If it's still possible for @Dan Morrison to make mockup images () I'd love to see what the Lacquered Yuzen first posted by @delloy would look like on spalted Maple burl with a Cocobolo stem collar.

I know we don't know what species wood will actually be available for the second run of Nomads, but of the ones available to first run customers this and the Cherry burl are the ones I'm most enamoured with, and as we know, the Cherry was abandoned due to dimensional instability.

Dan, would I be right in thinking that the Coral 'eye' button was a special one off and not repeatable?

The translucent tissue might be very interesting (but likely to be impossible/difficult to mockup):

Do you glue and wrap layers to achieve the physical integrity of the sleeve?
If so, maybe the translucent tissue could work really well! (assuming the glue is also translucent).

I have made lampshades from layered tissue and handmade paper glued with 'Marvin Medium' (basically PVA glue) diluted with water.
They were really durable!

Ok guys and gals, it's time we bring this thread back to life again!

The paper probably isn't close to scale in relation to the size of the Nomad, these were just a very fast mock ups for visuals.....

I've narrowed it down (for now) to these three. I asked if we could reserve a wood so that I can work on papers knowing what wood will be underneath, I asked about the Box Elder Burl. This was the closest existing wood for me to play with. These have the lichen button, I think I'll be sticking with the stock abalone....

I'm pretty sure which one I like, just giving it some time to sink in.....

Hey folks, first post in this thread and generally first post since a while.
I'm on one list too, not sure if its the third or fourth, but no problem at all, so I've some time to check and choose on how my lovely nomad will look like:brow:

Not sure if someone here ever concidered to take the background from the FC site as mockup?
I think that would look really nice and make a good contrast to lighter wood colors?
Any ideas where to find it or if its possible at all, Dan?

Can I still get a mockup. I don't see any for these 2 papers:
chiyogami 875
Katazome-shi 136

(It's probably a bad sign that no one else chose these for a mock up but- oh well.)

I saw Isle of Dogs recently and after staring at these images so much the images in the movie reminded me of the paper. But with dogs! What do Japanese artists have against dogs?
