Magical Butter

I've been looking at a similar device that came to my attention in the 'What is the best butter machine?' recommended by @ashtonford.

It's a generic chinese version of the MB2 but appears to have a built in Decarb function.
nice, a decarb function on the machine would be cool...i'm just skeptical of Chinese knock off and their claims. decarbing is simple enough...but i have seen some dedicated decarb devices and they look good

its not really a knock off. magic butter doesnt have a decarb function. Its a little bit different and works wonderfully. The build quality is top notch. The magic butter is from china also, and its extremely over priced. They are entitled to make a profit but the mark up is outrageous.

It was the decarb feature that swung it for me.

That and the 220v capability. I'm just waiting for the paypal link to complete my order.

I did notice that MBM2e now has a 220v version but it's crazy expensive and doesn't have the decarb feature.

I haven't looked it up yet to see the specs, so the 'knock off' thing was based on what hopper said.

I'll have to give it a look, but I'm definitely not scared of Chinese products in general...but the knock off game, I'm a little iffy about, unless it's proven, sounds like the machine your talking about is.

I would never buy a fake mighty or fake volcano, but I like boundless vapes for instance...the boundless was fashioned after the mighty and has a similar look, but it's price point is much more attractive and it has a list of pros

what's the difference between the 110v and the 220v version?

would it make your butter faster?

if this is derailing THIS thread, is be happy to take it elsewhere?

Haha, no I don't think it'll make butter faster , it's more a compatability issue. My local grid runs on 220v so for the original MBM I'd have to buy a big bulky step up converter in order to get it to work.

If that decarb feature doesn't work, the Nova rocks at it. Again, maybe a touch higher priced than needed, but I don't regret the purchase for a sec, especially when I'm eating a cookies.

Early versions of the MB had a decarb feature, they gave up on it after the first version I believe. I got one of the first batches of MBIIe's without even knowing there were different versions or about this thread. It was an impulse purchase. I sorta regretted it until I bought the Nova, now I love it. I never had great luck decarbing in the oven, I was always trying to hard to keep the smell gone.

**Edit, I really hated making that post, wanted it to stay on 420 forever.......

Hello mate,

I've been following the Nova for a while, the only reason I don't have one is they are 110v only at the moment. I remember reading that they are working on an international 220v version though so it may well become an option.

I'm really hoping that this Chinese version with decarb works as an all in one device would be perfect. To be honest I have no idea what to expect from it.

I too dislike decarbing in the oven, using turkey bags and oven thermometers. My oven is shit, the temp fluctuates all over the place.

Here's to hoping for a better way

i never knew decarbing was so challenging...do you guys have gas or electric ovens? ive made good edibles with no decarb before, but it seems decarbing makes it work alot better...

i just place mine in a pyrex dish and run the oven @225*F until dry

I can get about 16g on it, and it's usually small popcorn buds, they're all saved for cooking.

I'll pull it out tomorrow and see what fits normally.

I got mine in 4 days after they shipped it! and it has a 1 year warranty thats hard to beat. The decarb feature sold me on it also.

Still waiting for my PayPal invoice so I can pay for the order.

I'll be sending them a reminder email about it tomorrow.

I'm not too worried though, I've learnt not to stress over such things and it'll get here when it gets here.

Cookies sound good...

Hi I am trying to make an infused syrup aka "thc lean" using flowers in my mb2e. I was thinking of making a vg tincture and some how mixing it with a simple syrup. Has any one done this before? If so what method did you use. Any ideas or tips would help a lot.

Welcome to the forum @Ghost90
I don’t have an answer for you, but I think you’d be better off asking as a new thread or finding a thread on tinctures to pose this question. You will probably get more responses that way.

I'm trying to delete this but can't figure out how.

You will sometimes see a post of nothing but "Deleted by poster." as you browse the forums. So at a guess you have already figured out the only way to do it, lol.

Most forums have something like this as well as a time lock on editing ones post. Otherwise I could post some batshite craziness and delete MY post after others respond. Then THEY would look crazy.

Krazy: posting batshite craziness in interweb forums since 1989!

I just ran into a issue that I thought I'd mention. I was making a tincture batch and figured that since the recipe says you can use up to five cups, I'd try 4. So I load it all up, four oz of produce, four cups of Everclear. Well, after 8 hours it didn't look right when I looked at it. The buds were all intact which was MUCH different from my previous attempts. I mushed it all down and tried a 4 hour run. Still nada. I called up MB and was told that probably "the grinder isn't working" and to send it back. I started thinking about it and said "wait a minute, we are WAY over the *MAX* line. So I split it in half and had success. So, lesson learned, even though it SAYS you can put that much in it, you can't. Stick with a max of 3 cups/oz if you have homegrown "looser" plant material.

Can you decarb in a toaster oven? Is it better to decarb there.

Does the MBM2 produce strong tincture?

If I start with a generous amount of properly decarbed high-grade dispensary bud and use Everclear, what can I expect as a result? I know a lot of people reduce the tincture to oil but what about the tincture itself?

I’ve used the water bath and also the freezer technique with varying results. I have a good amount of dispensary tincture which is ok but I wonder if I could do better on my own.

I’m thinking about getting the machine to simplify things.

I guess you could but it wouldn't be as accurate or produce results as good as using sous vide method or dedicated decarb device like the nova. Which will also smell less.

The MBM will produce strong tincture but it's up to you to define the strength by amending the ratio of active material to solvent (Everclear). Also depends on the quality of the starting material. It's more about the ingredients and process than the machine or tools used. The MBM just simplifies the process.
