What battery do you think can make the IQ run cooler while still providing plenty of smoke sessions?

I have no idea...it's not my expertise. I was really hoping we were onto something here with the higher amp batts with a lower mah, but my side by side didn't support it. The stock battery is only 10 amps, so I'm not sure where else we can tweak it from here. Someone who knows more than I could maybe point us in the right direction. I'm happy to acquire and test some more batteries if it makes sense.

I've even tried a 20A battery (Samsung 25R & LG HG2) and still no luck.

I was trying to use a mini canister but the ball is in the way...

anyways.. I've gotten it off and found that using the canister made it a less efficient vape and have since screwed it back on

I asked since everyone who's tried have ripped the post off making things worse.

Does it matter how much sessions per battery you can get when having enough spares? I think after testing a lot af different batteries they al are about the same. Device isn't for abuse sessions. Device should be working and not put away for a minute or 2 then it's heating up excessively. Just hold and use it.

A good ISO soak should clean the spacers.
My spacers are beyond black from multiple sessions per use to the point where my material is charred brown. After I scrape out the holes and soak it in Iso with the rest of the removable parts and wash it off with water, It's good. I guess It's a superficial something where I want it to look as pristine as the day I got it, which it won't, but I clean it and it works, I'll just have to get over my hang up.

Hey man, I broke off my pearl post as well and it was quite a bummer. I was trying to clean my unit as well and the thing just tore to shreds. Anyhow, after that happened I just kept vaping it for a week or two with the pearl just on top of the herb or spacer. I honestly still think it did the trick but it was just a little more loose packing it down.

It took a solid month through the whole RMA process so I agree with you on sticking it out until your back in the USA. Also, I clean my spacers with iso-alchol it works great.

I posted that before I resorted to just putting the pearl into the oven ontop of my material and found that I still got consistent vapor and the unit pretty much works like normal. I was just very afraid of the inevitable happening, which was the post breaking since I already damaged it in the earlies when I kept removing the post and spinning it around (post). It was hanging on by a thread and a small fall done it in and I got scared.

The only problem I have with the pearl being detached is that I got to remember (Hard to do when high lol) to be extra careful when I dump out the material or go to stir the bowl 'cause often times I'm vaping in a secluded spot (Bush, dark room etc..) where I could lose it easily and would have to risk using a light and advertising my position. I'm just glad my Vape still works, especially since smoking joints with my ulnar nerve aggravation has started to give me this weird heart shock that has me scared to all hell when it happened 8/10 times I burnt.

I guess this is the reason I should consider getting a companion vape to go along with this incase I knock it out of commission and can't blaze at all.

With many items, I develop rules as time goes along. Things I believe I want to remember about some action I am performing. For instance, my rule when I leave the house is "7". I have to count up to seven before I know it is safe to leave. (Ring, 1, wallet, 2 etc.) I was forgetting my phone a lot before I came up with the rule.

I was thinking about that when using the IQ. My rule there is to not have both doors open at the same time. ("One door only." is the rule.) I formulated the rule after twice getting out the poker from the mouthpiece side, flip it over to open the oven and out falls the flava chamba or mouth guard. Say the rule every time and you won't be dropping zirconia during a sesh.

Any one have any other rules? (If not for the IQ, maybe post a rule in your vape's section.)

Hey folks recd. an email from Vape Mood this afternoon announcing a SALE on IQ's for $199.99, I don't recall using this vendor in the past, so they must have purchased my email. That is a hell of a price.

I hope I didn't break any forum rules, I'm not pimping for this vendor but that price is pretty awesome! I can't say I have seen a IQ on sale before.

I hope I am posting this in the correct place.

I received my new DaVinci IQ mid-day yesterday.
Purchased direct from DaVinci.

I am a complete novice to vaping.
Prior to receiving the IQ, I studied the PDF Owner's Manual,
read all the FAQs on the website.

I purchased a second battery from DaVinci
on the same order with the new IQ.
I would have purchased the DaVinci external charger,
but it was out of stock.
So I purchased a Nitecore Intellicharger New i2-T420170620 to charge batteries.
Out of the box, the battery in the IQ was fully charged,
the spare battery was depleted according to the external charger.
Placed the spare battery in the external charger and set it aside to top up.

Connected the app (iPhone 7+, iOS 10.3.3) with no issue.

Loaded up the oven, my first session was quite pleasing.
Cleared and re-loaded the oven,
an abbreviated second session was satisfactory.
Re-loaded a third time, performance seemed to diminish,
so I suspected the battery was running low.
The LED battery charge display indicated 1/2 charge at this point.

By this time, the spare battery had been on the charger for 10 hours
and showed as fully charged on the charger LED display.

Now to my problem.

After swapping in the fully charged spare battery,
the IQ will not power up.
Returned to the original battery, which was not dead when I removed it.
Still will not power up.

I am keenly aware of battery polarity and am certain that
a) the positive terminal is up when inserted
b) I have never inserted it with incorrect orientation.

Inspected the battery chamber under bright light,
appears pristine, no foreign material that
might interfere with the negative contact visible.

I also quickly learned of the finicky nature of the battery cover latch.
After latching the battery cover, with top cover still open,
I shake the unit upside down to pop out the flavor chamber,
just to confirm the battery cover is securely latched.

Attempted a factory reset on each battery.

Still can not get the IQ to power up.
Any suggestions?

Doh! I do not know why I assumed positive terminal was up,
It should be down - problem solved

Enjoy your new IQ, continue reading through the forum to learn a lot more about the IQ, stay vaped!!!

I just ordered a IQ today. It's my first really good vaporizer. I have a MFLB (I find it really difficult to use and that's with the ac adapter), I also have a Flowermate 5.0 (I find the draw to be harder than I'd like). I'm hoping the IQ will be a big improvement. Will post my impressions when I receive it.

Use the 10mil straw mouthpiece as well. If you like a nice smooth draw the 10mil is great. Don't mess with the ball if you have bothered to read the last 3-4 pages. :2c:

Enjoy your new IQ!
