Steps
  1. Place the gummy bears into a glass bowl.
  2. Pour just enough vodka into the bowl to cover the gummy bears completely.
  3. Cover the bowl in plastic wrap. ...
  4. Taste a piece of the candy on the second day. ...
  5. Remove the gummy bears from the bowl using a slotted spoon, if needed. ...
Serve the gummy bears immediately.
Da Machine (thanx Google)
Add flavor extract, 2 tablespoons/30 ml of honey or agave, and swirl the pan in a circular motion until the MBO mix again resembles molasses; then add the gelatin mixture. Whisk the gelatin mix into the pan with the MBO mix, and begin to simmer the gummy confection over medium-low heat.

Instead of using molds soak bears in alcohol tinc?

Recipe for gummies? with alcohol

I used the magical butter maker recipe on there website-https://magicalbutter.com/recipe/magical-gummies

The alcohol is used to make a tincture. Which is reduced to MBO then added to the gummy bear recipe.

Live every day like you are on vacation
1 hour @ 160F

poured in mason jar (botanicals and all), cooled to room temp, put in freezer for 1 hour, then thawed back to room temp before pouring back into mbm2e machine

2 hour @ 160F
2 hours @ 130F
0.5 hour of settling time

I am curious about the amount of time that is used by others for making their cana oil in the mbm.
I have been breaking the rules and cooking for 2 hours @ 160 F when using coconut oil.

Whats your cooking time? :science:

fwiw: I've seen everything from 1 hour up to multiple 8 hour cycles run over the course of several days. I've done the multiple 8 hour cycles run over the course of several days with glycerin, but not with coconut oil yet. When I first started, I was doing 2 hours. Now, as you see in my previous post, I'm 4-5 hours of cook time and I also like to thermal cycle in between (cool down / freeze the oil and the botanicals, then thaw and reheat / reprocess).

I'm assuming you prefer the way you do it now. Why do you like it this way? Do you find it stronger or is it the taste?

I do something similar to trichome_renaissance. Part of what MBM is selling is speed. In my opinion they understate how long you should run it. Much like how they used to claim that no decarb was necessary. How many people got screwed following that advice? :hmm:

What do you do with your leftover strained material? Would it be ok to steep the leftover buds/trim in milk or cream? I figure I could make cookies or whatever with the butter and then pudding with the milk / cream assuming anything worthwhile is left after straining.

I strain it at high pressure (Grrrr... muscles!) then steep in high temp coffee and restrain. I drink the coffee over the next week or so.

I tried an experiment about a week ago and wanted to make mention of it here.

Thanks for sharing the experiment. I wonder, since you are a brave soul and a true scientist, have you discovered a surefire THC vape juice recipe for the MBM2e? One that maximizes extraction and overall vaping results/experience? My interest is purely scientific, of course. :-)

I saw that before processing that you were asking someone else and thought, "Crap! what did I post!"

All I have ever made is oil/butter and 1 time an alcohol extraction. So it is always cool to read others experiences with higher level processes. I especially need to step up my game and make Gummy Bears at some point. IMO those are probably the best overall medibles for a variety of people. But since the folks I help are older and LOVE their evening fudge I have not done so.

EDIT:

I just finished up cooking 2oz into 5 cups of coconut oil giving the person I was helping a 4 month reserve of meds in their freezer. While I can go old school hippy chemist on this stuff if needs must? Gear like the MBM and the Nova make it so much easier.

LOL Hehehe....

It happens. :-)

On the topic of medibles, I read somewhere that coconut oil is not the best oil for extraction. How do you feel about it? Do you use any other oils?

Also, on my original vape juice recipe question, if you do happen to run across anything helpful in your wanderings, please do let me know.

Their is a BIG downsides to coconut oil but ti doesn't apply to my usage.

A recent study showed coconut oil as not healthy; OMG! Looking closer it is actually a study funded by the dairy industry, lol. And what it actually shows is that coconut oil has the same effect on cholesterol as butter. So a lot isn't good but the tsp worth my people are getting isn't a big deal.

