Volute of Vapor
Just a quick post to mention something important for me: Sebastien assured me the Ti don't use a lot of power and can be used in a car. I even believe it use less power than a log since i need to use my HGL at 9 plugged in the Herbo dial to vaporize flowers and the Ti need to be set at 5.5 to get similar extraction.

That's a good reason to prefer it to some flower enail cause they are power hog since there is a ton of heat deperdition. The Ti heating element is encapsuled in the titane so there is a lot less heat loss....but it need a good 7-8mn to get 100% heated and operationnal (I don't use the turn at max tek to get faster heating time...).
I'm planning to order the stand but I don't get a lot of time for now!

I fear my Herb Ti is damaged. It doesn't come to temp anymore. Working at 4.0 - 5.5 (finishing hit) was great at the beginning. Night to yesterday I forgot switching off the Herb Ti (at 4.0). When I started it yesterday in the evening there nearly came nothing at 4.0 - 5.5. Herb remains light brown with greenish spots. Dialed up to 6.5. Colour of herb turned only to mid brown.
Any ideas?
BTW now my bowl is also brownish after that night. Didn't try to clean it but guess glass has changed it's colour.

@Hogni Oh no!!!! I wish you all the best, that would be too quick to have it damaged. If there is something wrong, single parts can be easily swept, so it should be easy to get it working again.
Fingers crossed!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to show you my latest Ti experiment, a small DhGate bubbler with a 18.8mm joint.
I think the design ties in with the Ti pretty well, it looks good.
Hit wise, it's ok, nothing wrong with it, but nothing spectacular either.
It's a single showerhead, very little water, good volume for a bubbler, good function.
It's not as nice as the steam roller, but i like it.

Still, IMO the steam roller is king with the Ti, if your herbs are well grown and cured it is the best thing ever.
If you herbs are not the best it might get harsh on the throat, but it is worth trying.
I haven't used any water piece since getting it, (other than this bubbler) and i really don't miss it.

I am now reaching the 5 months daily use with the Ti and i still enjoy it as much as i did when i first got it.
Sebastien could take another 10 years to design the next model and i would be fine using the Ti until then...

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong

Wow it becomes very dirty in few months... is the joint between heater and bowl cleaneable once it starts to get brown? Is the gunk sticky?

Would love an all Ti solution (like FP) maybe it would drain more energy but it would be unbreakable

It's not dirt, its patina!

To be honest i don't clean it very often... The last time i cleaned it was for the pictures on page 62 and that was a month ago! It has been used daily all that time and this is how it looks after a month.
It is now starting to need a clean, but once a month isn't too bad compared to other vapes i have had.

It's not sticky, it doesn't go away with 99% alcohol, don't know if anything can get rid of it, to be honest i don't really care.

I have the XL Herborizer with sphere (I did have the Ti also but sold it). I have never xleaned my XL glass with anything except hot soapy water since buying it 2 years ago.
Every 2 days of use I wash it out with hot soapy water and a shake. I also wash up the herb bowl. It is still very clean (herb bowl) after all this time.
My friend has the XL and never does this. His herb bowl is balck and filthy. I find it is very easy to keep it very clean indeed if you just wash it up every few days. Keeps all the resin off for a start.
Here it is ready loaded for my first vapor today in fact:

It doesnt really show how clean the bowl is here with the load and dust from loading, but this is a 2 year old bowl that has seen only washing up liquid, and zero time/effort actually cleaning.
Just a quick finger wipe under water. The top rim of the bowls on both models will discolour where it is closest to the heating element. More so with the Ti than the XL.
I believe it is a heat thing, not sure why or how but it will happen from the heat alone even if you never loaded it. Nothing to be concerned about, and certainly not a disadvantage to the vape.

Almost there...
Broke out the Ti tonight and started the heating with the heater in the bowl.
Gave it a nice 15 minute heat soak...
The temp was set to 6.

Load after load with even ABV and massive clouds and taste!
The herb was really strong and i coughed quite a bit but it was all good!

The secret is in the heat soak for the Ti!

Now do the same thing, but give it 20 minutes and stay on 5...

No coughing!

Clean freaks rejoice, there is a way!

I am about to take a week long break, (going away for a bit) and thought i would give my rig a clean so it would be nice and clean when i got home.
Although 99% alcohol doesn't get rid of the stains mentionned earlier on, it appears an hour long soak in high concentration PBW will get rid of almost all of it... It's almost brand new:

I still think alcohol is necessary, as PBW struggles with the really goopy stuff.
But to get rid of baked on crap, it works great if you use enough.

I do like it better :)

Me think caustic Soda (NaOH) could do it quite easy too with dark gunk

For the record I had my 1years old omnivap Ti Tip clean as new with 5 minutes of ultrasonic cleaner with NaOH in solution (also blue Ti heat patina was removed)

Thanks Carlos, I'm using PBW with success myself. My question regarded to Andrea's NaOH solution

Hello @Hogni , I use it quite concentrate but i did not weight it

I use it in pellets form and I used more or less 1 coffee spoon in 125ml of cold water (water get hot by reaction but not too hot)

Edit: where to buy PBW in EU? At reasonable price

Thanks to your technique of lowering the temp to 5 and a 20 minute heat soak, the Ti has been on center stage a lot lately!
I have to draw a lot slower but the vapor is just as thick, if not more and delicious as well!

The only issue i have is that after the first bowl is done, i usually forget the heater on it's stand and the bowl cools down...Happens a lot.
