Vaponic Herbal Vaporizer

@Dutch-Mic you will love it. I think it is perfect to try if the vaponic suits you with the standard model for ~30€ and then upgrade if you love it (and use the OG as spare parts - I use the casing/silicone end to store/handle my vapocane now, which fits perfectly).

That's my "problem" with these cheapish vapes: it is only 20-30 € and you get an all glass air path (apart from an SS screen) and I think: "why not?" and then after I like it, I order another one as backup ("it's only 25€"). On the other hand, I do not bother to care about the expensive electronic ones any more (I was very close to buying a mighty but after trying it at a friends, I decided that I liked the vaponic+ much more).
As a potential outdoor vape I still have the storm+mini-bubbler (although I haven't used it for months), although I usually take the vaponic+ with me and use it in less windy areas.

Thank you @RUDE BOY I really appreciated learning your technique

I use a 4flames and reduced time to 3-4 secs each heating cycles (seems easier to me to count to 3-4 than 8 when medicating :) ) and starting from cold I get reliable results every time, nice tasty hits over 3 heating cycles

OK, I bought a 4-flame lighter and like it so far. I had tried bigger torches before but only single flame. That meant that the heat increment was very local and very strong and I had to be very careful to avoid scorch marks. With a 4-flame standard sized torch, however, the chamber gets heated very evenly with a decreased heating time. Thanks for the tip.
BTW: @Andreaerdna I saw that you posted in the Apollo2 thread and wonder how it compares to the vaponic tastewise?

It is a quite different level as Apollo microdosing (as I use it) vaporize the vaponic load in one only delicious hit (not 100% convection but delicious nonetheless and convection play a main role)

Taste of vaponic first - second hit are the most pure I have ever tasted, but it is whispy and compared to Apollo is very light and starting from 2nd-3rd hit Apollo one hitter method taste a lot better IMO

Yes

The same load I can extract with a single hit with Apollo and it tastes delicious, convection style delicious

With vaponic I get 3 cycles, 2-3 relatively small hit each, first Hit taste better with vaponic (better in the sense of more pure, grassy) buy it is very whispy compared to Apollo - so overall I prefer Apollo first hit taste by miles away :) (with the sense of taste the concentration of the molecule plays a big role)

Edit: full disclosure
I am not a convection fanatic at all I like convection vapor but I like too the light roasted flavor hint there is with this vape or even with enano when left on the bowl preheating it for 10-20secs and the mouth/lung feeling is much better to me with this light roasted flavor hint than with pure convection

OK, I think I know what you mean. I use the vapocane for such pure convection single hits and the vaponic for the slower session (usually 3-4 cycles). However, the second heat cycle usually gives me very dense clouds (with the slight hint of roast you mentioned). What I find interesting with the vaponic is that you get very different signatures varying with breathing or heating technique and depending type of torch used.

The Vaponic plus arrived last week. I love it! The biggest con of the Vaponic is, from my point of view, the fragility. The wooden case seems to protect the Vaponic well, and makes it easier to spin while heating. The case also helped to reduce the heating time.

I currently use a single lighter, but also own a dual torch lighter. I'm going to experiment with it to see if it reduces the heating time, and still gives me quality vapor.

I'm also curious about the use of a 4-flame lighter. It sounds almost like too much heat, like trying to kill a mosquito with a flame thrower instead of the morning news paper. What do you guys/girls prefer: the single torch or the full force 4-flame lighter?

Single flame leads to more cautious heating and a more delicate taste, I heat without counting and going by instinct. The way I am using it leads to less conduction (I heat mostly below the screen). With the 4-flame torch the behavior is quite different: After heating for ~8 secs, the first draw is wispy and then I get pretty intense clouds, with the 3rd draw being the biggest (but a hint of roast). The following cycles I heat the 4 secs as mentioned above. I used it during my gaming session of Friday to get some quick on-demand hits while not really paying attention to the heating (sticking to the counting routine). Maybe this also works better outside as you pretty much heat the entire chamber at the same time, and there is no part that cool down at the time.

So it is
  • single torch = slow armchair session drawing everything out
  • quadruple flame = instant vapor and more on-demand style vaping possible

Of course it is not really essential (like most stuff here on FC). However, IMHO it still tastes way better than the VC (that is currently commissioned to CBD-hemp vaping exclusively) ;)

Hey All,

I have be using a Vertigo Cyclone triple torch lighter. I like that you can see when the butane runs low. The lighter has been really reliable, and has great reviews. The best part is that it was really inexpensive... I bought a package of 3 for $24 USD on Amazon.com.

Cheers,

Sadly, I'm disappointed in the Vaponic Plus. While I love how it functions (better heat retention and protection of the glass parts), little wooden particles from the wooden casing get in the vaporizer itself. It was the case with the first one I ordered, and also the replacement I got. Has anyone else this problem, or was I two times unlucky?

I love the original Vaponic, the vapor quality rivals some of the highend electric vapes I own. I was never sold on the Vaponic Plus, IMHO I felt that it was a desperate attempt on Vaponic to come up with something new. In terms of functionality and performance the Plus is not really that different from the original.

True that in basic function and performance the plus is the same but I believe it is much nicer to use if you're sharing and passing it back and forth or just laying it down between hits.

The wooden shell really does protect the user against burns and the Vaponic against breaking. In those ways I do see the Plus as an improvement.

Yes @RUDE BOY you are absolutely correct. It is difficult sharing with the original Vaponic without the potential of people burning themselves. However, I have found the Vaponic to be a solo experience in general as the bowl size is rather small.