The trait that might be a problem for some is that the crystallization temp is 76f. so my fudge is NOT good as is for packing in a lunch or what not. For storing in a freezer it is great. And in my experience frozen coconut fudge ages better than other mediums and has a nicer taste. Plus 76f means that you can stick a bit on top of other deserts and it will semi melt onto it.

Hi MBM fans and FC! I just got all I will need for my first run in the MBM2. I'm psyched!! Unfortunately leaving town & going to no-signal-land for a week, tomorrow. So, hopefully y'all don't mind helping me plan ahead. This is one of my last chances to get online before I come home and want to get started on my first MBM run.

My most recent batch without the MBM (best batch I've made yet), & my tolerance:
A month ago I made cococanna oil. With that batch I used 16g of good bud, decarbed, used everclear spray (as used in high times canna butter contest), and lethicin, for 6 hours at 250, stirring very well every 25 minutes, with 5oz oil (figuring I'd lose at least one oz). I've found that 1/4 teaspoon barely takes the anxiety edge off but I can feel it, 1/2 t is great to be extremely functional but anxiety is greatly reduced and all pain is gone, 3/4 to start feeling a light fun buzz, and 1t to get a fun buzz and smoke a lot less. So 00 caps take .8ml-.9ml (I have trouble getting more that .8ml in...maybe its just me?). With the batch I have it takes 3 to get to feeling functionally medicated (~1/2t) & 6 to get me to a perfect buzz. I'm sure I'll try more sometime. To give you info on where my tolerance may be, on a week night I take ~10 hits every time I smoke and I smoke every 10-20 minutes (earlier in the night after work) to 30 minutes later in the evening (less because of residual buzz).

The bud I get is quite good, but not the very very best. It's not coming straight from a dispensary...but I guess thats obvious since I live in TX.

WHAT I NEED FROM Y'ALL ;) :
I'd like to make cococanna caps in one week+ with the MBM that are maybe a tiny bit stronger than what I have right now. I know there is absolutely no science behind what I did with my last batch, or what I smoke daily or in a session. UGH! Sorry! LOL!!! BUT can you guys give me some suggestions on how much herb to use with 2 cups of oil? Also what time and temp? I'd also like to consider doing less with 1 cup of oil and 1 cup of water if y'all think that's cool???? Any and all questions, comments are welcome and appreciated!!!! I don't want to use more that 2oz if possible so that I have something to smoke. I think that the Double Dreams doesn't look as fresh as the other 2 bags, a little dry (if that matters)...it gets me high like the rest.

Thank you all very much ahead of time for your input!!! I'll do my best to reply today a time or two if I'm luck enough to get a reply. I'll be back in a week. Disclaimer-I'm high!!! LOL
ROCK THE FUCK ON Y'ALL!!

For my own cook ups I use, 1g cannabis/1-1.5g coconut oil.

At that ratio I can use the small "0" size caps and still get strong effects. :whoa:

You could try and calculate your dose rate.
A capsule should be good for around 6/8 hours. How much cannabis would you consume over that 6/8 hour period to maintain where you need to be in g's?
1g coconut oil per capsule/cannabis consumption in g's over 6/8 hours, should give you a rough starting point for your herb / oil ratios.

Hope this makes sense.

While I have done cannacaps more than a few times; others here are way sharper on that topic than I am. For small batch oil extractions this might interest you:

Synopsis? You don't need a Mota Pot, any pressurized stove top expresso maker will work. Basic models for <$20 on Amazon. Higher pressure versions might or might not help.

The MBM used to pitch its self as "no decarbing required!" They don't do so any more. Makes you wonder how many poor SOBs waisted ounces on the MBM, lol. Could you make it work by adjusting the temp and time to mimic an oven decarb? I have done so with good success but can't say I didn't loose any in the process.

Without knowing the parameters of your of your machines decarb function it is impossible to say. Unless you decide that you DO trust it? And you have a newer/dependable oven and a thermostat you can but on the try with the bud? Go with the oven.

For spot on decarbing tech using high end kitchen gadgets use a souse vide machine.

For spot on decarbing tech a chimpanzee could figure out in under 5 minutes get a Nova.
