle brush for frequent cleannings. Adding to the dishwasher will discolor the grinder.

Personally I think the anodised finish and engraved logo were worth keeping :)
But cool innovation, I'm also surprised it's the first of its kind

"They wanted to keep it natural" I think the word was cheap.

Price didn't change but it comes faceless with a lovestrong bracelet!

@NewVape710 - this is really cool! Hope you're offering the cool New Vape bands in picture.

I'm not really in the market for a new grinder, but recent reports of this one have had me add it to my short list for next purchases. Not sure if it really makes any difference to you guys, but seeing this and how responsive your company was here has moved this purchase to top of my list (tho probably still not until next month). Kudos to you! That extra bit of customer service and responsiveness is something many of us here really appreciate. I sure do - even though I'll probably be purchasing the original fine grinder (SKU# 2726).

Nicely done!!

I found a decent silicone band from a portable amp, attached to the SLX it became a monster.

I knew when I got that band 5 years ago it would eventually come in handy haha, completely forgot about it. I am pretty sure I'll keep it on, extra grip and extra leverage make a noticeable difference. I need to resupply so yet to test it with what I was having issues with before, which was jamming. Now I don't think it'll be a problem.

I didn't notice that the raw new vape fine grinder was bigger, I think that extra torque would be nice

I LOVE that i have finally found a grinder that gives me the grind i have been looking for!
All my other grinders are in storage for the foreseeable future!

if you are into fine grinds this is the way to go!

I also used to store my herb with 62% Boveda packs but found it was way too moist to grind, so i have gone to jarring in small mason jars and it is working wonders for grinding with the NV!

Top Shelf, no lies!

i really prefer having some type of chamber that my grinded herbs fall into. So i can just scoop my meds out.

Are you guys just grinding and dumping it all onto your table?

Unfortunately no chamber involved but the quality of the grinder more than makes up for it. Personally i never used a chamber in my life with a scoop even when i had grinders with chambers, i don't keep my flowers in the grinder when done. I have a few dube tubes and a funnel and what i do is grind , dump into a piece of folded paper and funnel all my flowers into my tubes and dispense from there.

I grind enough for my session and dump it onto a flat glass slab.
At the end of the week I scrape all the kief stuck to the glass and get blasted into outer space!

I am a fan of 2 piece grinders, never really knew why until a few minutes ago...
For some reason i am not a big fan of kief either and so always went with 2 piece grinders.

I always read of folks loving their 4 piece grinders with interchangeable screens of varying mesh sizes etc... Grind, herb falls on screen and kief is collected in the lower section.
With a 2 piece the kief stays with the herb and i find more of it sticks to the herb bits, kind of like super-coating.

Tonight for some reason i thought i should keep the kief, it was a beautiful light tan color and there was a lot of it!
So i find my one grinder that actually has a screen and throw all the herb and loose kief onto the screen.
A few taps and it is all separated.

Then i go to hit the herb in the Flower Pot and discover that it is super flat and nowhere near as cloudy!!
WTF!! WTF indeed!!

So i throw some kief on top of the bowl and BLAM!!!! There is all the flavor that is missing!!!
Emptied all the kief back into the herb and mixed it well!
Now i am back to where it should be! Thick, dense and tasty vapor!

The 4 piece has been put in a dark corner to think about it's bad behavior...

I have never owned a 2 piece grinder. I'm a guy who likes to have some kief available for when I'm out of product. I even did the nickel in the grinder to get more kief, and boy did I ever get more kief! The problem with the nickel in the grinder is that it virtually knocks ALL the goodies off your bud. Never have done that again since that little escapade.

I have been looking at the NewVape fine grinder. I think I'm going to buy one of those as I cant seem to find anyone that does not like it. I recently purchased a SWII and so far I'm very happy with it. I think the NewVape fine grinder will be next. That will be my first 2-piece so looking forward to it.

Now to locate my vaporizer accessory money.... ;)

A thought about two-piece grinders in general:

I've used a smaller two-piece grinder and it was always a PIA to empty all of the flower out of it efficiently; there's always some that sticks to the teeth and I usually end up making a mess of things trying to pull out as much as possible.

What tricks or techniques are there for "clearing"such a grinder?

I've always owned a four-piece grinder but left the third piece (the screen sifter) removed so I essentially run with a three-piece grinder. This keeps the kief mixed in amongst the ground bud. Plus using a three-piece setup allows the ground bud to fall into the bottom chamber, meaning less clearing of the teeth to do.

I have a cheapo "Chromium Crusher" from Amazon that I'm wanting to replace with a quality unit and the NewVape grinder gets a lot of praise. I'm just not sure I can be happy with a two-piece setup, no matter the quality.

Help me understand.

I grind and dump into this sauce type dish, whatever is left in the grinder stays until the next round usually or a quick brush out. I usually grind enough for the day and put it in a jyarz. to each their own. do what works best for you.

edit:sometimes I will smack the outsides of the grinders together to knock loose debris in the grinder, I never make contact with the teeth or friction surfaces when doing this..

Best of all worlds IMO! 3 piece is the way to go, or just leave that kief screen out! Stays clean, has storage, no mess, and all the kief on your bud the way that nature intended!
