Alternative Meds?

Hi All, I just want to ask if anyone ever tried using medical cannabis as an alternative meds? I have read many articles about medical marijuana and how it can help you in terms of chronic pain, bone injuries, eating disorder/anorexia, anxiety disorders and panic attacks, inflammation, even cancer and a lot more. Like this article about a marijuana strain: from: . Cbd and thc are also new to me and I don't even smoke. If this is true I cant find any solid conclusive evidence that speaks to its efficacy. Any personal experience or testimonial would be highly appreciated. Thanks

I believe a lot of people here do, including myself. Since there is a lot of research out there, you might get a better result if you want to focus on certain problems. Other than some treatments of spastic conditions in MS, I'm not sure any cannabis treatment has made it through regulatory hurdles yet. If regulatory hurdles are required to be jumped to be "solid conclusive evidence", I'd start there. Sativex and MS spasticity. (Pain studies are big too. Cancer pain and other types are being researched and there are certain patterns there as well.)

Hello- to clarify.... any medical quality derived from cannabis use be it eaten, vaporized etc... will be realized in your endocannabinoid system ( ECS)...
the endocannabinoid system is a neuro-modulatory signalling system that regulates cellular homeostasis via intracellular transmissions of endogenonous cannabinoids that are formulated/derived from arachidonic acid that we get from consuming omega fatty acids...
cannabis plants have phyto-cannabinoids ( neuro-modulatory lipids) as their main therapeutically active ligands that trigger/toggle the cannabinoid receptors that make up the ecs... plant cannabinoids act as signalling agents @ the receptor sites and regulate metabolic response...
if cannabis produced zero=NO cannabinoids then cannabis would be like all the other plants on our world...it has them and it is not like any other plant here

edit.. a final part to summarize- the cannabinoids are neuro-modulatory crystalline molecular structures... the crystal part of the equation is the informational structure that the cell surface identifies with upon introduction... that crystal shape is what acts like a key in a lock to fit through the receptor channel that turns into signals... retrograde signalling in fact... so it is form effecting function.. the shape of the cannabinoid to trigger the functioning of the phospholipid bilayer of the cell wall

no one really knows why cannabis creates such shape specific structures that impart such biological information to humans

too- crystals are computers!

I use cannabis to help with my arthritis pain. It helps with many age related issues as well. It also helps with sleep. If you aren't able to sleep well that creates all kinds of other problems in life.

I can't take medications like ibuprofen or any NSAIDS because it too hard on my kidneys. I can't use prescription anti inflammatories either. That just leaves opiods which I'm not willing to take unless I'm recovering from a surgery or something really unbearable to deal with. The doctor was willing to put me on long term opioids and I refused about 5 years ago. I chose to use cannabis instead.

@Euthrymios welcome to the forum. I'm glad you were able to find us.

I got my medical cannabis card about three years ago. It was one of the best things I ever did. I can keep track of the strains that work well for me. If you live in an illegal state often we get mystery cannabis through our black market friends. It hard to keep track of what works. You end up not having any choices.

Would it be accurate to say that most people do not get enough omega fatty acids, hence their ECS is not getting enough endogenous cannabinoids to operate at max efficiency? Therefore, most people would benefit from phytocannabinoids?

Can you please post or PM me any links regarding the omega fats to endocannabinoid connection? Or regarding Endocannabinoid Deficiency Syndrome. It is very important as I petitioned my home state to add ECS Deficiency as a
new condition eligible for our med cannabis program. They only give value to scientific studies, which they look at and then disregard :(
Cannabis as a preventative alternative med (boosting/tuning the ECS) is where its maximum benefits exist, yet it is the most difficult aspect to "prove" to medical cannabis gatekeepers :(

The MotherLoad of information.... I have hundreds more JUST like it! please let me know MAN... the first two are very specific to your inquiry while all the others support it... this is really random so I hope you can make something from all this... Good Luck

@C No Ego ,

A related question on omega fat role in cannabinoid production: any research on what types of omega fats get converted/ do all types OR only the "good Omega fats"?

The ECS and cannabis (of course) are the most intriguing/fascinating/important medical topics in the last century.

The ECS and cannabis (of course) are the most intriguing/fascinating/important medical topics in the last century.

I was learning this for a while a while back... I think and alluded to our bodies using all the 3-6-9 omegas to eventually create the 24 sided CoQ 10...

for the western people.... omega 3 and 6 are the vital omegas now to look into as we have cultivated those balanced pufas ( poly unsaturated fatty acids) out of growing technique and we mainly use omega 9... the lands have been stripped and do not contain the microbiological life filled dirt to give this to plants and we do not use the correct plants either in quantity to have sustained and attained omegas as a whole... the correct omega amounts are the pre-cursors to the correct cannabinoid signalling in the lipid coatings of our cellular makeup.. we make ( synthesize on demand) the arachodonic acid that forms cannabinoids from those omegas when the correct amounts are in US and readily available...
